The drivers that comes with Kies for your PC, if you installed the latest Kies, the drivers comes with it. Then try and Odin again.
That is the first thing I tried.. updated the drivers, robooted phone and laptop, kies does not recognise my S/N?
Boot into recovery and do a wipe/factory reset. Then try booting into download mode again. I've had this problem before and was able to solve it by flashing the latest stock firmware using odin

Don't use kies. Boot into download mode. Power off. Hold volume down+power. Volume up to confirm. Open Odin. Connect phone via usb. Should show in odin. Flash stock firmware.

You are not downloading the right one. Both your odin pics show MK2 & MDL. Download NAE and try again. Also try using a different USB cable to connect phone to computer.. Let us know if it worked.

That's great glad you finally got it up and running! I'm also looking for a wife hot spot that works but haven't found one yet. So if you have a suggestion on one that works that would be awsome. I used auto root with odin on stock NAE
I would check if your Hotspot would work if you upgrade it first. If not, maybe stick with what you have and update only if you have everything covered or if it's truly necessary. Cheers!

Hey guys, i just flashed the Google Edition 4.4 onto my I9505. As the title states, whenever I lock the phone via the button and turn it on, it says "No Service" so I manually have to choose the operator APN again. Anyone that could help me with this?

use odin 3.09. you just need kies for the samsung drivers. you enter download mode by having have the phone completely turned off. (pull battery) so vol down + power + home for 10 secs at the same time. just like recovery.

yeah, if you flashed stock rom, you need to cf auto root via odin. or if you have custom recovery. redownload superuser and reinstall the supersu into system and select cmd/trwp recovery as binary. may need to repeat last steps multiple times for it to work.
Just an FYI for future reference or if other experience this. You can still flash your firmware via ODIN when this displays on your screen.
@savoritz did yo solve your problem with your SGS5 ?
..
I have a similar problem . My phone is stuck at the startup screen . I can go into download mode and recovery mode but odin fails when I try to flash a rom , its lpg shows "NAND write Start . . . FAIL!" I have tried various odin versions , stockfirmwares , pcs and cables but the odin wont just pass . The strange thing is that odin successfully flashes custom recovery , but when I try to flash a custom rom using either stock recovery or custom recovery , during installation , the screen goes black and then returned to the main menu . Plz help me !!!! .
Update: I am sure that I placed the file in AP tab of odin and two options were checked (cant really remember them) but odin fails
.
You should be able to recover it using Samsungs Kies 3 software, go to tools/recovery and you should be able to flash it back to stock..
You could maybe boot back into download mode and re odin. I'm not sure that is possible when it's in a recovery state

Your device was never soft bricked, let alone fully bricked as you describe it. You made it unbootable by not being careful what you flashed. Glad you recovered, but know that you got off lightly this time.
Problem /Remedy:
Boot loop: Restore known good backup or full stock ROM from recovery mode
Unbootable, but still recognized by Odin: Flash full stock ROM with Odin in download mode
Soft brick: May require repartitioning with PIT file, followed by flashing a full stock ROM
Hard brick: JTAG (or possibly SD card bootstrap) required for repair. Usually (not guaranteed) recoverable

Be relaxed, we will find the solution :fingers-crossed:
1. Plug in the phone (in DOWNLOAD MODE) to your pc
2. Go to devmgmt.msc again.
3. Look for this driver and uninstall it: Samsung Mobile USB CDC Composite Device
4. Unplug your phone of the pc.
5. Uninstall Kies completely.
6. Install KIES 3 now.
7. When finish reboot your pc.
8. Reboot your phone in DOWNLOAD MODE again.
9. Plug in your phone to the pc and wait till the drivers install again and appear "Ready to use". The drivers need a lil time for it.
10. Close completely Kies 3 (remember in the taskbar of Windows too)
11. Try ODIN again.

Hello,
First of all my english is pretty bad. Sorry about that
Im trying to fix a soft bricked SM-G900H, it won't enter recovery mode, just download mode. The problem is that I'm trying to flash a stock rom but odin won't go pass "Initialzation". I have tried everything, I'm trying to flash without SD or Sim card, I also tried tu pull out the baterry and put it on after odin recognizes the phone, I have also reinstalled samsung usb drivers several times, and I'm sure that kies is not interfering in any way (no processes running in the background). I have too downloaded several stock roms with no avail. I tried with several versions of odin (3.07, 3.09, 3.10) and I did it with my laptop at home and my pc at my office, I even used different USB wires, And I keep getting always the same Error, odin stucks in "initialzation" step.
Please help me, I don't think the phone is totally bricked since it enters in download mode.
Btw, the download mode screen displays this:
Product name: SM-g900h
Current binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Reactivation Lock: Off
Secure download: Enable
Knox Warranty void: 0
RP Swrev: A1
The phone is not mine, is a friend's... She said it got stuck in the samsung logo when she tried to turn it on in the morning, she knows nothing about phones so i'm pretty sure she wasnt trying to flash anything or root the phone..
I hope you could understand this post
Thanks for the help
Sometimes anti virus and/or firewalls can interfere......
Also try running Odin as an administrator. ....

Yes, I just verified antivirus and FW and also started odin as an admin
If it won't enter recovery mode, it sounds like there's a hardware fault with the phone, maybe a stuck button?

As far as I know, when a phone gets "soft bricked" it will let you enter in download mode but not recovery mode... I checked the buttons and they seem ok.
Hi,
I've a Samsung A3 with a broken screen and I need to recover some files from it.
The device isn't rooted, have a default recover and ROM.
I'm trying to access via adb, but always shows unauthorized with the command adb devices -l.
Other idea is connect the device trough some cable, is possible with MLH?
Is the A3 compatible with MLH?
The files are accessible, dont worry. You will need TWRP on the device, and ADB configured on the PC/MAC. After that, you can "PULL" the files out of there.
OR JUST USE KIES.
PS, not sure about MHL cables, none worked for me.

To install TWRP I had read that the phone must be rooted.
My great dificulty is how I can root and install twrp on the phone without a screen to see each process stage...
Regarding KIES I never connected the phone to the PC, so I need to autorize KIES to acess phone... and with a broken screen I can't do it.
tks
You dont need root for TWRP.

I saw that is mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...a3-sm-t3153682 .
The following procedure dont require root but it's needed a working screen ("Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging").
http://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
Use KIES then.
Ok, I'll put this to bed right now for anyone else that happens to read that misinformation posted all over the net.
You DO NOT and never have had required to have root or enable USB debugging to install custom recovery.
Recovery is a mini OS that has absolutely no connection to the main system OS. USB debugging and root are only required for the main OS.
You dont even need an OS installed to use recovery.
Install TWRP with ODIN and then use the tool below. You can do all this without a screen. Odin will tell you what's happening.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
IMPORTANT: You must disable auto reboot in Odin then when Odin says PASS after flashing you must IMMEDIATELY boot to recovery by holding POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN
as soon as you see REMOVED in Odins windows quickly change to POWER + HOME + VOL UP.
This may take you a few tries as the timing is critical.
Note: If your device still boots to the OS and you dont have a security locked screen then you should still be able to use MTP to transfer files. Just plug your usb cable in.
If worse comes to worse and you cannot do the above I will modify the boot.img to give you adb support without needing usb debugging enabled.
???

Hello guys. I have the same problem as the OP, I have no to little experience in android and anything around it, but I am pretty messed up and i could use some help here :<
I have Galaxy A3 (2016), with broken screen (totally black), stock rom, without usb debugging enabled and a lock pattern in use...
I tried everything I could comprehend from the replys here and many posts around, but I got nothing... I am not even sure that I could get into recovery mode to install TWRP with odin, as it failed (whenever it could pass the the "SetupConnection")...
Is there anything I can do, maybe someone can help me on something i am missing here? :F

Ensure you have the Samsung USB drivers installed.
You need to put your device in download mode.
Boot holding power + home + vol down.
Hold for around 5 seconds then after another 5 seconds press volume up.
Run odin then plug the usb cable in. You will see the 'added' message if you are in download mode.

I am not quite sure. It's got Greek baseband so I believe that this must be it "SM-A310F_20160827_A310FXXU2BPH8_A310FOXX2BPI8_6.0.1".

Is there a way to determine the firmware by the phone as it is now somehow?
Guys, is there anything that I could possibly do, or should I just forget about it?

Samsung A3 support OTG, but not compatible with MHL.
So does the screen switch on? Or is it completely black?
If can you see the screen display, buy an OTG cable to plug a mouse into your Samsung, and click on your phone to make a backup.
Evening. I have a relatives Galaxy A5 with a completely blank screen and no touch. USB debugging is OFF. Im not sure what version of Android is on the phone. I have installed Custom recovery as far as I can tell. I cannot get the phone into Recovery mode. I have been trying to get the phone to turn off by having it plugged into the charger and holding Volume- & Power (As the battery is non removable) then Power & Volume+ & Home but its a no go. I tried Kies but its saying the phone is locked and it needs a password but I cant type it in with a blank screen and no touch. Does the A5 2015 have OTG support? Theres some important info on the phone so he really needs it. Help Please

Maybe you can try Broken Android Data Extraction tool to help you recover files from Samsung A3 with broken screen. It can help you access files and extract them out from a broken screen or dead Samsung mobile phone.

It's always best to at least read the previous post before you post.
