[Q] Severe battery drain - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am noticing sever battery drain since my upgrade to 4.4.2 (shout out to JasmineRom!) but now my battery is getting murdered. Befor you ask, yep clean wipe and install, and yep xposed installed. Battery stats says it is "NFC Test". I don't have NFC turn on, so im trying to figure out how to kill the process. Anyone else have the same issue? I know 4.4.2 is a drain and im wondering if I found the culprit.

If you're on Jasmine 2.0 it is a known issue, you can either install a different ROM or wait for 2.1 to come out which will fix the issue.

[Q] Problem after Rooting

Hi everyone
I have an international version of Note 3. The problem I'm facing is, after rooting my phone and installing Lidroid Custom ROM, the battery on my phone started draining badly. To get rid of the problem I reinstalled Stock ROM on it and also unrooted the phone. But the problem is still there.
Even without using the phone, the percentage drainage is about 1% every 10-15mns. Have removed all third party application from the phone, but to no avail.
Can something be done about this? I'm at wits end and need a solution badly. Please respond ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

Get wakelock detector from Google play see if it's a app draining the battery
Get into recovery mode and clean your cache, whatever bad bug went on with the custom ROM flash is still there. Once you clear it you should be OK.

Battery stats show wrong after installing xposed

So after installing the latest xposed it can sometimes happen that
After a reboot when installing modules or the framework itself,
My battery stats are ****ed. They dont update properly, screentime
Doesnt show up etc even after calibrating the battery or restoring
A previous backup this can still persist. I got it to go away before
But i thought it was linked to a module i installed and not exposed itself
And now i cant get it to fix.. Any help?
Also xposed seems to cause quite a bit of battery drain.
Thanks in advance

Might be simple, but have you actually tried resetting the phone completely and re-rooting it?
Also, overheating can cause battery drain. The throttling of the CPU does require some power, so if you're phone is always running hot, yes, you will notice this.

Mediaserver drains battery, is there a solution?

Hello i've been using G900F for 2 years. I've nearly find every solution for my issues. But there is an issue which drives me crazy: Mediaserver battery drain.
Sometimes (few times in a week) my battery is empty just in an hour. The main cause is "Mediaserver". I tried some solutions on xda but it keeps draining my battery.
If you have a solution please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Do you still have kit kat?? Asking you because this is the kit kats (4.0.x) principal issue that have never been solved. Partley even for lollypop (5.0.x) and solved for M.M. (6.0.1). Instal last 6.0.1 firmware and don't have problems any more with mediaserver.

Yes I'm using KitKat because i like that version of android. 6.0.x's asking for permissions is very bad option i don't like it. I don't update to 5.0.x or 6.0x because there is no option for rooting with keeping knox 0x0.

Ok..try this if staying on 4.0.x: go in settings and then in applications. Find (don't remember well ...I'm on 6.0.1) mediaserver, Archive, media archive external archive, gallary, your music app and enter in all of thees ones doing a wipe cache and wipe data. Shut down your phone and before opening again, go in recovery and make a wipe cache. Reboot and wait 5 minutes defore doing anything so media server remakes your entire multimedia archive. Should be solved for a while until the next data corruption will be present again.

G950F root battery drain

I'm posting this once again hoping one of you is experiencing the same problem.
The gist of the story is, when I root my phone, it drains battery quick leaving me with 2-2.5h SOT. When it's not rooted, it goes back up to 6h SOT.
This is not a rogue app problem, it's not a kernel problem, it's not a media scanner problem, it's a ROOT problem. And it stems from the days of Oreo, all the way to now where I'm on the latest OneUI build (February patch).
Somehow, when magisk or SuperSU is installed, it just drains battery quick. Does anyone have the same problem?
For clarification: tried safe mode, both rooted and u rooted with the same outcome: more drain on root than on non-root. Also tried COMPLETELY formatting the phone, and go from there with absolutely no third party apps installed; same outcome.
Thanks.
