Hello XDA Devs
First I would like to thank you for such great community. I am new here and this is my first post.
I bought Chinese Note 3 a week ago. And after using it for a little, I realized that Google Play services doesn't get installed because of its Custom ROM. I searched over and over again on Google XDA, and i tried following things:
Installing Recovery:
I found at one place that there is no official CWM recovery for SM-N900. But, I managed it to install via MTK Tools.
I can't try Odin because on pressing Volume Down + Power + Home buttons shows some Chinese menu.
Could't install TWRP dont know why.
Custom ROM Installation
After installing Recovery, I tried to install custom ROMs. I have tried about 5 ROMs listed below:
Lidroid
Hawkish Elite Series
VN ROM
Criskelo ROM
All these ROMs either get stuck while installing (some at 10%, some at 44% etc.), or suddenly recovery screen shows up with no confirmation about ROM installed successfully or aborted or what.
I HAVE RECOVERY: autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for SM-N900
Please help. I bought this phone just a week ago after saving money about 1 month. Thanks for your help in advance

First thing I would do is to Odin flash the official stock firmware
for your SM-N900 phone.
Here is the SamMobile link for the firmwares.
You can download the firmware from SamMobile.com .
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares
After odin flashing the firmware you should be able to
flash and root your phone using cf-autoroot and flash
twrp custom recovery using Odin.
Good luck, be sure to select the proper version and region for your phone.

You have not read the stickies - this community is NOT for fake Note 3 (which are generally highly incompatible in firmware with original models), you have to identify the precise type of clone you have and find the corresponding thread (if any) in General Android somewhere on XDA.

Hello, Thanks Misterjunky for your quick response
Unfortunately, I tried to start use Odin lots of times, but Odin requires the phone to be in Download Mode. And when I press Volume Down + Power Button + Home button, following menu in Chinese language shows up instead of the Warning sign most websites talk about for the download mode. And, Due to this reason, Odin doesn't detect my device i-e no slot gets yellow or blue in Odin software at my PC.

Ignore Misterjunky's post. He missed the bit where you said the keywords "MTK" and "Chinese menu".
In this case you cannot use anything you think a normal Note 3 can use - as you have a clone.

Given to authorised service center but they even can't fix it.... I don't understand if I can boot into download mode.... Then is it soft bricked or hard bricked..... And can the mobile be repaired if it's hard bricked....
Hard is hardware replacement
Soft is firmware or possibly PIT or nand damage .
usual reason is user not flashing the correct firmware / firmware damaged .

We need to know exactly what you've done to the phone in the order you've done it - firmware which was originally on the phone, any OTA updates, exactly what you flashed/in what order, what happened to the phone that made you need to Odin flash it.
Little details will be important so far as getting your phone up & running as soon as possible goes, I.E the less details you give the longer it's going to take for that to happen

hi, is a friend phone, he flashes with odin to install 4.3 custom(i don't know what custom he use) it fails and he brick the phone, can't no enter in recovery and can't enter in download mode, also the phone no power on, when he let me the phone for repair. Know i can enter in download mode.
First of all i try to flash a new rom custom but it says no pit partition. Then i download from sammobile a stock rom of vodafone and the pit file for the S4 i9505, i flash it with pit and the stock official rom of the terminal (re-partition mark,f.reset time mark, and autoreebot mark). Odin end and say pass. but when i try to power on the phone go again into a brick (phone, can't no enter in recovery and can't enter in download mode, also the phone no power on). i use odin 3.07 , 3.09 and 1.85 i got this versions and i try some configurations like unmark re-partition,and unmark autoreboot with the same problem. (He turn un qualcome mode). i also try to install a new recovery and the same syntoms. also when i flash any thing the phone goes to the same status all ok but no power on, no recovery and no download mode.
any ideas???
Hi guys,
I have big problem with my Core Plus. I'm little bit skilled with rooting, flashing custom ROMs and so on, but not for SAMSUNG devices. SO what's the problem?
One day I used ODIN for flashing latest stock ROM for my Core Plus. The problem is that I downloaded wrong STOCK file which belongs to other SAMSUNG phone. So flashing process through ODIN stopped and I had no chance. Now my phone is completely wrong, all partition system is damaged.
> When I turned it ON, I saw only big yellow triangle with info about broken update and I have to use Samsung Kies sw and go through Recovery bla bla.....of course I cannot use Kies SW, it doesn't recognize connected phone in this status
> I cannot boot to Recovery mode now (POWER + APP + VOLUP buttons). Before it goes ok so I think that Recovery partition is also broken
> I tried to use .PIT file and checked boxes Auto Reboot, Re-Partition, F.Reset Time, Nand Erase ALL, Phone Bootloader Update and Phone EFS Clear. Al process went ok, I rebooted phone but I see only Samsung initial logo and small red exclamation mark in the left upper corner. I still cannot enter Recovery mode
> ODIN mode (POWER + APP + VOLDOWN buttons) is still working
So when I try to flash official STOCK ROM through ODIN, it allways ends/stop with this message:
<ID:0/004> hidden.img
<ID:0/004> Transmission Complete..
<ID:0/004> Now Writing.. Please wait about 2 minutes
<ID:0/004> Receive Response from boot-loader
<ID:0/004> FAIL!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
SO what to do now? Is there some way, how to fix whole partition system? May I use ADB commands or what to do?
Thank you very much!
Rado
I tried also use ODIN 3.07, 3.09 and 3.10, also with different .md5 roms, but allways the same result. Process allways failed on the same step (described upper)
So in my problem....phone completely hard-bricked. I couldn't get into Recovery mode, but through ODIN I flashed Recovery image. Now recovery is working, I deleted and formated all partitions and cache. After that I tried to flash stock .MD5 file through ODIN, but the same result. It allways fails during flashing Hidden.img file... I think that partition named "hidden" is not in my phone as I discovered through ADB commands. Now when I turn ON the phone, I see original SAMSUNG Galaxy Core Plus SM-G350 logo (with small red exclamation mark in left upper corner.....I don't know what it means, but it's there), but after that phone shows only black screen. But I think I'm on a good way...
Because today is no flashable Android for this model, I tried to flash from SD card .ZIP for another similar phone - Galaxy Trend Plus. Difference between Core Plus and Trend Plus is in screen size. I knew that it cannot work properly, BUT - whole flashing process of that .ZIP was OK. So that means that I can fix my phone, but only with flashable .ZIP . I'm affraid that I have to wait till someone create flashable .ZIP from stock ROM for Galaxy Core Plus
SOLVED I found that original stock for Afganistan coutry is smaller (appr. 300MB) than other origo ROMs. So I flashed it through ODIN and flash process worked ! After that I flashed original Slovakia stock file through ODIN and it's OK now :cyclops:

Hi , I was in the same situation , I have a samsung galaxy core Plus sm G350M and was in android 4.4.2 and cannot root it with anything , so I tried 4 different roms from sammobile and after softbrick (the message that says conected to Kies to fix the software or something in that nature ), and only one worked for me the following Rom:
G350MNXUANB4_G350MMXANB4 this rom has android 4.3 , and I used Odin 1.85 to installed it. Then after the phone came to life I used Iroot to rooted and it worked in the first try. Then I installed Supersu and eventhough it asked me like 5 times to grant permission and said once that it was not granted , finally it worked and the phone. So know I have my sm G350m alive and rooted, now I want to unlocked it with one of my tools (octoplus), I will keep you posted.
If you need any help let me know, and if any of the information helped you, I will appreciate your thanks.
Hopefully I helped one friend with your issue.

Hi all ! Hope sb help me with this...
I updated my S4 i9500 to android 5.0.1 lollipop (XXUHOAA ) about 8 months ago. No problem untill 2 days ago my phone turned off itself then went to bootloop.
Now it just shows the s4 logo then restarts again all the time. SOMETIMES it turns on but after 4 or 5 seconds again turns off (not able to do anything during 4 seconds)
I CAN NOT access recovery mode. The recovery mode became a black screen and not able to wipe/factory reset.
Before I bring it to serviceman I want to see if u can help me with this(It's warranty is voided now)
WHAT I HAVE TRIED RECENTLY:
I tried to flash 4 different Roms using 3 different odin versions but no success
[flashing roms get the error "complete(write) operation failed" and by using the suitable PIT file I get the error "repartition operation failed"]
Also tried flashing 5-files-firmware (with pit file) but again "repartition operation failed"
I used 3 usb cables including the original one
I did all of those steps using 2 different laptops and also different ports
I'm sure the samsung drivers are installed[odin port comes blue or yellow]
I used SkipSoft ToolKit and one click unsoftbrick softwares but no success
Also used adb to factory reset phone but it doesn't detect my phone[ seems it needs to be turned on]
I removed simcard, format extra sd card, remove battery for a long time and.....
Is there anything I haven't tried yet?? Can somone help ? I appreciate any suggestion,Thanks

Hi and Thanks for replying, Well I downloaded some CWM/TWRP recoveries but the problem is that I can't flash anything with Odin. I always get the error:
<ID:0/007>NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/007>
<ID:0/007> Complete(Write) operation failed
And this error is the same while flashing anything like Rom,Recovery,philz_touch and even auto root files.
I'm so confused
Have you tried downloading stock firmware from sammobile for your model and carrier and installing? If that doesn't work you may have a serious issue.

Of course I did. I even downloaded different android versions (5.0.1,4.4.2,4.2.2) But non of them flashed
I remember I used Odin 3.0.9 to upgrade my S4 to 5.0.1 months ago but I tried different Odin versions (1.85,3.0.7,3.0.9) for in case.
Unfortunately,I face an error all the time that is related to Nand write corruption .
If you have flashed 4.2.2 it's a brick ,for sure.

Does it reboot when you are in download mode? If so, then it's your power button that is faulty. Either try to wiggle it loose or replace it.
If it doesn't reboot while in download mode then you have some other hardware damage. Probably your motherboard is damaged.

No it doesn't reboot while download mode.Maybe hardware damage but it sometimes turns on and I can access applications and settings for a short time (about 5 seconds)
I have rooted my device when upgraded to 5.0.1. And recently I unchecked "enable superuser" in the superuser app.( I have done this before many times without problem)
I guess there is a problem related to that because when my phone turned on I tried to check the enable option in the superuser but as soon as I touch the check box my phone turns off instantly
If your phone goes into download mode. I don't think it is bricked.

You cannot fix your phone by Odin because of the Secure Download enabled bootloader.
You will have to pay a JTAG repair service.
Android 5.0.1 is a crap, which replaces your bootloader with a secure-download featured one,
so you won't ever be able to have the control of your phone again!
@Killnolife: A little melodramatic? It's not a locked bootloader so he still has total control over the device. Come back with an AT&T or Verizon S4 and then complain about having no control.
OP, Lennyz1988's advice is sound. Follow it.
Well I got tired of trying to flash my device with Odin. Always error... The Only choice I have is to take the phone to the service center and see what they can do...I'll share the result...
I took my phone to service centers for repair, they said the hard is damaged and it takes about 100$ to replace that:crying: if I pay that much I'm not sure it wont damage again
So my phone is dead now on my table and I gonna buy a new phone (maybe s5 or z3). Hope no one experience this situation
Hello Everyone, i got a note 3 phone
SM-N9005 FCC ID: A3LSMN9005
SSN:- N9005GSMH
MADE IN VIETNAM BY SAMSUNG..
i bought this note 3 phone from UAE and it was with Kitkat 4.4.2 and when i was using it, some apps used to stop and not responding and get a pop-up message "System has stopped" or something like .com.system has stopped responding, also when i open some other apps the phone shuts down, so i turn it on, sometimes it works fine and sometimes it stops responding and shut down many times, so i had to make a full restore factory reset and still have the same problem, some guys told me you have problems with the rom, so i had to look for stock roms to it and found a lollipop rom under this name (AP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar) and i installed samsung usb drivers just to make sure that everything is okay.
so when i started flashing it by odin it said Fail, so i tried once again but failed again, and i found my phone went to that black screen with (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again), i couldn't get to my previous kitkat rom after that, but i'm able to go to download mode and recovery mode, so after this( brick) i had to search of how to unbrick it so after that i flashed philz as a recovery mode, and then flashed (All samsung recovery.tar) so then after flashing it, that message of (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again) is gone, but i got another loop of restart each time i open the phone, it is not booting it is only taking me to the black start screen of android, and after a while it restarts itself.. and then when i tried to flash the same rom once again and connected my phone to my computer, drivers started configuring and so i waited to finish, but it failed it said (MTP USB Device Failed), though i still can see the phone connected over Odin in download mode.
so i had to look for another rom which is a kitkat stock version (N900TUVUCNB4_N900TTMBCNB4_N900TUVUCNB4_HOME.tar) which i found after downloading it and flashing it to my phone that it is for n900, which is normally failed flashing!.
so I don't know if i messed things up or not, and i really don't know what else or more to do ?
please give me your advice so i can restore this phone to its original stats.
Thank You!
Are you sure the first firwmware you flashed is a full stock firmware?. What is the size?.
The second firmware you flashed isn't for n9005. Try different firmware specifially for UAE.

I see. It's a leaked lollipop firmware. Flash again with 4 files except pit. First boot will take some time.

1. Go to Download Mode.
2. Tell me if you can flash this ONE using ODIN. It's the latest for KSA (Country Saudi Arabia).

Choose corresponding file for BL, AP, CP & CSC. Do not tick repartition. You could also try with the firmware as suggested by joku

Did you solve the problem?
Hello guys, so yesterday I rooted and installed TWRP on my Galaxy Note 3, but i've got 2 versions of TWRP one was HLTE and one was HA3G, the first time I installed the HA3G, but when I was trying to install the HLTE ( The wrong one for my phone because I don't have LTE) odin froze on some thing, So I was stupid and I shut down my phone while it was updating and now I'm stuck with the " Firmware update encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again" But when I try to recover it with kies it says that SM-N900 is not compatible with recovering or something like that. So I'm trying to bring it back with odin. I've downloaded some .tar firmware repair files, but they're not helping. I've tried to flash the stock firmware that i've got from sammobile.com and now I'm trying to flash the TWRP HA3G, maybe it will help me do something but like with the others this stopps at some random point. And whatever i do it doesn't show a proggres bar in odin it is only showing the blue text at ID:COM. Right now I'm in download mode with 'Current binary: Samsung Official" and " Sistem Status: Custom " even tho I didn't manage to succesfully install a custom rom. When I was trying to install a custom rom there was always the error 7 before I bricked my phone with odin . Please help me if you can, I can sharescreen trough skype if this is any helpful.
P.S The recovery on the phone isn't working aswell.
Flash stock rom via Odin.

Stock firmware can be found on sammobile.com. The download is a bit slow but has always been reliable for me.
