I am trying to unlock a droid razr maxx. Dan Rosenberg's software is hanging at 'daemon started successfully' Help will be greatly appreciated!
If you are indeed talking about the droid RAZR maxx xt912 it is not unlockable neither US gsm nor bootloader ... Last I checked...you may find more assistance in the droid RAZR community as this is the RAZR M xt907...there is safestrap for it with a good selection of Roms.... But from what little you said it sounds like your trying to root it so most definitely check out the RAZR community for further assistance

Hi XDA Forums,
I'm a US Cellular customer, and I'm getting the first smartphone on the plan. I'm going over to the Motorola Electrify M, which I have heard is identical to the RAZR M. So I am wondering, are the rooting, ROMS, and other hacks able to work on the Electrify M? If so, it would make the Electrify M a great phone.
Thanks
The only ROM's that will work on our Electrify's are the CM's.
I do have a ROM over @ teamuscellular.com that is fully functional for are device.

Just got an electrify m yesterday. I was also wondering how safe and difficult it is to root the electrify m?

I am just curious if anyone has figured out a way to root the M on 4.1.2 without having to unlock the boot loader. Thanks.

There is no way to unlock the boot loader on the RAZR M (retail). As for the Electrify M (which I presume you own), achieving root from unlocking the boot loader the only valid method.

Big news today on this topic involving @djrbliss (Dan Rosenberg), per droidrzr.com. My OMAP phone can't use this method, but I wanted to give people on this forum a heads-up. So go check it out!

Thanks. I just never could figure out why the electrify 2 was rootable without unlock on 4.0.4 but the M couldn't be.

After my contract is up with VZW, can it be unlocked to work with T-Mo or Cricket?
Simply do the GSM mod, I would suggest nvitem method. Search this forum a bit for it, I don't have a link on hand. My XT907 is currently on cricket.

Worked great, I'm now ready to go T-mo or Cricket
So it seems that the bootloader is locked just as it is on the verizon moto x. I tried using the official unlock method and the page said my device isn't eligible to be unlocked.

And why would you think that anyone would release a phone with a preunlocked bootloader?

I didn't. Motorola made it really easy to unlock the bootloader on the gsm moto x and moto g. But that unlock method didn't work on the Verizon moto x, and it seems it doesn't work on the Verizon moto g either. The Verizon moto x's boot loader was never unlocked, and it seems that the moto g will face the same fate.
