Check your APN settings or flash the stock rom with Odin and data factory reset after that. If the issue persists its probably a hardware problem.

[Q] Clock app frozen

Hi
My clock app stop working around 8:45PM and also my phone works slow during that period.
everything works well after 4:00 AM ....?
I notice my alarm don't work in between that time and also no time update on any widget or on status bar time..
During that time if i try to install any app from app store than it also not work they will stuck at installing and never finish that installation process...Also my phone get hotter during that period and it use more battery power
like it use 30% battery in 2 hr
Once it pass 8:45 PM it stay that time on status bar unless you reboot phone and after reboot it works for 5 min and then again get Frozen to last state...
I have two android device (One X+ , nexus 7 both root and unlocked bootloader and has stock ROM )both device doing same thing.
I thought it's a malware or virus so I wipe my phone and put custom ROM on it but I still have that Problem in my phone...?
So it might be any app that cause that problem or something else that trigger at certain time
I am totally confuse how can i solve this problem...?
Any one have that problem ...?

Even I have custom ROM ... it will work... ?
Do they bring me to stock ROM or custom ROM.?
If all of your android devices are doing the same during certain hours then i would suggest to bring another device (from friend or some one els that u dont own) and use that device between same hours without installing any thing u normall on ur device but use ur own sim or wifi network.
If the problem comes to ur new nevice then its ur setup (wifi or sim) and if the problem dont comes then try completely wiping one device and flash some thing different and do not modify any thing and test again.
Sorry if the process is long but ur problem is the first i have heard of and needed to be identified as of which particular app or wifi or sim setup cause the problem.

As far as I know..Wifi or Sim does not cause these kind of probs..Its Probably related to an App..Thats why i suggested a factory Reset.

Hey
I turn off my Wi-Fi and Mobile data yesterday night and my mobile works fine all night...Yeh....
So it could be any app or any malware all ready download in my phone internal storage...that trigger by internet connection at certain time and it use more battery power and keep mobile overclocked and that make my mobile get too hot...
Yesterday I turn of both data connection at 8:00 PM so that didn't get activate and mobile works fine...
Now I think it can only be remove if i do Factory Reset..(Wipe Everything from Mobile including personal data)
I hope it's not any app...because I also remove lots of junk app from my mobile yesterday....
OP specifically mentioned the time between problem occurs, if u dont have same time as ur wifi then some times wifi dont work (google for nexus wifi gray signal) so might be at certain time wifi have issues or some app try to transfer lots data so to identify the problem cause we have to test every thing

Ya I am thinking about complete wipe, but need some time from my busy schedule.
May be next weekend I will do that, but I have to work on New phone (Old Phone Motorola Atrix 4G) on weekend .
Need to gather all information to root that phone and put CM10 on it. That phone has 2.2 on it. any idea where to start...?
I am going to send that phone to India so need to work on that phone first...
Still Good
Hey it's 9:45 PM and I have my wi-fi on and data connection also on and my phones works good.
So i guess I remove that app that hack my phone...
I guess it must be one of those app that i download off the market from apktop.com
i think u should not install any app other then play store untill u find it from good source or u want ur device to get slow again

[Q] Problem with WIFI, freeze and reboot after time of sleep (Also in secure mode)

Hi, I never root my phone or flash a custom ROM.
The problems was started when I flashed a new ROM from sammobile of another country, my phone comes with 4.2 and I flashed a 4.3.
I flashed newer ROM from only Vodafone-Spain (only those really are my official supplier), and then I update ever with Samsung KIES, (no Knox counter)
So, with Andorid 4.3 I had more problems than now with 4.4, now the only problem is with WIFI
I can use normally, with screen ON, the problem is when sleep for a long time (more than 1 hour) when I touch a button I see the unlock screen, but does not seem to work the touch screen, and screen go off after a seconds, if I touch other button the screen don't go on. And then, after aprox 30s it reboot itself, and show a window telling that the Process System is not responding, do you want to close?, and two buttons, close or wait.
I tried to start my phone in Secure Mode and I have the same problem, so it is not an app, it is the ROM.
I do at least 2 Factory Reset, but the problem is still there.
I think it is a software problem and not a hardware problem, because the problem start when I update to Android 4.3
I tried the trick WIFI Power save Mode OFF (on dialer, *#0011# -> WIFI -> Power save mode OFF) and never reboot automatically, so the problem I think it is with this power save mode. But if I turn off, when WIFI is ON, the battery drain fast.
In the samsung shop they tell me that first will format my phone to see if the problem solve and try for a time, if not solve, then I have to send by mail... and I will not send it because I know the time it will take to repair it is about 1-2 months and I need the phone for my work.
So is there another solution or something to try?

Since the first ROM (4.2) I flashed 3 or 4 ROMs from SamMobile, so I am not very optimistic. But I don't lost nothing, I will try it
I flash again the ROM, and after 2 days testing, the problem is still there.
Any other thing to try before send to samsung?
Please, give me another idea to try. I really have a problem with WIFI
This is how Wifi (some times) drain my battery when are not connected to a network. But the problem is worst when is connected, because it freeze and reboot.

Yes I solve. So.. I don't solve it, it solve it self. One day I saw that I don't had wifi connection, then I saw that I don't any WIFI names stored, all was erased automatically, I don't know how.
But the result it, I don't have anymore a freeze or a reboot because wifi. ALL, absolute ALL run fine now. I had a lot of WIFI names stored, about 30-50, maybe this was the problem, a conflict with some of these names, but I'm not sure
No one update, reflash, factory reset, or start in safe mode was solve any problem, the problem solve it self... very strange.
If you try a factory reset, then don't restore all your mobile config. Try to install all apps manually, one by one. I ever restored my backuped config, and I think this was the problem.
Hope you can solve it

Thank you very much for answering so quickly.
Happens to me exactly what you do, but seems to have no solution.
I have tried more than 8 roms, stock or mods, and always fails.
At first I thought it would issue the modem or kernel, but after many tests, I do not ****ing know what is causing the problem.
I'm running out of solutions, anyway thanks for telling your case...
I'm glad that in the end one way or another, you have it fixed.

What happens when you fully wipe, flash a 4.4.2 rom, don't restore anything, not even your google account and don't install any apps.

Thanks for your interest! The truth is that it is very strange ...
If I remember correctly, already try what you mention me, but I kept going ... It's like at some point something had happened which change roms not seem to solve..
I'm considering installing a rom with 4 files and pit file, but do not know if this will help in something
Let's see if I can come up with the bug because it is becoming a pain in the ass
:good:
I would try what say Lenny1988. So the only change before solution and after solution, was a big crash on WIFi drivers/app/modem (don't sure) it self, and was deleted all my stored wifi access points that I had. It was a problem related to Wifi power save, if I disabled it then I had no reboots/freezes.
So, I would try a factory wipe and DON'T restore anything, and try for a couple days. If work, then you know a way to solve it.
Tell us if it works.
Hello there! I will update with the latest news!
I tried the recommended advice, but no luck...Not seem to affect him leave without restoring.
The only thing that seems to work and keep it running, is to disable wifi power saving system
you know....
Code:
1. Go to your phone dialer
2. Dial *#0011#
3. When you see the "ServiceMode" screen, press the left menu button
4. Select "WiFi"
5. See that "Wifi Power Save Mode" button that is "ON" - well turn it "OFF"
But this way drain your battery much faster,so it does not seem a good solution to the problem.
Curiously, the same phone, some people suffer this problem and others do not....
It may be hardware? or software?
If I find something, I'll note here.
Regards

Hi, thank you for the reply. I did some work on the device and flashed CM 12.1 via TWRP. Wifi worked good in it but I missed S Pen & S health (S Pen Helper Add-On wasn't good in CM 12.1). Hence, i searched about downgrading to 4.4 KitKat only to get back wifi and Stylus both. I have been partially successful in my effort i.e. I have flashed BTU firmware 4.4. and got the Stylus back but wifi problem persists. The wifi button simply does not turn on. It's different from the problem most people face regarding not scanning particular router or forgetting passwords etc. I am just trying to explain so that you guide me to the specific solution. I have tried short code *#0011# and turned OFF power save mode too but it didn't fix either. I liked the CM 12.1 but the trade off with Stylus was not in my favour therefore I had to revert to Stock ROM. So the current state of my device is shown in screenshots attached. Please help!

Tried both the applications. Even rooted my phone for the second app to give it access but nothing worked. IMO these apps can only fix when the wifi button is green but the internet connectivity got some issues like resolving DNS etc. In my case, the wifi button stays grey always. It turns dull green when i tap it and goes back to grey again. From the settings menu, when I swipe the wifi icon right to turn it on, it freezes for a while and gets back to left. I can still use Wifi with Custom ROM like CM 12.1 but I can't compromise the S Pen functionality which is why I returned to Stock ROM. In Stock ROM, Data Network & Bluetooth etc. are working fine. It's just the wifi which won't Turn On at all.

Wifi sudddenly broken?
I have been using AICP nightlies and everything has been great.... I was looking around in MiXplorer and dropped my phone (pressing many buttons catching it) and now my wifi will not turn on... at first my data wasn't connected either but then I flashed the http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=11326 and l got my LTE back but still my wifi will not turn on... . Oh yeah, and it says "Google play services error" persistently... I've I also wiped dalvik cache, cache, system and restored the system i had backed up w/ TWRP . No luck. I tried dirty flashing the newest release for hltespr which was the 20150925 from today with GAPPS-LP and no luck.... Whatever I hit in MiXplorer really effed some stuff up I suppose.. I have a full backup I can flash but it was over a week ago and I will lose a bunch of work..... Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue w/out formatting and completely wiping and starting over? If I have to go back a week or two it will truly be detrimental. Thanks in advance to any kind sir who will accept this mission!!!:fingers-crossed:

Wi-Fi Hotspot Error

Hi,
problem:
I cant use my mobile as a Wi-Fi Hitspot as every time I try to activate the Hotspot it instantaneously deactivates itself, i.e. the slider moves to the off position.
What I tried unsuccessfully tried so far:
Change the AP Band between 2,4 and 5 GHz
Set the Security to off
Set Tethering hardware acceleration on and off
Reset of the Network settings Wi-Fi, mobile and Bluetooth
Several Reboots
os:
LineageOS 16, build lineage_X00TD-userdebug 9 PQ3A.190801.002cf5ef798ea, Nov 7th 2019
kernel:
4.4.194-zen+
I would appreciate any Ideas how to solve this problem. Thanks vm in advance!

Did you decrypt the device by using proper decrypt.zip? If not reflash and include the decrypt.zip.
Our phone doesn't have 5ghz band.
Try factory resetting once.

Hi,
thanks for the answer. During the rooting I also had to flash the decrypt.zip, so yes, I did a decryt of my phone - hopefully it was a popper decrypt procedure though :_)
A complete factory reset I didn't try so far as I'm afraid with all the subsequent work associated with a reset..:_(
But probably you're right and there's no way around a complete reset of the mobile.
Thanks

Ah ok, thought you meant a complete re-installation of the firmware / lineage OS. Only resetting the the phone, i.e. Erase all data should be much easier. You think that'll do the trick?
