I performed a clean install of Kangakat KTU84P with no problems on my i337 galaxy s4. In the past, I have been able to get the built in IR blaster to work with the WatchOn app (had to get it from Aptoide since it doesn't appear in the Play Store), but in the most recent build the IR blaster does not work. Is the IR blaster supported in the most recent build? Thanks.

Edit: I tried Smart IR Remote, which did work. WatchOn and other apps still do work, even though the IR LED turns on on command. Did the IR protocol change at 4.4.3/4.4.4?

Hi, is there a way for make Allshare control work on S4? smartview is broken too, there isn´t a wifi controler in s4 just the IR watchon app. WHY???
I'm having trouble with my IR blaster after rooting. I didn't put a custom rom on my phone. I literally just rooted and removed bs verizon bloatware. Didn't change any settings and didn't remove any system apps.
The IR blaster was working before root, but now it just doesn't work at all. Is there a fix for this?

Getting root was the most complicated process that I've run across yet, for our variant, and I've flashed lots of handsets, from lots of carriers.
After I finally got root, I went on to install a custom 5.0 TouchWiz ROM from BigBot96.
I also ran the extreme debloating zip with ADB, from Elliwigy.
From there I just downloaded what I wanted from the Playstore like YouTube, and the Smart Remote from Peel Technologies.
My IR blaster works just fine. I set it up as a remote for the TV here, and the TV at work, I just 'change rooms'.
If you're looking for a diagnosis of your trouble, we need a bit more information.
How exactly did you 'remove bs Verizon bloatware'?

I recently got my galaxy s4 and was glad to use the ir blaster feature. It worked really well with peel remote. When I installed other APPS like universal remote and A Smart remote, it didn't work at all. I tried restarting the phone, updating it, reinstalling the app, use other APPS BUT it only and only works with peel.
My brother's note3 worked with all the APPS I had installed on my phone.
Please help. Without this, my s4 seems useless. I guess its not the fault of the APPS, its the problem with my phone or its software.

if you installed the apps from play store then it should support your device...use SURE UNIVERSAL REMOTE it works for my s4 i9500

I have a Comcast app that lets me control my DVR including changing the channel.
You can use a wireless Global cache itach IR blaster with Touchsquid app but it'll cost you over $100 to get it working that way.
Only thing I really miss about HTC...
I've used TV (Samsung) Touchpad Remote and it works great, for a Samsung TV of course. I've also used Smart Remote, that works on every TV connected to the network. If you have a networked TV there are a few options.
My girlfriend bought me an anymote ir blaster, its awesome! I can control my stuff with my 6p or my work iPad basically anything needing an ir connection with anymote. Highly recommended it'll run you about $100 but works.
Depends on your TV, my LG has an app that works over WiFi. I'm guessing other models have similar applications.
IR Blaster does not work on my samsung s5 g900f. any idea how to fix it? IR is dead and no red dot on any rom (stock 5.0 and custom 5.1.1).
