I recently got my hands on a droid 2 a995 and was asked to "bring it up to date" as best as i could
I found it to be several hours of clicking dead web sites and links.
So i managed to get this old droid up to date.
i later decided to upload them myself just incase. i will always have this.
Then i decided that others might be spared the same painstaking search for resources.
I dont have credits to post as many were found 10+ pages deep in google searches in the form of a file host account.
At the time i amassed these files i dint stop to record where they came from or even where i started when i realized i needed to find them.
ANYWAY XDA is about sharing and i just thought some might find usefullness.
For me. Starting with a droid 2 A955 on the Gingerbread .621
i used FRAMAROOT.apk
and bootstrapdroid2.apk
Backed up the factory (now rooted) rom in recovery with nandroid
in recovery formated system and installed CM9 rom and gapps.zip
resulting in what you see below.

When I boot my phone I get the following error message:

I recently ran the one click roots for the epic and installed the clockworkmodkern.zip. (I DONT THINK THAT THIS IS THE CAUSE)
I UNINSTALLED some google apps using the TITANIUM backup app. (I think this is the cause)
any help would be appreciated seeing as I cannot download anything from the Android Market since this error appeared.
Reading up on some of the other threads it seems that I have to install G Talk. I am looking around for the APK, but have not found it yet.
**** I found the apk in another thread on this site. Just search for google talk apk if you have this issue.
Yes - once I installed the 3 apk in the google talk zip file embedded in this site the errors went away. I think it has to do with the fact that Android Market is tied to a google account and all of the "BUNDLED" google services. (ie wave, buzz, gmail, docs, calendar,etc....) So if you break talk - phone breaks you.

this is making me nuts, does anyone have a solution? I'm at a loss
I just re flashed midNIGHT rom for this reason... Sorry, no god solution. I was going to try and adb push Talk.apk but I was on the bus... Likely it would work. I have been using the acs deodexed rom for the source of Swype and Memo after.installing custom roms that don't have it... It's worked well so far

This is something that I've been messing with for the last few days. I've never tried modding stuff before now, but hopefully this will pass for a decent one.
It isn't the final that I am hoping for, but so far so good. I have just ran short on ideas. And I am game for just about any suggestions.
If anyone would like to try this just flash the zip in CWM. It modifies images in 2 files, all located in system/apps. They are... Acer Ring.apk, as well as systemui.apk
It has only been tested on my tablet which is running Civato's Flexreaper R1 with the v4 bootloader. I Can't say anything for compatability with other roms. I would guess that it will be fine tho.
My request to those that install this would be to please share any ideas for some of the other system icons (specifically those visible on the home screen.). Icons like the wifi (needs to be something that has levels for power indication.), the microphone up near the search bar and the app drawer launcher icon.
Screenies...

I will add to this as time permits. I'd love to do something with the lock screen, just need to figure out where that sucker's hiding...
Also, if you do something goofy and bork your tablet, as usual, it's all on you...
Enjoy!
p.s. Thanks to Civato for the great rom, and unknowingly giving me a little nudge in the right direction. Plus I used his MOD installer zip and FlexReaper rom as the base for this.

So I know that the oppo find 5 is fairly of a new device and not many people have it, yes there is support from a various users and groups (even the CM team has jumped on nightly builds on it) Anyway I want to write to you guys that in the venture of me trying to port a various "ROM" my oppo find 5 would get stuck on the splash screen Green Oppo Letters.I would try to use fastboot to get it back but I never got anywhere. The main problems were that I couldn't get into my previous ROM or the new one I flashed NOR could i get into recovery since I was stuck on the boot screen.
I found a really nice script on the oppo find 5 bricked thread and I modified it with a more "instructional process" to help us oppo find users get back into recovery after failed attempts of trying to get into a rom.
**Please note that for some odd reason the oppo find 5 takes like 1-2 minutes to boot into recovery after this process. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY.**
Also once you get into recovery in this case TWRP i would definately reccomend doing a back up > mounting SD card and transferring it to your PC.

Hi all,
Since a long, long, long time i was away from xda forums :crying:
I decided to go back just to post an easy way to root Lenovo K910 (vibe z) with the latest VIBEUI2.0 [
I've bought this piece of hardware today and for the last 4 hours i had to read, read, read but...nothing regarding the latest version with KitKat 4.4.2
So, let's cut the crap and go on with it! :silly:
Download VIBEUI_V2.0_1433_4_ST_K910_WC97 from here
Install it through Lenovo recovery the downloaded file [VIBEUI_V2.0_1433_4_ST_K910_WC97]:victory:
Reboot (this may take a while)
Download RootGenius from here
Run Root Genius from PC and click "ROOT"
and...that's it
Optional:
Install Gaaps from here
Install Xposed from here
Install VibeXpert from here
Install any root explorer and delete crappy apps
It's really hard isn´t it?!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This will void your warranty
You'll loose unlock bootloader yet you still get rooted
Please try and help each other since i had absolutely no time (that's why i didn´t loging here for the last 2 years. I just want to post this here to help who needed.
All links provided from it's own users. If something not working, just tell. Just VibeUI2.0 link's mine and please...don't ask for mirrors.

I ran a test with bluebox's "trustable" app on my new Droid MAXX System Version 24.3.7 SU6-7 (just got it today new out if box in that firmware..) Anyway Trustable is a really cool app that tells you what insecurities your stock ROM/kernel or even custom roms and kernels may have present. I noticed that there is an insecure region in the GraphicsBuffer of Libui called CVE. Both the RAZR M and RAZR HD are rootable via the CVE exploit (which is apparently an insecurity in all Android Versions 5.0 and below.) The root tool for the Razr M and HD is a .bat windows script called "Hydrogen Peroxide". The mechanism that it works by is pretty neat, and it's a good 10 minute or so process, but in both those phones (I've tested both) root is granted with write protection turned off AKA a hard reboot won't kill the root... I'm not brave enough to experiment with any of this myself being that I literally just got this phone, but if any developers could look into this weakness for the possibility of a root exploit, well that'd just be awesome. @sd_shadow and @tokarenok are the OPs in the Razr M and HD threads and if we can use their same process for rooting, proper credit should be given. http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/general/root-droid-razr-hd-xt926-183-46-15-t3062040 <-- Razr HD Hydrogen Peroxide thread.
Here's a screenshot of Bluebox's report.

It seems people are already looking into exploiting CVE-2015-1474, but a working exploit doesn't seem to exist yet.
This thread work for my motorola droid ultra non-dev? Sorry my english is bad. I can't understand some text...
