1. do you have partition on sd card?
2.did you copy Android folder to root of sdcard and owerwrited
it?
3.did you set in titanium backup to restore backups to internal?
and try KMapp to check out if hd2sd is ticked in app....
and under hds2d settings in KMapp check if you have ticked following:
app, log, dalvik cache..under dalvik cache there are few options what to move....and remeber: it is important that you copy this folder(Android) to root of ur sdcard...
http://db.tt/b5ahm2zW
unzip it to sdcard and owerwrite it....

You need to put a space between the command "cat" and the file "/data2sd.log" so that it reads "cat /data2sd.log"

what r u saying is first u enable hybrid app2sd after that u make partition..?
it very simple just follow this STEP BY STEP... which Kyrillos said..
Optional, Enable Hybrid Data2sd [More space for apps!]
- Make a backup of your sdcard, enter CWM recovery and go to Miscellaneous => Partition SD Card. Choose the sizes you want (Recommended:512-1Gb ext, and 0mb swap]. After the partition completes, wipe data and reboot. You can now copy back all your sdcard files which you did a backup.
- Then copy the contents of the sdcard folder in your sdcard and reboot. No wipe data required, the first reboot may take time.
- Install titanium and go to titanium backup's preferences, and select Restore Backups to => Internal Storage. Then do your restore...

How to unpartition?
Hi, I used kyrillos rom before I installed cm7 a7 and in kyrillos I enabled HD2S and partitioned my sdcard with 512mb, after some time I installed a fresh copy of cm7 from odin, and my sdcard still has a maximum of 6.9GB instead of 7,4gb so i was wondering if there is a way to restore my sdcard to it's previous state?
A Little Help Plz
I installed kyrillos 9.0....
Updated to v9.5....Successfully!
Copied the four files necessary for HYBRID DATA2SD to my sd card
Went into cwm nd partitioned my sd card ..... successfully!
Installed Titanium Backup which shows the partition (a2sd)
went into terminal evaluator which shows hybrid data2sd script running
But still whenever i install apps, my internal memory gets low ???
I installed Kmapp also and have HYBRID DATA2SD enabled with "app, dalvik cache & log" checked
What did i do wrong?
Remedies please..
Thanks In advance

Files on internal not really there

Ok, this has me really scratching my head. I use ClockworkMod recovery to make backups. When backups are made, they go into a folder called clockworkmod/backup and get a name that is a date and time stamp. For some reason, the date is in the past. Lately, my backups get file names like "1970-5-16.10.40.36". Not a big deal...I now rename them as soon as they are made.
Here's the wierd part. I use FX file explorer and the stock file app. If I search for files/folders that contain "1970" I only get 2 hits. I can manually navigate to the folders that contain those backup files. They are real. If I go into ClockworkMod recovery and do a restore, I can choose from internal (default) or I can choose from the external SD card (the microSD card that can be removed). If I decide to go with the external SD card, I have one backup to choose from. I've seen that file on the card. It's there. If I choose to restore from the internal I have 4 to choose from. One that I have seen using file management and 3 others that I cannot find on my card. They have the same file name protocol as the others. All start with "1970". According to CWM recovery, they are in the "sdcard/clockworkmod/backup" folder. Don't confuse that with the external SD card, because the one on the removable microSD card is in "external_sd/clockworkmod/backup" according to CWM.
I have successfully restored to two of those backup files that cannot be found (by file management) on the SD or internal storage. Yes I have "show hidden" selected in the file management apps.
I no longer need those phantom backups, yet I cannot delete them, as they cannot be found by file management. I know they are there. I have proven that by restoring two of them. Backups that I have on my device that can be seen by file management apps take up about 2GB each, so I have about 6GB of storage consumed by files that I cannot delete!
And now the math problem. FX file explorer has a feature where you can sort files/folders by size. My internal storage is showing 9.6GB capacity with 1.3GB free. So I've used 8.3 GB. Easy math. When I analyze the internal storage, my largest folder is the "Android" folder and it is 1.4GB, which shows as 68% of the 8.3GB used. "DCIM" takes up another 25% at 523.2MB. All other folders are less than 1%. The point is that if I take my top two file sizes (1.4GB + 532.2MB = 1.932GB) and they make up 94% of my used 8.3GB, then something is not right. 94% of 8.3GB is 7.802GB. Now take that 1.932GB that is shown and add the (presumed ~2GB per backup of the 3 phantom files) 6GB of lost files...you get...about 7.8GB. Are you with me here?
WTF? Again... I know the files are on the device. I can use CWM to navigate to them. I can restore them and have had no issues using those restore points.
Here's an update. I have plenty of space on the removable microSD card. I created a folder called "stuff from the internal storage" and copied all of the files and folders from internal storage to it. While the copy was happening (using FX File Explorer) it showed it was copying 2GB of data. That is about right if you look at the math above. After copying the files, I deleted everything from the internal storage except the "Android" folder, again using FX File Explorer.
With "show hidden" selected, and having deleted everything else from the internal storage, FX is now saying I have used 9.6 GB with 1.6GB free. And the only folders in the internal storage are the "Android" folder which shows to be 1.4GB and 2 other folders that generated after a reboot. These numbers jive with the stock file management app also.
My next post will be screen shots of FX showing these files and their usage.
The screen showing usage of locatons...

Browse using system (root) to /storage/emulated/0 and see if that shows any extra files or if you can then modify files.
I recommend backing up your important files to an external SD card or computer or cloud and then physically remove your external sdcard and go to your devices' recovery (cwm) and format the internal sdcard from the mounts menu
Then you can selectively restore your files from your backup.

I found that I could delete those extra backups from within CWM recovery. In the future I will back up to my removable sd card so the files can be renamed.

In cwm goto mounts & storage and mount system
If system is mounted it will display "unmount system"
You can then flash a zip

You only have to mount system and sometimes data to flash a zip
If you get an error mounting partitions it means they are not correctly formatted
If you get error mounting sd-ext it means you either haven't got a 2nd ext sd card partition or you didn't create it correctly
Either way you can create one in cwm under the partitions section (note it will format your sd card)

There are some questions in my mind.
should I install the same roms?
Is it possible if I just install the kernels?
I am using the stock rom for my gt-s6102. I haven't changed the kernel.

This does not relate to the thread topic so I will only answer this off topic question once
You can use any kernel you like for your device as long as it's for type of rom you are using - ie stock based kernels for stock based roms or cm kernels for cm roms
You can use custom stock based kernels on stock rom

So do you mean that I can still install the 'Ext-S' without changing my roms (as in the #1 post he used XDuosV3 v2.0)? (I have installed Compact Kernel V1.3)
coz he mention something about 'deodexed roms'. (I don't really understand this)
I doubt the app "Ext Manager" couldn't work properly as if I dont change the rom either.
**EDIT (I mean on the #2 post not #1, sorry)

[Solved] "System Memory" filling internal storage

Basically my entire internal storage is being filled by what android is calling "System memory," which happens to be about the same size as these images from safestrap. If I mount my phone and have explorer add up the storage for internal memory it counts only 200mb but still says its nearly full (out of the 10gb available). My current theory is that these safestrap images, which appear to be the filesystem that is my internal storage are accidentally mounted in a place that android is counting towards the total amount of data. I've attached screenshots of the disk usage in the setting showing the System memory and diskusage showing the /datamedia folder where the safestrap images are mounted for some reason.

Anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it? Oh and I'm running eclipse rom if that matters to anyone.

How big did you make your ROM slot? You didn't leave it at the default size, did you? That would be almost 6 GB.

TWRP says my rom slot partitions are the following:
System: 3gb total, 1gb free
Data: 6.3gb total, 3gb free
Cache: 300mb, 285mb free
Clearly that's what disk usage is seeing, but that shouldn't be mounted right? The internal storage should be the content of the data partition right? Or is there another partition that is the rest of internal storage after those two where my files are actually stored?

The internal storage is a total of all three. Everything is completely separate from the stock slot. This is why most people use the stock slot and don't even mess with slots. You can delete that slot and recreate it. Decrease the size of the data slot to around 1000mb to save some space.

Yeah, I was trying to install the updated twrp to resize the slot, not remembering that I had to do safestrap and couldn't update it, and I broke the install and had to flash back to stock. I just overwrote the stock slot and everything is better now. Thanks for pointing out that this was a partition issue. There should really be something in the beginner threads that says to just use the stock slot since I see people asking the same question on tons of forums and not getting the answer.

[Q] 8gb Internal Memory became 4gb After Flashing CM12.1

After flashing CM12.1 my internal storage only shows 4gb of total space. The phone originally came with 8gb of internal storage, and is just after I did this that it was reduced. I did clean up all the Dalvik cache, I also tried doing a new factory reset, but still it's showing only 4gb. Is this normal?
Anyone?..
4.5gb /data
2gb /system
boot, recovery, /cache ... etc. the rest gbs
and that's 8gb distributed on all the partitions needed for any android system to work.
samsung in a way is trying to make you think that you can use the hole 8 gb, but you cant because the system needs half of that
Thanks for response. My question was.. is it normal that the total storage before was 8GB but after flashing CM12.1 it became 4GB?
Stock ROM and before flashing:

After Flashing to CM12.1:
So where did the remaining 4GB?
yeah its normal, cm shows only the data partition size witch is around 4.5gb and Samsung shows the whole size witch includes system, cache, recovery, boot ... etc partitions witch is 8gb
Sent from my SM-J500H using XDA Labs
Thank you so much for the quick response. All my queries has been solved now. Appreciate your help sir..

My phone used to have 8gb before flashing now it has 4gb. Please note that it includes 2.5gb which is for system data and the rest is for use. Is this normal? And what can be done to rectify this?

1. Install OrageFox recovery (Not tried this on TWRP)
installation link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/official-orangefox-recovery-project-t3941742
2. On OrangeFox recovery=> Menu=> Manage Partitions
3. Then do Resize FS for Data and System
Thats all
I also faced this issue. This methode is worked for me
