Hi guys,
I have a Galaxy Note 3 that I bought off the internet (I know, but it was a good deal!). Unfortunately I didn't check before hand and the phone is Australian. I would like to get English Android on it so it works properly over here (still running on Jelly Bean as there is no update for Ausie software). What is the best way of doing this and what are the pro's and con's of doing so? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,
Stu
Hey Stuj79,
Do you have your exact model of your Note 3? You can see this in Settings > General > About device > Model number
Sincerely,
Thanks for the reply. It's a SM-N9005

What is your CSC?
Use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get all major info about the phone. It is important to know when you are going to flash another stock firmware.

CSC = Consumer Software Customization, also known as: Sales Code, or Region Code
It is very important when you want to flash the stock firmware.
Open 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app, you will see the 'CSC INFO' section.
Ok, just downloaded that app."Original", "Firmware and "Active" CSC codes are XSA, CSC country is Australia and Production code is SM-N9005ZKEXSA. Any help to you?

Go to 'Firmware Browser' menu to get the latest firmware.
Or you can get firmware from the other regions, e.g. BTU (United Kingdom). Just enter 'BTU' in the CSC textbox and tap 'Go' button.
Nice one.....where can I find the Firmware browser? Been looking but can't see it anywhere

Great tip. Didn't know that such an app existed. Would have been useful last week when I screwed up my CSC. I had to mess with Odin to get it back to normal.
Are you the creator of this app?

Ok, I have Odin V3.09 open the computer, I am currently downloading the firmware I would like to flash. Just out of curiosity, how much info will I loose from my phone when I start this, i.e. apps, pictures/photo's, messages?
All done. Was a lot quicker and easier to do than I thought. I know have UK software and not Aussie and have finally upgraded to KitKat. Yipee! Thanks for your help

You can use this app to change your CSC. However, two things.
A. You need to be rooted beyond XXELLA
B. Your selected rom needs to support multi csc
( tried that before but doesn't work as its unrooted and on stock software

It should work, but you need to root if you're on XXELLA or above
Sorry not that much of a techie :silly: what is XXELLA? So it doesn't need to be rooted? Because when i press change CSC it comes up with com.android.preconfig not found on your device and takes me to the dialer with *#272*1759# already punched in?? After ringing that I get Connection problem or invalid MMI code.

Xxella would be a 4.1.2 firmware.
It would look like your stock setup doesn't have a multi CSC setup so I'm not sure if you're able to change to BTU

if I am not wrong you need:
(1) be rooted to change the CSC
(2) after that you can use the tool mentioned before and/or flash a BTU rom
or maybe easier:
just flash the newest 4.3 rom version (you can do this without root as well I think)
Flash the latest 4.3 rom for the UK, using odin and following the guide in sticky thread.
Factory reset from recovery, reboot and csc should match the firmware.

I'm pretty sure this method will default the CSC to "KOR"
You want to flash the ELL4 U.K. firmware from the stock firmware thread. Download the S2/S3 CSC changer app from the play store and set the CSC to BTU.
This will factory reset the device, so make sure you have your important files backed up.
Then proceed to flash MK6 4.3. Now everything will match.

If you flash a untouched 4.3 rom thru odin it does not void the warranty. It will read official in Odin. At least on my phone it did. Like they said earlier they should have a uk version floating around somewhere. Otherwise just leave it alone and wait for the update. I hope that helps
Hello, please i need firmware 4.3 for n9005 with all files ie. bootloader, pit, pda, and csc...thanks
+1 why xda dont have Stock ROM's? is it illegal?
Try looking at sammobile.com, it appears to have all newest firmwares.
2 options :
1. You can ask at your local butchers store
2. Google is your friend

The easiest way to obtain stock firmwares for your device is install this app Phone INFO ★Samsung★, then open the menu --> select 'Firmware Browser...'

How did you change the CSC? By using my app 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' --> 'Other Tools' menu --> 'CSC Changer'?
You said that 'after few weeks it back again to the original csc'? So does it also factory-reset your device? Without your intervention or confirmation?
hello i am using s7 edge g935f and i use odin to flash another country firmware with out home csc how i can now see what is my default firmware county so i flash back??
Phone INFO ★Samsung★
If you plan to return to your original csc keep in mind that you need either a single-csc-firmware or a multi one with your csc as default.

Oh, you've already flashed a different one... sorry for misunderstanding.
Use the emergency recovery of Smart Switch as it gets the designated firmware for your device based on your serial (you need to enter).

Please help me,, i have a samsung galaxy s5 neo (g903f). But, imei null, wifi not working, and baseband unknown... How i can fix it?
Sorry for my bad english
1. Remove that cancer (emoji)
2. Remove your IMEI from the post
3. Sammobile is where you download firmwares from. It does not matter what country, because G9xxF is intended for European market.
4. Go to IMEI.info, input your IMEI and you'll see a green Warranty button right under the image of the phone, on the right side of the page. Here you input your Serial Number (SN) and it'll say where it was made. Most likely Vietnam.

Rewrite firmware. Try and see if it helps. Otherwise, to a repair shop with it. What did you do to damage it?
