Help Weird Scrolling - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Is it normal to have this weird effects when you scroll through a dark/black background? For example Titanium Backup. Go through the app list page and scroll. There is this pinkish blur effect thing going on. It's not present in all apps like settings, my files and etc. Just some apps like Themer and TB with dark backgrounds.
Please do respond so I can remedy my screen if it's broken or something lol. Thanks!

Yes, it's normal when on low brightness, S4 did the same thing.

Banding on google screen is it normal ?

Love the fact that the s3 has no apparent banding on most screens however ive noticed on the google email creation page there is banding ... also where the same blue is used (mainly on email sign up pages) the same banding is there
Has anyone else got this ?
Every other page is crisp and no banding i just wonder more that worry why the google page has it ?
On my note a lot of pages have banding so im not that worried its a 1000% better

I was always under the impression that was actually the design of that background image.
Hello.
Try that...
It will fix your problem.
It will work to any rom you have.
Credits goes to Zabalba for his work.
It is a default ugly background that appears in some settings/apps. It is the wrong choice of background as it makes the amoled black look like lcd black if you don't know it is the background.

Are you sure this only happens on that specific page? For me, it happens on all pages with that background.

Weird blue tinge

Hey guys I don't know if there is something up with my device or this problem is standard, the thing is that my email app (not Gmail just email) and my stock browser have a weird blue tinge to them, when I switch back to some other programs or apps the colors come back to normal, the brightness on these two apps also reduce as compared to my normal settings, any help is appreciated, cheers

Those apps have their own power saving/brightness controls.
Check the settings menu when you are inside those apps. I know for sure the stock browser has its own display settings that are independent of the system settings.
Hey mate thanks for the reply, now I'm starting to get a bit worried because even before I tinkered around with anything the color changed back to its normal hue, not sure what exactly is going on

Galaxy beast - 2nd edition
Hey guys to anyone out there that is interested in what was going on, I actually found out that the power saving option on the galaxy note 2 turns the background color of the stock browser and the email and possibly a few more apps from white to a blue hue, mystery solved....... Gallery App

Hi all! Has anyone else noticed when viewing photos or videos through the Gallery App that there's a noticeable difference in colour? Much like using Composite over RGB Scart, the colours appear to be washed out. It even affects other apps in Multi-Window too.
Anyone?
Go into Gallery, select any album, look at all photos within that album to get an idea of how they look, then start a sideshow. You'll notice the colours are a lot more vibrant during the slideshow (like they are when using any other app) compared to when viewing photos manually. Why is this?

It was on, but there's still a noticeable difference. I'm using an unrooted GT-N7100, running 4.1.1. It's only when viewing photos/videos in the Gallery app and videos in the Video Player app, not navigating.

When you tap 'Start Slideshow,' you can actually see the colours change for a split second before the screen goes black and starts the slideshow. You can also see this in 'Crop.'
Most of the rom araond here are castom and working with the new gallery 4.2

Charging as I type

I just got it it's charging at the moment any hints or tips for this tablet? Or any settings recommendations?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Jus run through the settings one by one and deselect anything that sounds like it might waste battery. Qslide, knock on, all nice touches but both waste that extra bit of juice and I can do without.
Enjoy
Ok thanks also what screen brightness do you have yours on?

Dude, why are you asking us? How can we know what brightness do you like? Which settings do you need? Just explore and try everything yourself.

Sound advice. I have tried daily at 50 60 70% and full. Personally I find full brightness too bright for web browsing.
Just have a good play

A he never asked that. He asked what brightness do YOU have it on. You do know people do this all the time. Just look into monitors at Hard forums. People love to know all the settings people use. People will say they get the best battery life with.. and then post.
Ok so I have it set up using nova Launcher just like on my note 3 I'm loving the tablet so far only this that's annoying me is the bar with the touch buttons at the end, as in when I'm using apps I don't get the full screen I guess it's something I will just have to get used to.

or just root and use one of the many apps. If you install the G2 xposed framwork you can make it really small. or if you install UDN Lite you can select auto hide
Do I have to root to use one of those apps?

If it's not shown on a recorded video then it's clearly a manufacturer problem and you need to get it replaced.
:/ Can you test to put completly white background and put widget s note and if you have bug you will se some bugs on book when sc3olling slowly,I tested on every other colors and its normal. How screen can be bad just on white color?and that apper only on home screen.

I honestly don't see what you're seeing from the video, seems normal to me. If you can tell me the exact time stamp of the video and what to look out for?
EDIT: I see it, it's a black thing on your screen like when a video buffers, or when the GPU is actually being used it flickered. Go get it fixed, that's not normal. I can't try it at the moment but if everyone had this problem, it wouldn't be a concern at your end then.

Just open the numpad and dial, do NOT tap on the Call button.
If nothing happen, may be your phone does not recognize these secret codes. You can try this Shortcut Master app, go to 'Secret Code Explorer' menu, scroll down to 0* and 7353 code, and tap on it to launch.
This is particular codes to test your phone's hardware.

On normal stock ROMs, that would never have been selected, let alone Developer Options being activated at all.
If you had Developer Options activated then that is what you should take a look at first.
