Hi Guys,
Im new on the Android World. I have a new Motorola Milestone 2 from the Claro Company in Argentina with the Android 2.2 with motoblur. Somebody told me an Android update should increase the performance of my phone, but Claro wont offer me any update for the moment.
Doing some research I realized that I can perform my own "UNOFFICIAL" update porting these "customized" roms. Here is where Im a litle lost.
I have red a lot of info and a lot of different ways to flash the phone and port a new rom. So, I kindly ask you to give me some guidance on this. Here are my questions:
How can I upgrade mi Android?
Which is the correct procedure?
Which ROM to use for mi Milestone 2?
I have red some post of users that bricked their phones during the process. Is this real? Can I loose my phone doing this?
I would really appreciate your help with this.
Thanks a lot.
every rom have diferent procedure.
you can try this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216705
i tested 5 diferent rom and don't bricked my phone. If you have full batery always when phone don't boot you can flash stock android via rsd.
Every time when i change 2.2.2 to 2.3.4/5 i have gsm problem but this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182050
everytime solved it
Thanks!
Thanks for the info, I am trying different roms now.
There are currently 3 roms in development session!
I recommend CM7. great

Double pressing can be fixed without flashing a ROM. Search the forum, there is a fix.
For multitouch there is a Defy multitouch app.
Hello everyone I'm new here I just recently rooted my Galaxy S4 i9500 and I want to put in cool speedy Rom.
I also heared that I can combine it with lolipop or something? I dont realy understand it yet I hope you can explain it to me help me choose what's best for me without bricking my phone....
Also I would like to know what apps I must have after rooting or what apps you recommand for me?
Any help will be aprreciate thanks for all !
Start reading as much as you can on this forum and learn from it.
You won't brick your phone, that's almost impossible. That has never happend when flashing custom roms.
Just flash a custom recovery for the i9500 and start flashing the rom you want to try. Always read the first post of the rom and probably the last few pages of the thread.
First of all thank you for the reply, Finaly!
Someone offered me the omni rom with lolipop.
I mainly looking for speedy tweakinish rom and it seems awsome,
but maybe there more roms even better?
also I saw you need to delete anything from the phone
b4 you put a new rom so my question is how I save the
important apps and data and if i can skip all the crap i used to have??
Question
Hi! I have a Galaxy S4 LTE (I9506) and i'm on stock rom (4.4.2, I9506XXUCNF3). I successfully installed a TWRP recovery via ODIN. Root done and it works. Now i want to flash the PAC lollipop ROM. Do i need something else to do before flashing? Thank you in forward!
Hello to All
I am creating this thread because I can't find a thread on XDA dedicated to G3's Korean version F400S/L/K and I think it's worth having a dedicated thread.
Here are some goals I would like us to achieve on this thread
1 Gather information about the Customs ROMs/Kernel/MODs for F400 variant scattered around on XDA or any other forum like Lgviet etc.
2 Share your experience with the ROMs you tried on F400.
3 Try to find out a stable ROM for F400 by sharing your experience.
4. Share you experience with different experiments you did on your F400 e.g trying a ROM not intended for Korean G3.
etc etc etc
Please go on and share your thoughts
I have personally used these ROMs on F400L
Cloudy 2.2
CM 12 and CM 12.1
Resurrection Remix LP
BlissPop 2.0 and 3.2
In my experience I found Blisspop have most customization options in particular the capability to change screen dpi. On other AOSP based the font appears to be too small for me.
Another noticeable thing is that you have the option to change animation level to .75 which I think is not available in other custom ROMKs.
About performance, this ROM runs very smooth because default animation scale is set to .75.
ROM has awesome stand by battery timing but currently I'm only getting 3 to 3.5 hours of screen on time.
I had a small Question/Doubt
I recently purchased LG G3 F400K from ebay in India.
Was wondering if i can install the stock D855 (International Version) Stock ROM on this?
[NOOB Question] What could i gain/loose possibly?
Also, How can i make the Korean fonts at some places to appear in english/ How can i make the ROM appear FULLY in english (everything in Eng)?
Thanks in advance.
i have F400s version ....
i am on cloudyg3 2.2 for now ...
i tried blisspop, cm12 , Resurrection remix ...
and all working v.good for me ...
.....
in recent weeks i tried dualboot patcher ... and i installed AOSP rom beside my primary rom (cloudyg3) ... and it was very good ...
be careful with flashing any rom that is not listed for out korean version (self opinion) ...
if you have a question ask me ...
.....
but ...
i have a question : how can i reach recovery mode without app nor ADB ... ( like using vol. down + power key in D855 versions ) ??

I will recommend you to use cloudy ROM. It will solve all the problems you are having with Korean stuff and this ROM is based on stock G3 ROM.
But before doing this you have to root your G3.
If you try to flash D855 ROM on your Korean model you will end up probably with no signal, Wifi and Bluetooth will not work. You can even end up soft bricking your device.

Quick Question,
Since i am new with G3 (Although I have Xperia Z1 Compact and Nexus 6), I searched for the Root methods and got surprised to see so many. Could you please provide me the link to the rooting method which worked for you guys for F400K.
Also, For updating to Cloudy G3 2.2, is it ok to root on kitkat rom (stock which came out of the box), install TWRP, take full backup and then install?
Or should i install Stock Korean Lollipop firmware first? (If yes, request you to please point me to that as well, sorry for being demanding though)

To enter recovery mode, you have to press vol.down + powerkey. When the LG logo appears, quickly press vol.down + vol.up. Before you do, make sure the power is shutdown completely (by remove battery). And note that you need to do very quick it very quick. I often success in one third of time.

I use this for rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
And yes, you can upgrade straight from kitkat rom. Btw, I'm not responsible if you brick your device or your girl friend broke up with you because you destroy her phone.

Thanks a lot . That made my life a lot easier.
Another thing i had in mind is, can we use system.img from the D855 (International version) and mix with "Radio.img and boot.img" of our F400K version's, so that it is completely stock and it boots up fine with Radios also working well?

Theoretically it seems correct but this won't work.
You will still face problems with Radio.
I tried the same with AOSP rom but it didn't work
If we've spent so much, we can try, u never know - maybe its worth the try
But, for that, what files will we need and from where? And how do we de-compile/re-compile
it is wooooooooooooork thanX br0 ^_^
@2e6
Hi.
I've had the g3 for about 2 weeks now and I'm loving every bit of it. I've had a few questions regarding mine.
My device is F400s running v20f (lollipop) and I've been thinking of flashing cloudyG3 on it. The procedure would be this right,
1. Backup internal storage
2. Flash .tot of v10e (KitKat)
3. Root it using purpledrake
4. Flash twrp
5. Flash cloudyG3
Now what I don't know is, how do I flash twrp and how to enter recovery mode? By pressing power+vol down button nothing happens.
Thank you.
PS: sorry for being a noob. Never used an lg device before.

1- you can flash TWRP using twrp manager app (you must be have root)
2-if you want to get in recovery mode press vol. down + power key till you see LG logo then press ((((vol down+ vol. up))) " but use this step after intalling TWRP ...
note : you can root your mobile using 'towelroot.apk" good and easy one
if you have any other question just ask

Hello to all;
Do YOU know about some good, working ROM flash /gapps/kernel for LG l7 P705 ?
Is there a STOCK ROM for these LG L7 p705 phones higher than 4.1.2 jelly beans?
///presently , I managed ( somehow?) to make it work with:
4.1.2 STOCK ROM ( software P705g20a) / baseband MSM7227A-1-AA ///
longer story here, if you want read some more... and thank you
Is there any good working ROM flash for Lg L7 p705 around here?
If somebody knows, please, let me know, as I have not been able to find one, which would work well??!!!
I managed to flash CWM, and to root the original very slow Lg L7 P705 with the original 4.0.1. ROM.
I have found some ROMs here in forum...
tried> [ROM][P700/P705][KITKAT 4.4.4][KTU84Q]UNOFFICIAL CM11 by IMER >> many issues with it...probably mismatched baseband and gapps....
then >>I have found 4.1.2 stock jelly bean on another site and somehow managed to flash it on that phone>>> was not happy that I was back in stock ROM>> so I decided to flash it again with [L7][ROM][4.3.0][JSS15J][ALPHA 1.5] Unofficial CyanogenMod 10.2
this time I forgot to clean cache and partition.. and managed to soft brick the phone..... flashing software..CWM could not "see" the phone... NIGHTMARE.. it was constantly looping or did not turn on /or did not turn off??!!!! I could not even get it to emergency mode
I have spent 1 day searching for something to flash that phone now set in emergency mode>>> I finally found.. somewhere...
p705g209 STOCK ROM / build JZ054K jelly bean 4.1.2 with baseband MSM 7227A-1-AA and was lucky that it was the right North American build with the right baseband...
OK.. enough of my story>>>> ANY OTHER GOOD WORKING ROM BUILD FOR THIS OLD THING HERE.. PLEASE... or as my gut tells me: "keep these "jelly beans" on this phone"... as it is very hard to find any other ROM for this phone, which would work for Rogers/North America baseband and this model!!!!???
THANKS..... I have spent so many hours trying to make this phone work faster , BUT ended up only having "jelly beans" instead of the "ice cream sandwich".... oh boy.... this a time consuming hobby> " playing with phones"
Thanks guys for any suggestions, or links to more adventurous flashing and phone bricking endeavours
Yo guys, so it's been a long time since i've been on the rooting scene and i guess im back but i realised there's no android sdk as it's Android Studio. is it exactly the same in terms of giving me the fastboot and ADB files?
Also, back to the main topic of this.
I have an LG G2 D802 which is running 4.4.2 Kitkat and on software version D80220c-AME-XX
Links to any root guides would be useful, for now i'm trying this guide and i'll let you know how it goes.
As for the ROM, i know there's no 'best' ROM but i want one that's on the latest Android OS (I guess the latest stable for this phone would be LP) and is Stable. I really just want to flash a custom ROM once and keep using that without having to keep updating it.
Hoping for some quick replies.
Cheers!
What i did was that i first upgraded to stock lollipop by downloading the kdz and then rooted by the oneclick tool by avicohh then custom recovery by autorec and then flaahed cloudyG2 3.3

Hmm, im reluctant to update to Lollipop as i need the LG software installed on the laptop and etc.
I found this thread for IO Root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869 (Latest one i found so far)
I'll give this a try first because for my variant it says "ALL"
Also, in terms of stability, how is CloudyG2?
