Hello,
I'm having trouble looking this up mainly because I do not know how to word it for search.
I am looking for an app that allows me to choose download locations for individual files. So if my friend sends me a picture I want to be able to choose where in the phone the picture is saved, instead of just being saved into the download folder. Is there such app in existence?
The XDA community has always been helpful I thank you in advance for any information given.

how the hell do you send multiple files through bluetooth. its not possible to do this. i can only send one file then i have to send the other. i wan to highlight say 3 music tracks and send them using bluetooth. but it dont let me. any help
Go into Settings tab > menu > all settings > bluetooth. Click right hand tab, select BT Send Object. Select Audio, highlight the files you want, press SEND.
And be glad you don't have an iPhone, which can't even send one file over bluetooth.
thanks man

Well I think you could have tried this, it is very obvious.
In file manager, tap & hold the file and select "Send via Bluetooth".
well, you can create a zip archive using any free tool and send them, I'm currently looking for an app that enables sending multiple files, but I only found old ones that support infra red >.>
it's helpful for sending multiple objects that don't appear in the BT send object menu
[edit] Resco File explorer apparently sends multiple files via bluetooth (sending different types of files at the same time as well), but it's a paid app
Use Dropbox
I've found a workaround... I send multiple photos to dropbox then cut/paste them from dropbox to whatever folder I want. That way I don't use up the allotted space with dropbox. Works for me!
Is there way to rip this app from Vibrant?
I got Galaxy S and I really love this app!
Or maybe there is similar app elsewhere ?
Any one ? Help.
Here's my dump of my Galaxy S System/App folder

Thanks for this. But I think i got a problem, coz I got custom deoxed ROM - I cannot install it.
is there any way to get audio postcard to communicate via Gmail and not via text msg (MMS)?
i don't have msging on my phone, but do have unlimited data - don't feel like paying $10+ for 2-4 uses a month
but it is a decent option for those who haven't tried it - hit it, camera opens, take a pix, another screen opens for the user to record a voice msg, then it asks who you'd like to send it to
as email addresses are one of the options, i assumed it would email - no luck - found the 8 attempts in the notification window showing me "MMS service not available"

I haven't really messed around with it but if it gives you an option to just save the file then you can do that. THen open gmail and attach the file.
tks for the suggestion, just checked - no option to save
Did you look in the gallery, I use this app all the time with the kids and it always saves the pictures, you don't have to choose save, as soon as you snap it, it's saved. I haven't changed any settings on mine and they save to /dcim/camera (or /sdcard/dcim/camera if using root explorer) Hope that helps.
they're there, but no voice attachment
tks - found "talking photos" on android market, it's a little cruder ie not as polished or as fluid in use, but works
Up!
Anybody got a version that I could install on international i9000 ?
Or maybe somebody got an idea for an app with this kind of funcionality ?

I got the .apk and the .odex file. How do I apply them? I tried to install the .apk manually and it failed. Do I add both files to a zip and flash via Clockwork Recovery?
Use root explorer and copy both files to system/apps folder
try using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10223438&postcount=1
Hi,
Apologies if there is a thread already but i couldnt see one looking for what i am. please do link if you feel i have missed it.
Every thursday there is a group of us that text jokes for the evening. i have foud in my windows mobile 6.5 that i can create a group but when i type the group name to forward the messages it doesnt pick it up?
Sometimes i send mine in the morning and forward the ones i have received to people not normally in that group. this is very long as i have to go into each message (30+ a night) and then add everyone in!
so i am looking for 2 things:
1. to be able to select multiple text messages and forward them in one go.
2. to be able to do the above but select a group of contacts for multiple sms.
Anyone know anything that can do this please?
I have an T-Mobile MDA Compact V otherwise known as the touch diamond 2. i am using the max sense energy ROM also.
Thanks
Paul
SMSSender
Try this program "The attached File"
<SMSSender>
1- You must make an Excel file (*.csv) Contains all the phone numbers you want to send SMS to them.
2- Import the file to the program.
3- Click "SEND" Icon
Thanks Shreef,
i did a search so i can have a look for more info but there seems to be quite a few out there with that name. Have you got a link to the website for more info for this one at all please?

As you know, the app currently allows viewing by missed OR dialed OR received calls, but we can't view ONLY our incoming and outgoing calls without also seeing the logs of text messages (i.e. we can't view only our calls!).
Adding a "see all calls" option to the existing list would solve this issue by excluding the messages from the list. (Duh, Samsung!)
I'd prefer adapting the existing phone logging function to a new app because a) this would hopefully be an easier mod than creating a new app, and b) this would allow the user to continue to keep a log of messaging but not have to look at it if they don't want to.
And by the way, c) you Developers ROCK!
+1
This new functionality is very ANNOYING!!!!
In the meantime. See if this meets your needs. Although it's not exactly what we need and someone still needs to fix this.
Instead of going to "Logs", go to "Favorites"
(Optional) Menu > Frequent first
(Optional) Menu > Grid View
UNFORTUNATELY this is only based on out-going calls.

There's a free app in the market called Advanced Call Log by NickyCho which does what I'm looking for -- anyone know a way I can have the phone app open this program instead of the stock log (when I open phone, and press the Logs button at the top of the app)?

Awesome, thanks! This works (so far) for me - I'm on dk17 currently using viperROM 2.6.
I downloaded the .apk from the thread, and then used root explorer to rename the existing LogsProvider.apk (found in /system/app) to Logsprovider.apk.bak. Then I pasted Mammon88's into the /system/app directory and rebooted. Voila! Only calls now. Thanks Mammon88! And posters who found it and posted it here!
I have seen several endorsements for sms backup and restore... but it doesn't support mms (yet). Anyone have suggestions for easily backing/restoring both sms/mms between ROMS. I've been losing pictures I didn't bother to manually download for quite a while and thought I would ask before I flashed the new gingersense. Thanks guys.
What I do is long press on the picture text and "save picture" to the sdcard. It will save it under a file called download.

Thanks, I do that, but was looking for a way to save them in the context of the thread
