Is there way to rip this app from Vibrant?
I got Galaxy S and I really love this app!
Or maybe there is similar app elsewhere ?

Any one ? Help.

Thanks for this. But I think i got a problem, coz I got custom deoxed ROM - I cannot install it.

is there any way to get audio postcard to communicate via Gmail and not via text msg (MMS)?
i don't have msging on my phone, but do have unlimited data - don't feel like paying $10+ for 2-4 uses a month
but it is a decent option for those who haven't tried it - hit it, camera opens, take a pix, another screen opens for the user to record a voice msg, then it asks who you'd like to send it to
as email addresses are one of the options, i assumed it would email - no luck - found the 8 attempts in the notification window showing me "MMS service not available"

I haven't really messed around with it but if it gives you an option to just save the file then you can do that. THen open gmail and attach the file.

tks for the suggestion, just checked - no option to save

Did you look in the gallery, I use this app all the time with the kids and it always saves the pictures, you don't have to choose save, as soon as you snap it, it's saved. I haven't changed any settings on mine and they save to /dcim/camera (or /sdcard/dcim/camera if using root explorer) Hope that helps.

they're there, but no voice attachment
tks - found "talking photos" on android market, it's a little cruder ie not as polished or as fluid in use, but works

Up!
Anybody got a version that I could install on international i9000 ?
Or maybe somebody got an idea for an app with this kind of funcionality ?

I got the .apk and the .odex file. How do I apply them? I tried to install the .apk manually and it failed. Do I add both files to a zip and flash via Clockwork Recovery?

Use root explorer and copy both files to system/apps folder

try using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10223438&postcount=1

[App Request] SMS/MMS Hide function

Hey guys and girls,
Ive got a Samsung Omnia (please no booing ) and I need an application to hide text and or mms messages. I work overseas from time to time with my business and my wife and I swap MMS and text messages to each other while I am away. Having a new phone means everyone wants to check it out and i certainly do not want anyone stumbling across any MMS or text messages my wife has sent me ;-)
I have already well and truly searched this forum and the only software I can find is by evolvens and it doesn work.
Im sure it couldnt be to hard for someone to code a little piece of software to hide sms or mms depending on who sent it?
Sorry if ive posted in the wrong section, id be willing to pay for the right app and im sure many others would as well.
Cheers
Dave
hey, i ran into a problem in my last relationship where i ended up dating 2 chicks... so i had their sms' saved using ez secret sms 2.0. basically, you can set it up to run in the background, and you set certain contacts to be received in this program instead of outlook. the program can be named anything you want. so i named it something boring like system priority. you click it, and it brings up a calculator. you put in the code you specified, and hit ok... and it opens your "secret inbox." you can also set it to notify you in some way that you received a text from whoever. i set it as "islanders won!" for one chick, and "rangers lost!" for the other... pretty simple program to use, and it works fairly well.
if you want to hide just the pics, you could always just save the pics and encrypt the folder using resco explorer with a password or something. but if you really want to save the actual sms, this program worked fairly well for me.
I agree - SMS Security is great - I use it on my Diamond with no problems
I don't think it willl work with MMS though. As the post above - save the image from your MMS into your main files in a private folder. Call that folder something odd and I'm sure you friends won't open it. If you really want to protect the images, you can lock just that file with Resco or I use VisCrypt
Thanks hays and ou2mame for your input, I will try ez secret sms,
hays is this the same program you use on your diamond?
Thanks again guys

Yes it is. It works 100%
It is easy to switch it on and off reverting back to normal diamond SMS
I've emailed the author to suggest a few minor tweaks and will report back

you are right 100%. the only way you can send it by bluetooth is by going into explorer and going into the actual folder where the pic is and then you have an option to send file by bluetooth otherwise you can not do it in sense...which does not make sense
You can do it from the "Pictures & videos" app, which is better than using file explorer, as you can send whilst browsing thumbnails, instead of just filenames.
Alternatively, there's a picture viewer by Resco that allows you to send via bluetooth.

also found a way to use the bluetooth app found in all settings but it is a bit clumsy and requires you to know the name of the file
there is also another way it can be done but not convenient at all...to go through bluetooth settings and find the paitring device and in file transfer pick the file you wish to send...but it is too much hassle that way
Der is an easier way use picture & video the one dats in the multimedia folder

Yeah, I totally agree. I wouldn't be suprised to see a hotfix for this at some point. It's hardly a deal-breaker, so it's the kind of thing HTC tend to fix

Moving SMS inbox contents from Samsung Wave to Galaxy S

Is there any way I can move my SMS inbox/sent items to the Galaxy S from my Samsung wave?
I bet you can use Kies to do that? Go backup your sms' on Kies, and I'm sure you can import them to the SGS.
Regards
I was able to do that one with my contacts, but so far didnt find a way with my inbox
I'm not familiar with Bada, can you install stuff from the market?

Yeah, I just had a look on Kies. Can copy texts from SGS to pc but not the other way around. Kinda sucks.
Only other thing I can think of is that apparently you should be able to backup sms to SD-card on the wave in the messaging app on the phone. Dunno how, but it's mentioned a few times on the web. Maybe that backup can be used?

I had a look at the manual, here: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...01984/GT-S8500_UM_Open_Eng_Rev.1.3_100511.pdf
On page 44, it says that you can select a message, then click the ... button, and select "Backup to memory card".
Usually this results in a .xml file. In that case, you can then use the SMS Backup and Restore app from the market, to import the xml file to your Galaxy S.
Hello All,
I have a similar question but for MMS. My wife used an old S8530 as spare phone ; now she will be happy if I can transfer her MMS to his newly repaired phone... (and a happy wife make a happy man... but that's another topic....)
So, for SMS, no pronblem, it works fine with kies ver 2.6.3 (but you need 2 mobiles compatible with kies). Just connect them in the same time on the computer, then in Kies select the wave and in section "backup/restore" select "transfer to another device", select the android phone and you are done.
Trouble : MMS are NOT transfered.
Any Idea on how to proceed with these ?
(and for information I found the option of saving the messages to SD card, but it saves only SMS)
All suggestions are welcomed.
Fred
(although note that I can NOT log on samsung app but after log the app crashes [so not possible to download app via this portal])

How do i send a contact to another galaxy s

Hi
I was trying to send a contact to my friend with the same phone
found it in contact list
hold click - send contact information
sent it by txt as words
I tried send namecard via
messaging
- may have converted to mms
- they received unknown.vcf
- click message plays nothing (scroll bar at bottom) MMS
- menu button
- attached items
- select tick box unknown.vcf
- "attachment copied to sd card"
-file manager - i think it was downloads
then it says save to 2 choices her email?? or phone??
both didn't work
i went to the default file browser on her phone to search for it later
the default file manager has no search??
i sent it via the built in gmail app
it removed the attachment every time
isn't it by K9 it got there but doesn't open
- attached items
- select tick box unknown.vcf
- "attachment copied to sd card"
-file manager - i think it was downloads
then it says save to 2 choices her email?? or phone??
both didn't work
How can i send a phone number to my friend? so it just pops up in her identical phone?
i think blue-tooth works but no good if she's not in the room.
it's blowing my mind
just get one of those QR code addons and make one on your phone and have your friend scan it
There is a BusinessCard application from Samsung Apps. It gives basic function for sending and importing vcf over SMS.
Otherwise, you can try search for such app from Market.
Try the app - Bump. I have it, but havent used it yet. seem's like it would be a simple cool app.
cheers i'll try it

No longer have the option to send pics or files using my messaging app.

I have a ZTE Blade Z982. I do not have the option to send pics of files from the default messaging app. The paperclip does not appear. I cannot receive pics or files as well. I have checked my settings and do not see anything that is preventing either issue. Does anyone have a solution?

Try resetting the app data then the device if that doesn't work I'd suggest android messenger be installed u probably have some kind of limit set on your file send size though
