Hi, I've searched and there doesn't seem to be any thread about my topic for the S5.
I've just got mine yesterday. After playing around with it and watching some videos on Instagram, I've notices some artifacts in my videos.
I've tested it with everything including my own recorded videos that I've taken with the S5. Every single video I tried viewing showed artifacts. Now I'm seeing if anyone else has this problem?
I've taken a screenshot of a youtube video for example.
It's fpsrussia if anyone's wondering.
(I couldn't post outside links since I don't have 10 post yet)

Thanks!
Ok, I just went to the store. Turns out mine's defective. So I should be able to exchange it as long as I got the box and receipt and everything.

I got my Droid X, two days ago, and taking videos and playback was fine. I rooted yesterday and installed a couple of apps and removed some bloatware (none I need, I looked at the Wiki). Today I tried to take a video and all I get is a fuzzy video preview image, and the whole video is the same, I tried changing from HD recording with no luck still. Im still on 2.1, and im not sure if rooting caused this, but is there a fix? Or is ne1 else experiencing this problem?
my aunt just got a new note 4 a couple hours ago and everything works and looks fine except when you play a Facebook video, you tube or even a video that your record playback is blotchy with a couple lines that move around the video with a greenish tint and the videos are just gross to watch, pictures and everything on the phone is just fine. videos are the only problem, does anyone know what this is and how i can maybe fix it, thanks

I've not heard of this issue before but perhaps a software update will help?
Has it been updated to the latest Lollipop ROM available for the device and region?
Considering that photos appear to be free of the glitch I'd assume it's a software issue.
Try an OTA software update and if not then flash a stock ROM via ODIN?
Should fix it.
Hope this helps.
Tried a software update but didn't fix the issue
Hi there, I'm currently using a OnePlus2 with Android version 5.1.1 and OxygenOS version 2.2.1.
The problem I'm facing is that my facebook app is not displaying videos in HD mode even after I click on the HD button provided in the player. I remember correctly that this was not the case around 2 months back and whenever I hit the HD button the video would pause, change its resolution and then continue playing. I also cannot recall if I've made any changes or upgrades to my ROM as my phone is rooted and the last update I received was OTA around a month and a half back.
Just to to be clear, I like my multimedia in HD as I'm quite a fanatic of picture quality and sound
This problem was annoying me for quite sometime now but I kept on ignoring it as videos being played on other apps like twitter, youtube or even from my phone memory were working just fine and displayed in full HD quality. I thought maybe the videos I'm playing on Facebook were uploaded low res until yesterday when I saw the same video on my wife's phone which played in HD.
I've been searching for a solution for 5 days now and seems like google doesn't even have an answer to it or may be I'm the first with such a problem. Anyways, desperately looking forward to a response.
Thanks!
Ruhayl
Facing Same problem in my Le 1s
I am also facing same problem in my LeECO le 1s mobile, tried multiple fixes but didn't work. Also, Its not easily available on online forums as a known issue. I tried cleaning everything related to the fb app from the storage which seemed to work temporarily but it started again. let me know if you come across any permanent working solution.
The offical facebook app is sh*t.
It uses alot of battery, ram and cpu.
Use an alternative app like: Folio, Swipe for Facebook or Facebook Lite.
For the past couple of days now, whenever I try to play a video, I hear the audio fine, but don't see any video, just a black screen. At first I thought it was trouble with my YouTube app since that's basically where I only watch videos and read on several forums that the issue was caused by having the official twitter app (which is weird since I don't have twitter). I also tried restarting my phone, uninstalling/reinstalling youtube, installing older versions of youtube, all of which never worked.
So I decided to swallow my pride and just download a fake youtube alternative. To my surprise, the videos still show a black screen and only play audio. This had me thinking, so I tried to play a video in my camera roll I downloaded... Same problem, however, if I play a video I recorded myself on the phone it works... The even weirer part is though, that if I play a video through youtube via the Chrome browser it works (despite it looking like 140p and horrible audio) but it works! I've also tried smart cleaning, deleting cache and data but to no avail.
Is there a problem with my phones flash player, or whatever extension it uses? I know Chrome uses its own built in player which could explain why it sorks in Chrome but not anywhere else.
This all seemed to happen randomly, I didnt do anything. Games and other media including music still seem to work fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Also I am rooted on 12A and have been for the past 6 months.
I'm also having the same issue with my vs995 running on rooted 12A
Wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am with the OnePlus 6T or has suggestions to fix it. When I try to play videos I downloaded through Amazon Prime for offline viewing, the sound only comes through in extremely short stutters or not at all. If I stream it works as expected. Already reinstalled Prime Video, tried all the download quality options, and no change. Downloaded and streaming video from Netflix works fine. Guessing codec issues or sound settings but haven't found a solution thus far.
Anyone else run into this?
Did you root O6t ?
I saw on one of the post that, there's some issue with Amazon & netflix videos after root.

Are you on the T-Mobile version? The latest OS update pushed out a few days ago broke Play Store certification for many people. That can cause issues with apps that use DRM, like Netflix and I guess maybe Amazon Prime Video. If this is the case, clearing data/storage on the Play Store fixes it. Source.
ETA: Just noticed the timestamp on the OP, doh. Oh well, leaving my post up in case anyone else having this problem more recently comes here looking for answers.
