Hello all!
I just recently switched to the LG G2 and I am really enjoying it! I have it rooted using towelroot and have TWRP installed as well.
I noticed that the new D80120E update has come out on the TMO LG G2, and I want to update it using the LG Mobile support tool. However, I have heard that I should not update to the D80120E because the update isn't out on the white TMO G2 yet, which is the G2 I have. What is the reason for that? Shouldn't the firmware for both the while and black G2 be the same? I appreciate any tips - thank you!
They are the same. If the LG support tool tells you there is an update, you can update.

Perfect - thank you!
any idea why its telling me I already have the latest software?
I also have a white T-Mo. I am rooted with Towelroot. The OTA update downloaded on my phone last night but I am not installing it while rooted as that caused all kinds of issues last time. Any advice greatly appreciated. attached screenshot of the support tool screen.

Hello,
I got a brand new D802 from Hong Kong a few days ago.
It was working good until I did an update that was suggested to me by the LG PC Suite.
The upgrade was from D80220B to D80220D, after the update was finished successfully, the device restarted and since then, the touch screen isn't working properly.
The meaning of it that I can't even slide to open the device because the screen acts "crazy" pressing multiple times and not in the correct place like if its calibration is ruined.
I tried doing factory reset but it didn't help, I even tried flashing the KDZ file, but the result was the same.
I put it in a shop where they told me that the digitizer and the screen needed to be replaced.
My questions are:
1. How can the digitizer get ruined from doing an update using the official software?
2. If I get a new device (I bought it on eBay and I'm sending the device for a replacement), and I'll do the update again, will it happen again or is it a faulty device that was doomed to be ruined?
Many thanks,
Ice

i guess it was faulty mate if you went from stock>>stock . everyone upgrades nowdays using Ota or flash tool or pc suite without problem. i recommend you ota if you on stock without root/recovery etc.. else KDZ download and manual flash with lg flash tool.

Thanks.
When you say "faulty" you mean the device?
I can't do anything with the device because the screen doesn't work anymore, even if I flash stock rom from scratch.
did you findany solution

I think you have refurbished LG G2. It is not D802. Open your phone battery cover there you will find exact model of your LG G2.
I know

Hello!
I would really appreciate if someone could share LG G2 D800 OTA update from D80030f to D80030g since old links are not working and I really need it.
Thanks in advance!
I am curious if there is a way to update the stock firmware on my V20. I have had this phone since the week it came out and I have never received any updates. My software version is H91010c and I know they are on H91010q. AT&T of course can't figure out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Lg v20 H910
Same issue.
Need some serious help
I know it isn't ideal but you can always root and flash the updated firmware. If you don't want to stay rooted, just flash the back to stock zip.
If you are on 10c as well, it would be nice to have a dump of that before you upgrade if you decide to go that route

What is the latest US996 firmware? I found US99610o_01_0202.kdz with a date of 3/1/2018 on LG Firmwares.com. Of course I connect to LG Bridge but I never get an update there. Anyone using this?

the firmware you listed was released by US Cellular for the US996, but since it's not showing for you in LG Bridge I'm guessing you have the unlocked US996? are you rooted as well?
Yes unlocked US996 but not rooted. I'm on build NRD90M, version US99610n showing Nov 6th security patch. I believe I got this firmware from the same site a few months back after I first bought the phone. Of course I didn't realize there are different US996 firmwares. What I'm running now has been flawless for months, I just don't know what the latest unlocked US996 firmware is. Any idea?
Hi rzracer2,
Did you ever get/find an answer to your question. I'm in the same boat. I have US 996 unlocked running build NRD90M. Software version is US99610d. Both UpdateCenter and LG bridge state I have the latest OS. On LG bridge it is confusing, after I click the OK accepting I already have the latest OS, what's on screen implies there is a newer version.
Seems like there is the US mobile firmware which have new versions, and then the unlocked which has pretty much been abandoned?! Pity, the whole reason I got the factory unlocked was so that I wouldn't be hostage to the carrier update schedule... sigh..
I don't know if this will be of any help............

thanks! I'll look into it. With my previous phones, I used to flash custom roms, root the phone, etc... I got fed up with that and decided to go stock and factory unlocked so as to not deal with carrier bloatware/nonsense. That was the whole reason I got this phone. I was hoping to keep updated/hassle free with OTA updates. Looks like that is not the case and I'm back to flashing roms! Thanks LG!
I would like to confirm that my H870DS TWN version updated to Android 9 using LG Bridge and everything is work well.
I took quite a long time to boot up in the LG logo, but finally it did and after about 2 manual reboots it's working as it did in Android 8, even though the security patch is from May 2019. Hopefully it will receive an OTA update with updated security settings.

Thanks for the information. Many people suffer from lg bridge when I wanted to update it showed 2 updates available and I didnt want to update due to complaints . Most people told lg bridge formatted their phones and downgraded to nougat !! did you have the same problem?

No, I did not have the problem stated by other members that, I think, do have the G6 Korean and not Taiwan (TWN) version (the one I have).
In my LG Bridge, only 1 update was shown and everything went ok. I was afraid the phone was blocked during boot up, but it managed to start after 10-15 min with the LG logo in the screen. After that I already restarted twice and it booted up normally.

OMG, I've given up on the LGH870DS a long time ago and quite surprise that Pie is now available. Any idea if they had kindly allowed the phone to be boot unlocked to install any custom roms? (just hoping!)

Thx, H870DS30a_00_OPEN_HK_DS_OP_0920 all good
After two tries with LG brigde I only got Android 7 of 8 but no Android 9. Also tried to flash with uppercut/LGUP but it stopped at 4% (used 3 different computers but no luck). If someone has a solution to flash the Android Pie to my H780DS TWN I would be glad to hear it.

If you do have H870DS TWN (Taiwan) and in LG Bridge you don't find the Pie update, you can download it from here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/20901/H870DS30a_00_OPEN_TW_DS_OP_0920.kdz
I had downloaded the .kdz file but was not able to flash it. Uppercut fails at 4%. Is there an other way to flash the .kdz file? I don't mind if the phone is wiped.

Flashed successfully with LG UP 1.16 and LG UP DLL update:
LGUP_Lab_Frame_Ver_1_16_0_3.msi
LGUP_Common_DLL_Ver_1_0_40_2.msi
H870DS30a_00_OPEN_TW_DS_OP_0920.kds
Last version of LG Bridge is installed on my computer and working but I'm unable to install Android 9 update... After the update, my phone is on Android 7 !?
So, I've tried with LG UP and common DLL... and it's OK.
Just launch LG UP, check "upgrade" and select downloaded kds firmware. :good:
Anyone knows why there isn't an OTA Update yet?
