ODIN All threads completed (succeed 0 / fail 0) - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all!
I just replaced my note 3 and tried to root using chainfire and odin 3.09 and then odin 1.85.
I've followed the directions listed here.
I keep getting "All threads completed (succeed 0 / fail 0)", and then of course nothing happens.
I've googled every combination of words but all i get is (succeed 0 / fail 1) or (succeed 1 / fail 0), but no hits on (succeed 0 / fail 0).
am I missing something?
thanks in advance!
steven.

if you have a custom recovery, just flash the flashable supersu and your device will be rooted.

Most likely you forgot to enable developers mode under the phone settings.
You cannot root the phone without enabling "developer's mode" and then
enabling "the "usb debugging" first.
Good luck!

But what output do you get from Odin? Do you see " reset " or "pass" in there, usually in blue and green colors respectively?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

thank you, but I'm not even getting colors.
if I remember correctly the blue or green would be in the windows toward the top of odin, correct?
all of these windows are empty with no color.
below is the exact output in the message window:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> CF-Auto-Root-hltetmo-hltetmo-smn900t.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)

thanks, I do make silly mistakes from time to time. but I made sure I had the phone in developers mode with usb debugging on.
any other ideas?
I'm not sure if this matters, but on a mac using CrossOver. I've used CrossOver since my S3. however I did just reinstall odin and the samsung drivers.
thanks again.

I had the same issue - "All threads completed (succeed 0 / fail 0)".
The root cause for me was that the USB drivers were not installed properly. Once the USB drivers for Windows was installed correctly (need to run Windows Update), the problem was solved.

any updates?

Galaxy Tab stuck on bootup

So I've got a Euro non-carrier galaxy tab - shortly after receiving it I've done an update via Kies and this appears to of bricked the device.
Here is what happens:
Booting normally, the device sits on the Samsung logo and occasionally vibrates. This can go on for hours
In recovery, I get:
update media, please wait
update media, finished
#manual mode#
update application, please wait
check_point2: /data/app is not directory
followed shortly by the recover menu, with the following extra lines:
update application, finished
-appling muti-csc...
installing muti-csc
Now, here are the things I've done that I think are related
OCLF
Root
So - How do I fix this? I've tried pushing a fresh firmware back onto the device via odin 1.7, and this fails:

I'm running on an x64 win7 box btw.
I've tried:
wipe data/factory reset from recovery, which takes me to the screen with the andy and an orange ! in a triangle, but nothing more
the same happens if i try any option from recovery, really.
I welcome any suggestions - I've found a few people having similar issues, but no real luck in trying their solutions.
Oh hang fire guys, 'Phone EFS clear' appears to have fixed it...it's reflashing now in any case..
edit: i take that back, its made no difference at all. Ideas?

Don't panic! As I understand you did OCLF that converted Samsung proprietery RFS into ext4. This means that in order to reflash anything new you would need to convert it back. There is extensive material on how to revert it on XDA, for example in Samsung Vibrant development forum.
Look for it and revert. Then you can use Odin.
I did a similar thing the first time Kies offered me an update for my Samsung Galaxy S, I knew I was supposed to undo the OCLF first but in my haste to sample the new firmware I forgot.. Anyway, you won't be able to fix this with Kies as you'll need to do a full flash with re-partition via Odin. Good luck, I hope you get it working again!
Tried a full flash... now am stuck at the samsung logo...

Try to shut it down holding Power button. Then holding Volume-Up and Power try to boot it into recovery.
If you see text on the screen you can try to select to do full wipe following directions from the Tab screen, then reboot.
Another option is to flash Roto-JME with internal SD formatting. This operation is supposed to restore original RFS file system as well as firmware.
Since I never did this on a top of ext4 files system and I cannot say anything about the outcome.
Thanks will try that. Downloding Roto-JME-FmtIntSD-v2.zip now
Look for the dbdata.tar file on this forum and run Odin again (2nd run)
Got it! It worked. Thanks Adapt0r! Thanks so much!

Odin won't root my note 3.

I installed windows 7 64bit on my mac,
Downloaded CF Auto Root and odin from the second link provided for n9005 (as my Note is on 4.3),
installed samsung kies 3,
extracted the zip and launched odin,
pressed the PDA button selected CF Auto Root,
put my phone into download mode,
connected my phone with the samsung usb cable and pressed start.
I get the following output.
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

nothing happens on the phone display. USB debugging and install from unknown sources are both checked. Auto reboot is checked in Odin but is greyed out so I can't uncheck it.
Any help wold be appreciated.

Found the issue . When I connected my phone. Even though Kies was already installed. Windows tried to install another driver, the second my phone was connected. After cancelling the install and running odin. The root went as described in the guide and now my Phone is rooted.
Thanks

No worries, glad it's sorted...
Same problem
I get the 0 Succed / 0 Fail error as well (Kies exited). Is this because I'm having trouble connecting to phone via ADB?
Uninstall Kies.

[Q] USB got unplugged while trying to odin I337UCUFNB1_100%_Stock_Rooted_ROM

Hi there,
Long time on-again-off-again lurker, first time poster.
Here's the situation. Today I decided to upgrade my Samsung-I337 from base MF3 to NB1. I successfully found the tar and flashed it onto my device. Then I decided I wanted to root my device. I was in the middle of the downgrading to MK2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692825 when I decided to get up from my seat, accidentally removing the cable from my device. I don't believe I'm hardbricked because I'm still able to reach download mode and when I try to boot up normally, I get this firmware error, but my phone hasn't seemed to have reached the useless paperweight stage. I tried to flash the 4.4 odin tar from when I updated earlier back on my phone but all I get is this:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> ALL_ATT_I337UCUFNB1_I337ATTFNB1_505595_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
I've searched around google and here but I can't find a solution. If some kind patron could show me the steps to unbrick my phone or link me to a post that could help me, that would be extremely helpful!
Can you try flashing the full NB1 tar and see how it goes? As long as you have the download mode, you should be able to fix your phone.

Odin fails to flash ROM - SM-T585

Hi all, first time trying to flash a ROM and having difficulties.
I recently purchased a Tab A from Ebay and after a few weeks got round to using it, turned it on and it is saying that it needs the account it was setup with in order to finish the setup.
Tried messaging the seller but haven't got anywhere so thought I just wipe it to factory defaults and try again. But it says this cant be done as the FRP lock is enabled.
So did some reading and found out about Odin and flashing the ROM, so downloaded Odin3_v3.14.4, and ROM making sure it was the right version for my Tab, downloaded USB drivers, put Tab in download mode and loaded Odin running as Admin, loaded the AP file and clicked start then it just fails!!! No message comes up on the Tab just fails in Odin?
I have included log below so can someone please help me. I have screen captures to but cant find out how to add them here.
Thanks
Lee

If you are getting the error blocked by FRP lock when flashing then that means you need to enable OEM unlocking which you cannot do since you can't get past the setup screen. You really do not have any option but to return it or message the seller

There is one thing that you can try...
You have to find a combination firmware with the same bootloader version as your current one.
Then, Flash that combination firmware and then flash back to stock. It has worked on some other devices to bypass FRP.
The locked bootloader shouldn't block it because it is still Official firmware.
If that doesn't work then like I said you don't really have any other option...

Ok first download this Odin: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4952061
And then download this firmware: https://mega.nz/file/Ynow0S7B#mRuSS_qZUKzmRPQHwfVCRv1H09PCHtbu-8J_pqr5_b8
Then flash this firmware in the AP slot and make sure repartition is not enabled.
If you get an error than try this firmware: https://mega.nz/file/IyxlmSCK#MtyhDSad3a_xQypxAvLQU2nS0-RbapT0FvfOq_j27Zs
Then flash back to stock ROM and cross your fingers ?
Edit: If you can't boot into the combo firmware than you can do a factory reset in recovery.
