Ring tone problem - Moto E General

Today I brought new Moto E. very good phone except no flash and no front cam.
My problem is:
"Ring tone starts with very low volume and then increases. If any one give missed call I can't here it."
Is there any solution to fix it ?

that comes by default I was told to use 3rd party apps such like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.herman.ringtone

Problem continues

With custom ringtones also ring starts with zero volume and gradually increases to high volume...is there any solution for constant volume ring tone?

CustomROM or if just rooted then maybe an xposed module?

I bought a Moto E for my wife. Tried to call her today and she never heard it ring. I was using a 3rd party mp3 file. I switched to the default ringtone and noticed what the OP described. I'm not about to root this brand new phone and loose the warranty.

that is a feature to warn u if u r in a meeting or in a class.
when it is low u can either cut the call or put the phone in silent mode.
else if it rings loudly u will be caught.

Use vibration with ringtone .

Did anybody test with latest 4.4.4 update already? Maybe the added some Sound menu updates also.

Incoming Call Delay

There is a delay between incoming call and actually the phone ringing. Did you notice that as well? I asked my callers already several times how many rings they have heared. Normally 2, and I only heared one. So?
As well there is a small delay between picking up and actually being able to speak... Did you notice this as well?
i'm facing the same problem
Thx for your feedback. So now the question is if there is any reg-hack to speed this up.
I noticed that too.
But if you pay attention, there is a low ring in the background. Make a test in a zero noise environment..
@uterrorista, low-ring? pretty usefull, ha?
@all, pushing up the topic.
pretty bad, if the "waking up" process takes that long so the caller already got something like 3-4 rings until I hear the first ring...
any idea?
Upgrading your Radio should mostly solve this problem. And always try to have your ringtones in main memory rather than storage cards because power to sd card cuts of in standby mode and may take some time to return after awaken by a call.
Regards,
Carty..
With the new radio occurs the same.
Incoming call delay
This may help....
Somethings to consider:
1- I would say the actual ring signal is not always synchronized with the ring back tone we heard. The may come from different system within a complex telecom network. Therefore, some delay is expected as normal functionality in all telephone systems (Fix and mobile ones). What you hear when calling is send by the phone systems you are connected too (i. e. fix phone line of your provider central office systems). What makes your phone ringing is a command (teleco-protocol) sent by the system you are registered-in) So, we do not expect a ring to ring back sync any way.
2- To the previous fact, we should add the wake-up time, ringing tone search and play back as well as picture and info shown on display, call execution inner in the process on your JADE. You may minimize a bit these things, but I would say only a bit if you have the device always awake (battery waste) and your ringing tones are in the main memory.
3- if your phone does not give you radio problem, please do not upgrade it. You may run in problems you did not have before and it will void your warranty.
4- We can go further and add our ear and brain response time.
5- The time that comes for the call to go to diver destination or voice mail, counts from the moment that your phone is seized by your host public system and not from the moment the caller hear the first ring back tone.
Conclusion:
I do not see a real problem as far as it does not go over two ring back tones.
A lot of ringtones are silent about 1 second before they actually start (just like some songs and stuff). That might be your problem?

No, it isnt. Mine is the dafault tone.
If the jade is near a pc monitor, the monitor starts to make interferences two or three seconds before the screen lights up and the tone starts ringing.
yesterday it rang 1x and my caller said he heared the ringtone on his side of the line 5x!!!! wtf!?!?
what can we do to fix this?
Hello my radio version is 0.27.30.09 (from stock)
I too had a 3 ring call delay, i installed jademan superrom (which did not update the radio version , it's still the old one) and somehow the call delay vanished...
Or u can try the reg tweak to set the ring script to "av1pr" using sktools... works well for me..
hope that helps

Can explain the sk-tweak please?
Sure :d
install the latest sktools, Choose tuneup < phone edition < ring script and typr av1pr... which gives u a very short vibrate and ring... (which fits me cos the ring volume isn't very high and i dont wanna miss calls in noisy areas.. U can see help to modify the script to ur needs)
or if u prefer editing registry, use a registry editor to go to HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/Ringtone0/script and change the REG_SZ value to av1pr
annoying incoming call delay
Hi,
i have changed the registry script as people say but no difference. And that's no surprise as if you read the script letter by letter "av1pr" means activate device/vibrate/play ringtone/repeat. The original script "apw3r" again means "activate the phone/play rington/wait 3 seconds/repeat". So the 3 seconds delay happens AFTER the phone plays the ringtone the first time.
However, the activation(with activation I mean to wake up the phone from standby) actually happens always on the beginning of the second ring. I have another phone and I have done few tests calling the jade so I am sure of what I am saying.
By the way, I dont know if you noticed but changing the ringtone changes the script back to the original one. But it doesnt really matter given that this tweak doesnt make any difference.
I have to say instead that disabling the skin dialer allowed me to gain 1 second, and now the phone activates just before the second ring. So I believe that the solution should be found somewhere else and not in the script that everyone keeps talking about.
I think I have read that the superrom doesnt have this problem(jade rom development in this section). What did it change in there? why it doesnt show that?
Any help appreciated
Franco
Actually av1pr means activate & vibrate 1 sec & Ring
apw3r means activate & wait 3 sec and play ringtone
I used to get the caller screen and no ring till 3 sec till i changed that.... i know it resets everytime after u change rt but no prob for me cos i don change RT often and sktools has an easy way of changing it
And i need it to vibrate for 1 sec coz ring volume is a bit low in htc phones..
PS: i'm using superrom too

well, the phone follows the sequence of commands so if it is:
apw3r
the phone will a=activate, then p=play ringtone, w3=wait 3 seconds, r=repeat sequence.
So the 3 seconds delay is after the first time the rt is played.
But I have the same initial delay with both scripts it does p**s me off really!
have you tried to use another phone to call your jade with the superrom? how long does it take to play the tone?
well i have tried and my jade starts vibrating by the time the first ring ends( in the phone from which i'm calling)
can u try the decrease ring delay tweak in the mighty enhancements section of this link and see if it works
http://triton.homeip.net/RegistryChanger/
My own experience is that SuperROM made absolutely no difference at all, neither does hacking the ringtone script (as other have said, the "delay" is after the ringtone has started anyway).
What did make a difference in both the stock & superrom firmware was to disable the HTC dialer skin and revert to the WM6.1 caller id bubble. This reduced the average delay to about 1 second. The other variable is whether the phone is in full suspend mode or awake - my phone certainly takes longer to activate from full suspend mode (full suspend being suspend on battery).
Haven't tried the new HTC stock ROM yet, maybe this improves things? I think it will take some changes to the low-level drivers to improve on the 1 second wake-up with WM6.1 dialer (these may be in the new stock ROM, all of the cooked ROMs use low-level drivers from the original stock ROM so will all be the same in this respect).

Absolutely no difference whatsover. Again, the only improvement I can get is when I disable the dialer skin and use the wm default one. Then it rings just before hearing the second tone on the calling line.
To be honest I am not surprised, the registry key that is changed is:
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\RingPreview\InitVol
which clearly refers to a volume level and not to a time delay...??

Have you installed any 3rd party software on your phone? I only ask because this feature works exceptionally well for me. It's a new feature to the HD2 that I've not experienced on a phone before and I find it very pleasing indeed!

"circular reference"
It sounds like you have a "circular reference" or a "self-fulfilling prophecy"...
If the volume is at maximum and the phone has the speaker facing a hard surface then the vibration from the volume of the ringer could be moving the phone just enough to activate the "quiet on pick up" function.
See if the issue occurs with the phone face down, or with the phone on top of a towel (or other sound absorbant surface).
Sincerely,
A Logical Thinker

No ring volume on HD2

Ever since I purchased my HD2 (Telstra) in February, I have had a problem where the ring volume intermittently switches off and I cannot hear incoming calls. At some stage after with no attempted fix, another call comes through and the phone rings fine at the volume I have set. The problem doesn't seem to be attached to certain callers, it seems to do it at times no matter who calls.
The phone actually rings (albiet silently) when the problem occurs as I see the phone go to the incoming caller screen, but there is no ring volume. When I check the volume of the ring tone on the phone after the call it is still set to a bit under half way.
I have the original Telstra ROM installed. haven't tried the new one yet.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? I don't want to go to all of the effort to reinstall everything just to find out that the problem still occurs.
Thanks.
Same here!
I have the US version but have had this issue with both the stock US rom as well as the offical update they just posted.
A soft reset fixes it, but its totally random and is a major pain in the ass.
Any tips? Please help!
i have the same exact problem with my leo.
does someone have a resolution for this?
Me too!
Glad to know it's not just my HD2 that has this issue. I run the UK stock ROM and have suffered with this since I first got the phone! Most of the time it's fine, just every now and again goes quiet and I miss a call... I have even had the ringtone start loud, and then fade out. Would love to know if there is a fix for this......
Hi boys,
i've a similar issue with my Acer S200 with Manila ROM (OS version 5.2.23123, Manila version 2.5.20153712.0).
In a randomic way, suddenly the ringtone volume goes zero. I have usually ringtone+vibration, and vibration disappear too, together with ringtone....!
So with a new call, i can see the "incoming call" sceen but no sound and no vibration alert me...
With a soft reset i can solve, but i cannot understand what is the condition that triggers this problem....

Ringer Volume starts off low.

I have noticed that when I get an incoming call the ringing volume starts off low and then after the 1st or 2nd ring it jumps up to full volume (or the volume I have set it to). It's like as if the ringing volume has been set to ascending.
I have tried it with different ringtones but it's always the same result.
It is a little annoying and I'm not sure if its a bug or not as I can't seem to find anything in the settings to adjust this.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to correct or change it?
Thanks.
I do not have this problem.
But i use one of the preinstalled ringtones.
Maybe it has something to do with it.
But i looked in the settings and did not find any options regarding the increasing volume (know that option from my old w850i sony ericsson)
I have tried it with the preinstalled ringtones as well but I still get the same problem.
Yeah my old nokia's used to have an option for ascending ringtone but I can't find anything like that. Might have to do a factory reset and see if that fixes anything.
You know what?
I've got the same problem.
had a ringtone that got kinds louder in the first 2 seconds so i did not hear that the volume was increasing.(had pegasus)
But with another ringtone i can hear that increasing volume too.
weird :S

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Have any of you lot downloaded additional ringtones from 3rd party apps like zedge?
I'm wondering they could've caused it, cos it definitely seems like a software issue as oppose to a hardware issue.
I'm going to do a factory reset on my phone and wipe it completely and see what happens.
I posted this a while back, but the Mods kept moving it to Q&A. We need the phone.apk modified so the increasing ringer effect is removed. This is stock behavior with all Samsung phones, including the SGS.

I just did a full wipe and factory reset and it didn't resolve anything

Okay I think that cmd512 was right, it seems to be a feature of samsung phones, one which apparently we can't change without rooting the device. Looks like I wiped my phone for no reason, great!!
Here's some other links I've found regarding this issue on the original SGS...

Can other users just confirm if their device acts in the same way or not? Thanks.
I noticed this my 1st call or so (3 weeks ago). I assume this is done by Samsung purposely to give users a chance to silence the ringer before it disturbs something/someone (meeting, conference, library, etc.)
If you check motion in Settings, you will see that there is an option to articles silence sounds by turning the phone over. I assume the ringer starts low, then increases to allow the users time to silence the phone before reaching max volume.

Yeah I thought it might be something like that too but you'd think samsung would at least put an option in the settings to let the user choose if they wanted it or not ... or even put a note about it somewhere so people like me wouldn't think its a problem with their phone and format their device for no reason lol
This is absolutely normal, was the same on the SGS. The only way is to decompile phone.apk and change one of the settings. If you search "non-increasing ringer phone.apk" for the SGS, you will see tons of posts with this file. Once you push the new phone.apk over, it will get rid of the increasing ringer effect.
Unfortunately, when I tried to decompile phone.apk, I got errors. If I can get a deodexed version of phone.apk from KE7, I can modify it accordingly.
'Feature'
Confirmed - It is standard stock behavior and I hate it.. lol.
Coming from the captivate where I ran i900 modded roms they would have ascending ringers until some dev modded it to not..

Notification sound bug

Does anybody face this bug" notification sound automatically go into the vibration mode, restart to get everything back to normal"??i tried cear partition cache but didn't help this method..help plz
I also have the same issue. In my case, notification sound or ring comes from earpiece speaker instead of main speaker so it's too low to be heard. Not sure about the root cause. Reboot definitely helps but quick way to fix it is to call any number(like 111) and hang up after putting it on speaker. Is anyone else facing the same issue?
I can confirm that notification/call ringtone goes silent automatically in v323 also. DND is not activated and no power saving module/mod is enabled. This is an annoying bug and frequently causes me to miss important calls and notifications
Same here.

Didn't work for me. Do you guys have any smartwatch connected via Bluetooth? I do and may be it is the root cause of this issue?
I think this issue definitely has something to do with Samsung gear S3. Whenever I turn off and back on the Bluetooth, issue appears to be gone for few hours.
Guys i think the new 326 update fixed this issue..whats say?
I still have this issue but it's not so frequent now. It comes back in 2-3 days after reboot.
Issue is there. Randomly no notification. 326

I experience it too. But in my case, I don't have to restart the phone, only turn it back to ring mode works to fix it although only temporarily.
It happens randomly, if I'm not using my phone for about 15 minutes, not always happen but randomly, occasionally happen.
I don't have any smartwatch apps or alike installed, but I'll check for other apps that might causing it.
I wish whether it's a bug from Asus or mistake from my side, it can be fixed somehow, because it's annoying.
Still looking for the solution.

UPDATE: SOLVED (A long ago actually, sorry I just write this now)
An app caused it. It has to do with timer and notification sound triggering at some preset times a day.
After I uninstall the app, all is OK.
Hey guys, I am too facing the issue. But root cause seems to be this.. When I open any app that gives some audio output, n I immediately try to reduce the volume. Somehow the ringer volume also goes down along with media. N after this whenever I press the volume rocker, it doesn't work on ringer volume but on media volume. Once I restart it works fine but same thing repeats if I do what I mentioned.
Hi guys anyone experience after the update or Android become Android 8.0 my phone do not have signal anymore
