You are getting an error (This package is for devices with 4.4 bootloader) because that build needs the KK bootloader to install. You have to update to stock KitKat to get the new bootloader.

I didn't mean to thank op......,.... Oops

I think that is the KK compatible CWM.
I would get rid of CWM and use the TWRP that is compatible with KK. There's been nothing but issues with that version of CWM.

Razr M jelly bean bootloader verion of CM

your device has the jellybean bootloader and needs the jellybean bootloader ver of CM.
As a result, many devices supported under the moto_msm8960 are still using Jellybean bootloaders, and could not update to the latest CM 11 builds. To rectify this issue, we have decided to split the moto_msm8960 family into Kitkat (4.4) bootloader and and Jellybean bootloader releases. A new moto_msm8960_jbbl (Jellybean bootloader) variant has been created in CM sources to account for those devices that have not (and may not) see a proper 4.4 release from Moto.

[Q] I see a lot of 4.4 kit kat roms for the RAZR m but I have a question

Question ..i see alot of kit kat roms..what's the most stable 4.4 kit kat ROM ?
CyanogenMod 11 is pretty stable. I flash the nightly's once or twice a month, and I've never had a problem. Battery life is decent and everything seems to work.

For me PAC-rom is very very stable. Battery life better than in CM11, Carbon, Gummy. And PAC-rom is more customizable than every ROM i've tryed for RAZR M.
I'm on 98.30.1 firmware I can't unlock the boot loader ...is there any ROMs that work with my locked boot loader ?

You can flash custom ROM on your locked bootloader phone with SafeStrap recovery. Some people says that perfomance wouldn't be like if you flash it with normal custom recovery(i.e. CWM or TWRP), but i never noticed that. Of course, you need to root your phone to use SS recovery.

But none of the newer custom ROMs (Android 4.2+) work with SafeStrap, mind you.

Andy is correct, you can't flash just any ROM with SS. In fact, there are very few SS compatible ROMs out there right now. When or if they release the 4.4 OTA, I'm pretty sure there will a plethora of stock and aftermarket ROMs made available for SS.

Can I install cm 11 or a stock kitkat rom that does not have touchwiz on my NB1?

I have a att s4 sgh-1337 with android 4.4.2. baseband version 1337UCUFNB1. I'm trying to put on CM 11. or another rom that looks like stock android with no touchwiz and 100% working and stable. if I downgrade to android 4.3. can I then root, install CWM recovery, and install CM 11?
what would happen if I booted into android system recovery and installed the cm 11 rom for my phone?

Short answer: No. You'll void your warranty and bootloop.
As for 'stock android look', I can recommend PurifieD or Google Play Edition ROM although it has a few bug that I'm going to work on once this semester ends..

No CM for now. You cannot replace the stock recovery. The only working recovery we have is safestrap.
You can use DVKM Tool and install BlackBox3.0 (Check post 3 of All things ATT thread)
thanks. hm, don't know what I should do. I bought this phone last week used on ebay so I dont think I have a warranty to void. another reason I wanted CM is so i could easily get updates. I dont really want to be messing with roms all the time. do you guys think cm will work soon? in the next few months? maybe I should stick with what I have till that happens. I'd rather wait for that then cause my self more headache.
does PurifieD come with the stock kitkat widgets?

No, probably not. The i337s bootloader is locked so we can't flash kernels. A lot of devs have moved onto newer devices so I doubt anything new will happen. And I'm not sure what the stock kitkat widgets are.

what android version would the i337 need to have to be able to install cm 11? 4.2.x ? I'm thinking of asking the guy I bought mine from to see if he has any others that still have an older android version that would let me install cm on.

Yes, it'll update on its own unless you root and delete or freeze the system update app.

hm. Im not sure how to have the seller check for me then. if the phone has android 4.2.2, it should be on mdb or mdl, right?
Or it might have MF3. To find out, just go into Settings > About Phone (if the phone is complete stock unrooted, then the build number/baseband should match the boot loader)

From MDL 4.2.2 to CM11 (M3) and back

Hi. I'm not sure how to even ask this question. I've heard that the OTA 4.3 version of Android does something to the bootloader and disables loki patches or something like that. My question is... If I'm on MDL 4.2.2 now with Loki patch and TWRP recovery... if I use the CM11 web installer from CM and upgrade my custom rom to CM11 4.4.2... will CM11 mess with my bootloader to where I have to revert to SafeStrapper? or does CM11 not mess with the bootloader to which I can continue to install any rom I want? thanks

No, it won't mess with your bootloader. If you update your firmware then your on trouble. But you're just flashing a custom rom so you're ok.

Flashing ROMs is fine, but just so you know the CM Installer does not work on our device. You have to flash it in recovery.

How to update Bootloader

Hey,
I'm on AOSP for some time now.
I was just wondering if one can update bootloader only or does he have to update the whole firmware. Lets say I'm on 4.3 JB and would like bootloader 4.4,can i just simply flash bootloader only?
Do i have to use Odin or can i use cmd flash procedure as for nexus?
I'm asking because lollipop needs a updated 4.4 bootloader as far as i know..
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, if you manage to get a bootloader only file.
But do keep in mind, that currently 4.4 bootloader works only with 4.4 ROMs (and those custom CM12 ROMs that are made to work with it). You will not be able to revert to 4.3.
Thank you for response.

[Q] Updating bootloader XT905

So I went to flash the new version of CM12 onto my Razr M xt905. During the flash I got an error straight away "This package is for devices with 4.4 bootloader". So now I can't upgrade to 5.0.. My question is how do I update my boot loader to 4.4?

I see that you have blisspop (Sent from my RAZR M on BlissPop Lollipop 5.0.2 from Tapatalk) installed which I might try however is this the correct thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-m/development/rom-blissstalk-team-bliss-t2917423
I can see that there is a DL link for "MOTO_MSM8960 (JBBL)" which I have 2 questions for:
1) Is this Andriod 5.0?
2) Is it compatible for the XT905?
EDIT: I installed it however once I boot into the OS I get several errors such as 'Unfortunately setup wizard has stopped"

That is BlissStalk, not BlissPop. BlissPop is on droidrzr.com. yes it's 5.0 (as stated in my signature) and it should work since your on a moto msm device.
Edit: not sure about compatibility since the xt905 uses a different radio I believe since it's Australian. Ask the dev

Any fix for this?
Even I have an XT905, and from what i have searched on the net, an official kitkat update hasnt come for xt905.
What can be done to get the latest boot files, so that I can flash the latest custom roms, almost all are based out on KITKAT
You would need a KitKat compatible modem for the XT905. And as you already mentioned, it's not available yet.
But it's still possible to use XT907 ROMs for the JB bootloader.
I am using BlissPop on XT905. You just need to download the "jbbl" version. The first boot takes some time so be patient.
It is buttery smooth and battery life is awesome.
Radio is on separate partition and is not flashed by BlissPop
