Hello,
These sound like clones as the note 3 and the mega are both LTE devices (as well as cdma) if the clone dosnt have an lte radio there is no way to make it have one. May be why they are so cheap!

It won't work. It is a hardware limitation of the device. You either need to buy a device that supports Bell's LTE frequency OR live with HSPA+. The only thing I can suggest is getting a new SIM card, BUT I highly doubt it will work.

is it possible to change the antenna on the sgs3 to make it compatible with tmo's lte?
Are the antenas in the back coverpiece? If so, I'd imagine it's possible.
Pretty sure it has more to do with what bandwidth the radio chip will support. TMO decided to go with an LTE deployment that the S3 can't/won't broadcast & receive on.

i got 2 questions...
1 - do you think that you can change the antenna on the s3 for tmo's LTE compatibility?
2 - do you think that samsung will sell nother version of the s3 to make it compatible for tmo's LTE?

haha they say there are no dumb questions but...
The AT&T version has support for LTE in the AWS band, technically making it compatible with T-Mobile's future LTE. However, AWS HSPA+ support is either disabled or impossible, so you'd be stuck on 2G for the time being, except in the areas where PCS refarming has already begun. I'm also not sure that the LTE radio is unlocked for anything but AT&T, even with another SIM, but who knows.

Hello!
I'm just wondering If anyone has tried the octacore version of the S4 on Mobilicity or Wind mobile (aws 1700/2100 bands)? I'm currently in Asia, Anne think it'd be super cool to pick up one of the international octacore versions here, but since my preferred carrier back home (in Canada) is Mobilicity, I just wanna make sure it'll work first. I've tried googling to see if anyone has tried it before, but I wasn't able to find anything.
If anyone has tried it, or knows if it'll work, I'd really appreciate your help!
Thanks so much =)
Manda
i popped in my inactive wind sim and it shows wind home when i search for mobile networks but i am not sure as it was inactive
According to the specs posted at gsmarena (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9500_galaxy_s4-5125.php), the i9500 doesn't support AWS. You would be stuck with 2G EDGE data

Thank you for your help. Did the roaming icon show up at all? I saw on the wiki that it's not supposed to work.
Can AWS be enabled on s4 i9500 - please help guys.
Hi,
I have a wind sim (Canada), it doesn't work on my S4 i9500 which i bought from UAE. Is there a way AWS frequencies can be enabled on this phone? I am desperately looking for a work around. To me, XDA is my only hope left.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

did you ever get this to work? i have this phone and need to get it to work with wind... not sure if there is a solution other than just use it with wifi.

Hello,
Has anyone actually tried an N9005 on ATT LTE or Rogers LTE?
Lot's of speculation and indeed online the specs say it should not work. Hopefully there is an ATT or Rogers modem to flash soon.
Thanks,
Kevin

What speculation? It is missing the required bands to work on AT&T.
The hardware has support for it - so its a software restriction. But you're right it has been confirmed that the N9005 stock doesn't work on AT&T / Verizon.
Note II received AWS bands by a modified QCP file. Some people say its just a modem flash.
Yeah I'm wondering the same thing my unlocked n9005 works on Rogers lte but I was hoping there was a modem I could flash since coverage isn't great and I heard it's because of software reasons

I am using an n9005 and it works on LTE just fine. Maybe the coverage area is good where I normally use it.
The n9005 will work on Rogers LTE where there is some 2600mhz coverage.

Yeah would be a dream come true if it could be achieved on the Note 3. I wonder what's so different from Note 2 to Note 3 that it can't be done the same way?

I'm waiting for something to happen on this front as well... I've had my n9005 for about 2 months on at&t and have been settling for hspa+ but it's *really* slow. if anybody has any ideas as to how to get LTE working on the n9005 i'd really like to hear about it.

I've attempted to flash the modems from N900W8 firmwares without success.
Still looking for a way to enable 4G LTE with Telus on the n9005.

You would at least need the AWS band on your device to start thinking that enabling LTE for Telus is feasible...
Your device does not even have this band on 3G...

Both the n9005 and n900w8 have the same hardware. It's just primarily based on software at this point.

Same cpu / chipset does not necessarily mean same power amplifiers or same antennas

Ah okay, gotchaa.
Finally got some LTE action in TX
Hello, I have an sm-n9005 on AT&T (go phone). Been living with HSPA since getting this phone in early April. I'm on vacation in Texas visiting relatives and on the way from Dallas to Houston I actually got 4G in two locations briefly while driving. Oddly, both of these locations were not in Houston or Dallas where one would expect them to be, rather in smaller towns. I don't care what anyone here says about modems, firmwares, etc. They HAVE the capability to serve LTE to these phones but won't. The bottom line is deregulation is killing the consumer while these clowns pretend each one has "the best" or "the most reliable" LTE service.
Hey guys,
so I'm looking currently for a replacement of my Lenovo Vibe Z which really annoys me because of the buggy ROM and the data connectivity. Since the Xperia Z3 Dual, and the LG G3 are to expensive I'm eyeballing the S5 Duos, but I need some explanation to the data connectivity.
Can both SIMs use LTE/3G by just selecting which SIM should use data? That is really annoying with the Vibe Z, because only SIM1 can actually use 3G, while SIM2 is restricted to EDGE (2G), so you would need to switch out the SIMs physically. Any clarification on that would be greatly appreciated!
wrong section q's go in Q&A
Ok thx.
But common guys - there must be some SGS5 Duos users who can give a quick answer.

Thank you very much. Well in this case the SGS5 Duos died for me. I need to have the possibility to just switch it in the software.

Wrong answer. Either sim can be selected to have data. Obviously not at the same time. I do it quite often and possible through software only. No need to swap sims

Well yes - this is the obvious functionality. But are you suggesting, that either SIMs can use LTE? or is it as @ jagardeen described it?
Either sim can use LTE though one at a time and you can switch this in "more network" settings.
Well if that is the case, this would be AWESOME. Ordering right now!
