After root, I had my ways with this tablet. Time to go back to stock.
1. Download the firmware: http://lg-firmware-rom.com/ Put in your IMEI and hit Download. I downloaded twice: the first one didn't work and caused System UI crashed . http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358557442. Here is my MD5 of the download that worked: 7D8371E5D7610C492683D37EFFE6FADC
2. Rename the file extension to kdz: VK81011A_01.kdz
3. Follow instructions here "LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)" http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-lg-g2-to-stock-firmware/2/ Use method 2 with the kdz file you just downloaded
4. Reboot into stock recovery to factory reset
5. Wait for the new Kitkat.

Still no official KK update at this point.
Getting a OTA download from VZW as we speak...
Seems to be pretty big. It is taking a while. If this is Kit Kat and I have TWRP, I can't do the OTA having a custom recovery? I have to go through this process in order to take the OTA, correct?
*update* It is in fact 4.4.2.
Chrome scans and blocked LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.zip as being malicious
Not sure I want to go this route.

What Rom is installed? I did a factory reset from the stock firmware and got the dreaded no boot, no successful recovery..... I didn't do all this, all I did was install stock recovery.... It booted and I put twrp right back on.
Im pretty sure I did this from recovery after removing sdcard and putting stock recovery on it so I could flash it.
I will try to find the links I used.....
+Edit
I see you found it, I did as he stated but not from a pc. I entered them through the twrp command line option. Rebooted and then put twrp right back on. I know its a different scenario but I hadn't seen anyone else mention using twrp like this.
Quick question. Sorry to bump a dead thread but does anyone have a link to LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.zip? It keeps failing for me.
What issues is the tablet having, depending on them you may not even need iy

The tablet has no issues. I just want to have all the files that would get me back to 100% out of the box in case something goes wrong. I don't want to end up with a brick.
Im trying to download the file from the provided link. The rom is downloading as a Zip. How do i download it as a KDZ file type?
legit?
So is all this software legit? My PC keeps yelling at me that it's a bad idea to download/run these files. Is there another thread for the VK810 getting back to stock?

I haven't found one and I'm really good at finding information. This is not critical feedback, I promise, but if you're tentative about doing things with your PC because it tells you it's a bad idea, maybe researching a little about development for your PC or Operating System might be a better place to start. I won't tell you that your PC is wrong, but I've done this a few times and it hasn't broke my laptop yet. But, then again, if it did, I know how to fix it, even if it means wiping my hard drive and starting over. If you're not willing to take the necessary risks, maybe development isn't the thing for you. I'm sure that you could find someone to do this for you, at a price of course.

Ra. I am using this to bring my lg g pad 8.3 back to stock. however at a certain point the "uptest MFC application" stops working. in the program details it says "fault module name " stack hash _5861 and in the R_D tool GUI it lists an "extract file error:". help?
Can someone upload the VK81011A_01.KDZ file? I've downloaded it three times and it keeps saying that the archive is corrupt. I've tried it from home and work on two different computers.

You just need to rename it from .zip to .kdz. This is in the instructions in the OP. Hope that helps.
Let me know if you get it to work. I keep getting errors from the LG tool despite following the directions exactly. I've tried 4 times and no luck.

So, I tried to root my phone using instructions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
I skimmed it the first time and missed the red, bold text saying not to use this on the US version and I also did not perform a backup, but thats in the past. Currently, it will boot, give me the Samsung logo and shutdown.
I'm sure this is wrong, so I hope someone can correct me.
-First, I need to find the correct rom(which I've been unable to do so far)
-I boot the phone into download mode(Vol down+home+power?) and plug it into my pc
-I open Odin, select the new rom as the pdf file, and press start.
Also, if I manage to screw this up again, would at&t be willing to help since its not totally bricked?

Yes, this is correct. I would recommend looking on Sammobile and see if you can find a stock version for your phone model. You use the PDA file in ODIN, then you flash.
As for AT&T, I am not sure of their policy regarding software crashes on phones.

I looked last night and I didn't see it (sgh-i747 right?). Some guides use a PIT file in odin as well, will I need this and where would I find it? If I can't get the stock rom are there any compatible custom ones you'd recommend?

Its rare that you would have to use a PIT File, mostly for the fact that it can mess up the bootloader.
As you have performed a soft brick, you likely do not have CWM, thus you cannot flash any custom firmware. *
My advice would be to wait to see if someone will upload the stock firmware for your model. I would also visit AT&T and say that your phone suffered a software crash.
:good:
* However, it is possible to flash a custom ROM if they can be flashed VIA ODIN, such as the CM9 Resurrection edition. (Does not exist for the AT&T Edition just yet)
I considered going into the store and playing dumb, but I heard they just replace the phone on the spot and sometimes later check the bricked phone before fixing it. I don't want to risk receiving a $600 bill in two weeks.
Can they tell the difference in my case?
I doubt it, as they are not trained as samsung tech support is.

In this case, as it is a custom Binary, it would most likely void your warranty. However, if they do not know how to check, then you should be good
So I went down to the at&t store and they couldn't do anything without sending it to tech or having them come in or something. She also said that if the warranty is void they won't do anything, not even for a fee.
I suppose I'll have to activate my old phone until the rom is released.
I'm sorry to hear that mate, but no worries, it wont be long till someone post's the official stock firmware
I hope you had taken a efs backup before this blunder.

Last week my girlfriend received her brand new Huawei P8. I saw it was still running Android 5.0.1 so i wanted to update it first before she would start using it.
There was no OTA update available so i downloaded the B321 update, however i ****ed up! Update progress said it completed i believe, this went very fast. But now i am in a boot loop. I understand that i shouldn't had unzip the zipfile. I extracted the dload folder but this was wrong..
Also my bootloader was nog unlocked yet. I now try flashing another rom using fastboot but i get the following error:
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
I believe this is because of the locked bootloader. I try to get an unlock code and unlock the bootloader using fastboot. However, i need the product-id. Is there another method to obtain the product-id rather than entering the code using the dial?
I only needed the info on the box, nothing from the phone. Hope you get it fixed!
How did you obtain the product id? I got the IMEI and Serial from the box but i need a product id as well.

Bricked Huawei P8
Hi. Maybe some of you manage to unbrick your phones and you have some tips. I was trying on mine everything that I found on internet. I can't start the EMUI everytime, but when it's starting I have only 3 options, reboot, download and recovery, shutdown. Hit the download but ends up with an error. I was flashing also with the fastboot. Nothing. Do you have other ideas to share? At this moment I can try everything. Thanks
Cheers
Ok so I'm not sure where to put this thread and please forgive my bad grammar and punctuation if I have any. I already read some threads on this forum about a problem like mine and tried to follow the instructions to get back into my phone, but none of it worked so....
I have a Samsung Go Prime that I bought from Wal-Mart for around $100. I rooted it, and got the message "unauthorized software has been found on your phone, please take it to nearest AT&T etc etc". So I did just that, took it to AT&T, called up Samsung customer care on the phone, and took the phone to some sort of Samsung representative or worker person in Best Buy and nobody seems to be able to help me. I downloaded Odin and Philz Touch and tried to flash that and I kept getting Nand fail. I tried Kies and evidently Sammobile website doesn't seem to have the firmware I need either.
Somebody plleeeaassee help me. I had to pay another $100 just to get another phone so now I feel like I wasted $100 for a phone that wont work now. Maybe I didn't use Odin or Philz Touch firmware properly or didn't follow a certain instruction correctly at some point?
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Kies does work, just go to Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation and enter the serial number, its gonna say not supported but it works Ive done it

I tried that and after clicking for it to start it again said something like "please check the serial number" etc like I put in the incorrect number. I'm pretty sure what I put in was the correct serial number. It was on the sticker under the battery....

SN: R28H30GVPCN
I'm pretty sure your phone is bricked, nand fail was the superbrick error on the i9100 (Galaxy S2 Int) if I'm remembering correctly.
If I'm right, sorry man :/
Anybody know how to fix the nand fail? Anything I can flash to fix it?
When I tried to flash Philz Touch I read in one of the threads that I had to do something like putting the file in some kind of folder (might have been called tar tool) and click a certain batch.bat file. i tried that and nothing happened, so I just loaded the Philz Touch file directly into Odin.
Did I make a mistake somewhere? Is there anything at all that I can do to fix this? If not, then how and where would I find the contact info and address of the manufacturer so I can send the phone in for fixing?
Hello,
I would like to buy this smartphone, i like the dual screen concept.
But i live in France and i need 800 (b20), 1800, 2100 and 2600 bands (b7).
I would like to know if you bought this smartphone at banggood shop recently? If yes, please let me know what models did you received?
Because there are 3 models of this smartphone: 201, 205 and 206.
The 201 was the first one built in Russia in 2014.
Now this smartphone is built in China with 2 news models since March 2015 called 205 (for European market with all bands) and 206 for chinese market (without b20).
Thank you very much.
Under the BG QA section it states that it is the 206.
I bought from Banggood and it's 206.
Hi, I have a 201 made in China in 2016, shipped from the Netherlands.
I bought it from Coolicool EU stock, it is still available.
Poor CS from Banggood
Buyers Beware: Elephone P5000 developed faulty battery whilst still in warranty. CSBanggood informed. Advised us to return phone, which we did. Now being ignored by customer service.
Have been regular customers with Banggood for a few years and told CS about fault whilst in warranty. Then returned the phone following their instructions... And waited and waited and waited... Currently being ignored over a phone that they are in their rights to return to elephone. Consider purchasing from other suppliers...

Hi, I bought from Banggood (October 9) and received a 206 (November 4 - 4 weeks to Australia).
I was able to flash OS to 202 RU (with the patient help of people on this forum), still only the Chinese bands of course.
I can say that it did come with the full retail box including earphones etc which were not included in the product description...
Good Luck with your decision!

So i followed multiple advice here on the forum:
I had a major problem getting the computer (an old XP) and yotaphone_flasher software to see the phone.
Eventually I found that manually updating the USB drivers in Device Manager worked (by right-clicking on each driver and selecting Update from the drop-down menu) - after hours of frustration...
1/ I downloaded the latest chinese firmware CN/4.4.3-S01-003-CN1.0.3.32a.zip and this russian firmware: RU/5.0.0-RU1.1.124.zip.
2/ I extracted the Radio Folder from the Chinese zip, expanded the Russian one and replaced the Radio folder there with the Chinese version.
3/I placed the expanded/modified Russian firmware Program files/yotaphone/firmware
4/I rebooted the phone in Download mode by holding the down & power buttons down (after choosing restart) until the Downloading text appeared.
5/I ran yotaphone_flasher.exe and followed the prompts, using the cd command to navigate to the firmware folder.
The installer proceeded with the error reported elsewhere: something like "cannot load sytem.img"
Wait for the installer to finish loading the rest of the files then follow VirtuaLeech's instructions:
- After YotaFlash is finished your phone will reboot and still be in a bootloop
- Put your phone in download mode again. Just keep holding power and volume down.
- Now go into the command prompt on your computer and navigate to the YotaFlash folder (for me it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\yotaphone_flasher)
- Now type the following command with your phone still in download mode: fastboot flash -S 512M system firmware/system.img This will flash the failed system.img in multiple parts.
- After the flashing of the system partition is finished reboot your phone with the command: fastboot reboot
After this your phone will restart. It may take around 10 minutes to finish and if everything went right the Android unlock screen should appear.

No not rooted.
My limited understanding was the issue is with available PC memory for the installer (my PC is ancient). Or perhaps the size of replacement system file is larger than what is being overwritten? It is common here on the forum...

I think they just mean that if you have an AT&T phone in the US you would get the updates as OTAs and likely before any of the flashable images showed up on the web. You would be less likely to need to flash a stock firmware. But, I could be wrong.
I have baseband : g891aucu1apg7
Unlocked at&t and outside us, should i upgrade it directly to this firmware or i need to step up my baseband one at a time?

Im also wondering why this firmware is for people who are outside of US.

See bullet points below:
* A person buys this AT&T exclusive phone, it is network-unlocked so that any SIM card will work (even those from other countries)
* That person brings the phone outside of the US but still plans on using it with a non-AT&T SIM card (a consultant, a businessman, a tourist, etc..).
Or maybe that person lives in another country and just wants to use this particular phone.
* However, AT&T OTA (Over-The-Air) incremental updates only work "within" AT&T network (an AT&T subscriber).
* Therefore, since that person is using a non-AT&T SIM on this phone, automatic OTA updates will NOT trigger/work.
* The solution is to "manually flash" the OTA update by obtaining a copy of that file--Then manually flash it, either via "Modified-ODIN" or via the "Standard Recovery Mode" -- This works, and should not stop people in the US (who are also AT&T subscribers) to use it.
* This is just a work-around-OTA-update (manual flash) for those people outside the US or for those people using a non-AT&T SIM card (US or non-US).
* It should be noted that an OTA update is only a PARTIAL update that is dependent on the currently installed version.
For example: If there is an update "version D" available, the person must ensure that his phone's current firmware is "version C". If not, then that person would have to find the missing updates first before flashing to the latest OTA: "ver A --> ver B --> ver C --> ver D"
This is time consuming and confusing to some, therefore... It is preferable to have ONE complete package, all-in.
* Thus the existence of this STOCK FULL FIRMWARE file. It contains the complete files and drivers necessary to quickly update that person's phone directly to the recent/latest version without worrying about version dependencies or incompatibilities.
* This full firmware update will ERASE your settings and data, so back them up with known methods.
* This firmware update will not change your network/sim-lock status. If yours is unlocked, it will stay unlocked.
This firmware update contains the following files:

Thanks for your detailed explanation, that's right, It is diffcult for AT&T phone outside US updating to the latest based.
Went through good, resolved several pre-existing issues I had with the device. However it now tells me that I can't use Samsung Pay due to an Unauthorized Modification. Additionally, I'm now stuck on 4G instead of 4G LTE, and I can't access the radio settings via *#*#4636#*# and lastly some menu options in Settings simply crash it. Other than that works fine
where can I find the next update after february security update?
whats the password for the file
Best root method for this firmware , flash aboot BL, or twrp in AP ?
Can anyone point me towards the most recent odin flashable nougat image? thanks in advance

best method we have for root in nougat is the eng.boot.img that activefan01 obtained on around #710 in the active root sucess thread...
BL is not unlocked, so no twrp for us, only flashfire
