Odin not working for me - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I opened odin and tried pushing the nc2kernal to it and now my phone will not boot up. I do not have a custom rom yet. I was under impression I was to have this on my phone first then try and load a rom. I am stuck at red Verizon screen. I can get into safe strap and I tried to install my back up but I am still getting stuck at the red screen. Any ideas?
On the red screen the white check mark is still got the white glow moving on it and there is a blue light at top.
I need the Kernel: linux 3.4.0-2106277 so I can reflash it and replace this one I did. Can anyone help please

Still stuck at Odin screen, any help?

I was able to get into safe strap and it is saying I do not have an OS installed. What do I do now. I went to best buy to see if they could reflash but they couldn't get it to work

Stuck on yellow screen no computer

I was messing around with my phone getting trying to get the annoying "insufficient storage available" notification to go away, I was able to by going into the internal files then deleting the app data.
I rebooted my phone and now I'm stuck at the yellow sprint logo. I went to recovery mode did a factory reset then tried to wipe cashe and a dead android appears with a red exclamation point. Then it reboots and goes back to the yellow logo and freezes there.
Help!! I don't have a computer at the moment, and no clue what to do!

You need a computer at this moment. So you can go back to stock. Appearently you deleted something.

I won't have access to a computer for a couple weeks. Do you know how sprint would handle this issue? I don't have insurance but I just got the phone a month ago.
If you can get into stock recovery mode - Power+Home Button+Volume Up. Try a 'factory reset'.
If that doesn't work you can always take it in and say you what every you feel is okay (phone stopped booting or whatever) and see what they say.

+1! I keep odin and Noobls mdc tar all unzipped on a sdcard I have when I travel so I can just jump on any pc and revive my device if I need to. #procrackflashertip lol.

Can you go to a friend's place? Library? Work? Somewhere with a computer? If you have the file to go back to stock you should have your phone back no more than 10 mins max.

You won't be able to do anything. Make sure to always keep a stable rom backed up so that in cases like these, you can at least use your phone.
Thanks. Everyone for the advice I will have to do that next time, I took it to sprint and they wanted $100 to fix it!! Heck no when I can do it myself. The lady said it was a software malfunction hehe if only she knew I had been hacking away lol
So I am going to do it myself, I'll just need to flash stock mf9 right??

Stick on sprint screen after odin reset

I was on Sac's Custom Rom. After using the camera tonight, it started to boot loop on me. I was able to get into download mode, and reset it, however now I am stuck at the sprint screen. The blue light at the top keeps glowing faint and strong, but I can't get past that. Any ideas? I used the method and file from qbking77's site.

[Q] Need help with VZW Note 3

Hi I rooted my brothers Verizon Samsung Note 3 which was on 4.4.2 NC4, Installed the safestrap recovery and have setup Hyperdrive on rom slot 1. My problem is when I try to access the stock rom slot it hangs at the Verizon logo. I've pulled the battery and same result time after time. I flashed a prerooted de-odexed 4.4.2 nc4 stock rom to the stock slot and it still hangs at the Verizon screen. Today I tried to do a factory wipe on the stock rom slot to see if I could flash another rom to it and it said it could not mount /system and /systemorig. Can anyone provide some info as to how I go about fixing this so he can have his stock rom back? Thank you.
Odin back to a stock ROM, non-rooted. If you want to, you'll have to start the root process from scratch.

That's what I figured the answer would be. I do have a 4.4.2 NC4 non rooted stock to flash. Thank you for your help.

One thing you might try first. I don't know about your initial problem getting stuck at the boot screen. But I tried the other day to do a complete wipe and wound up with the "unable to mount" errors. I had to go into the Mount screen in safestrap and uncheck all boxes, then recheck everything. For some reason, I had to click the System box several times to get the checkmark to show up. Might be worth a shot. Helped me avoid the hassle of having to odin back to anything
When I setup the 1st custom rom on the sd card I accidentally did a full wipe and after that I've been getting unable to mount errors like you stated. I will try that this weekend when I see him. Thanks again for the help and I'll report back with the results.

Clicked system for 10 minutes and the check mark will not show up.

Sorry to hear that. I wish I knew more about the error. Or the "mounting process" that seems to have failed. It was only by luck that I figured it out on mine. I was already downloading the files to odin my phone back and start over when I lucked out. Figured I would pass it along before you had to lose all you had done. But I'm not sure what else you can do at this point. Maybe someone else will chime in.
I was able to successfully recover from a "hang at the Verizon logo" soft-brick on my NC4 4.4.2 Note 3 by following the directions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483380 It seems like it might be worth a shot.
I tried flashing 4.4.2 NC4 non rooted and now it just hangs at the Verizon screen. When it boots up it still shows the custom logo under the Samsung Note III logo as well. What can i do or is it time to get a new phone? Thanks.

i'm having all the same issues you are... I cant even install new custom modified or non note 3 apks... you may have to factory reset one more time after ODIN.
I can't even get into recovery to factory reset it. We destroyed it. Lol. Just going to buy a new phone.

Replaced the phone but I'd still like to see if I can fix this one.
Does anyone have a prerooted 4.4.2 NC4 tar.md5 or other tar.md5 that I could flash in Odin? I have tried the stock 4.4.2 NC4 tar.md5 and it still just hangs at the Verizon screen and it just reboots when I try to enter recovery to factory wipe it. I have the 32g pit file already. Thanks.

I actually just let the phone sit at the recovery screen and it came back up.
I originally used towel root and rom manager to try and load the cwm software.
Back to square 1 tomorrow

[Q] Is there anyway to get the Sprint boot animation back?

I have flashed a few roms since I have had this phone and have lost the stock boot animation for sprint (yellow splash) along the way. This never really bothered me but now the time has come to upgrade to a new phone. I was planning on giving my old phone to my mother and wanted to get it back to practically 100% stock. This is the only thing I am missing. I have looked around the forums and Google for a few days now with my free time but all to no avail. So the question is is there a way to get it back and if so how. Thanks all!

Just flash the stock NAE tar file and it will return your phone to out of the box stock.
I have flashed it to go back to stock but I only get the Samsung logo and am still missing the Sprint splash screen on boot and power off.
Sent from my SPH-L720
I have solved the problem after flashing the stock tar again I found an app by Samsung called Refresh Customization by Samsung on the app store and by using that I manged to get the Sprint splash screen back and everything is now where it should be.
