I was on Sac's Custom Rom. After using the camera tonight, it started to boot loop on me. I was able to get into download mode, and reset it, however now I am stuck at the sprint screen. The blue light at the top keeps glowing faint and strong, but I can't get past that. Any ideas? I used the method and file from qbking77's site.

ok, my brother dropped his Sprint Evo. It will boot but only into the 4g screen where it freezes. I have tried going in to the bootloader and doing a recovery but get the red caution screen. should i do a hard reset, i was trying to get around not losing any thing on here. but if a HR will work then its better than not having it at all. It is not rooted, so there are not modifications done its all stock.
any help will be appreciated
YeA try a hard reset. If that does not work then root it and try a custom rom

I was trying to root my S4 using the video and downloads provided by QBking77. That did not work so I tried to update Samsung software.
I got a message saying the software has been downloaded and will be installed. Clicked yes and now all I get is a black screen with recover booting on the upper left hand side corner.
Please help.
Go do some research on Odin. I'm not very knowledgeable in this, I came from HTC, but I think Odin can help you.

First try pulling the battery and starting again. If you are still stuck you are going to want to Odin the stock tar back on.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I dunno what I did but somehow its working again. Pulled out the battery and still the screen with Samsung Galaxy S4 and recovery booting showing on the screen. Pressed the power off + volume down + home screen button and was somehow able to restart the phone which seems to be working fine now.
The problem is I dont know what happened there? And if its safe to go ahead and update the samsung software or not?
Any clue? Any advice is appreciated.
Sounds like a typical update fail to me. It will most likely do the same thing if you try again.
I was messing around with my phone getting trying to get the annoying "insufficient storage available" notification to go away, I was able to by going into the internal files then deleting the app data.
I rebooted my phone and now I'm stuck at the yellow sprint logo. I went to recovery mode did a factory reset then tried to wipe cashe and a dead android appears with a red exclamation point. Then it reboots and goes back to the yellow logo and freezes there.
Help!! I don't have a computer at the moment, and no clue what to do!

You need a computer at this moment. So you can go back to stock. Appearently you deleted something.

I won't have access to a computer for a couple weeks. Do you know how sprint would handle this issue? I don't have insurance but I just got the phone a month ago.
If you can get into stock recovery mode - Power+Home Button+Volume Up. Try a 'factory reset'.
If that doesn't work you can always take it in and say you what every you feel is okay (phone stopped booting or whatever) and see what they say.

+1! I keep odin and Noobls mdc tar all unzipped on a sdcard I have when I travel so I can just jump on any pc and revive my device if I need to. #procrackflashertip lol.

Can you go to a friend's place? Library? Work? Somewhere with a computer? If you have the file to go back to stock you should have your phone back no more than 10 mins max.

You won't be able to do anything. Make sure to always keep a stable rom backed up so that in cases like these, you can at least use your phone.
Thanks. Everyone for the advice I will have to do that next time, I took it to sprint and they wanted $100 to fix it!! Heck no when I can do it myself. The lady said it was a software malfunction hehe if only she knew I had been hacking away lol
So I am going to do it myself, I'll just need to flash stock mf9 right??
I was using odin to get my phone back to stock and everything seemed to go ok, it said pass then rebooted but it gets to the yellow sprint screen and just stays there. The blue light is on but cannot get past this screen. I flashed the Tar from Sammobile. Anything I can do to get past this or is the phone bricked? Oh and I have tried the MF9 firmware and the MDL firmware and it gets stuck every time.

That was the issue. I had to go to stock recovery and do the factory reset and not all is ok. Thanks
need some help guys. im stuck in a bootloop. I used QBKING;s videos to root and install a custom recovery. this all went flawless. I then used his video to get native hotspot working and this is where it began. Upon completion my first boot hung on the sprint boot animation. I pulled the battery and booted into recovery to restore my nandroid that was a stock rooted nandroid i did before the attempt to get hotspot working. now my phone just bootloops at the galaxy s4 screen. How can i get out of this? is my only option to install a custom rom? I am on mk2 and can get into recovery and download mode if this helps.
Ive tried wiping cache, dalvik and doing a factory reset with the same results.
just tried installing a stock rooted deodeked rom also a 4.3 mk2 rom. and im still bootlooping.
can someone send me a link to an unrooted stock 4.3 mk2 tar that i can flash in odin...im having trouble finding it

i just finished the flash through odin...im not sure if it takes a while to boot after the flash, but it appears that i am stuck at the sprint boot animation...any ideas?
edit: just booted to the lock screen and give me an error message saying that "unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped" and then it reboots again...this is my new boot loop.
UPDATE: I decided to reflash the stock unrooted .tar again. it went through the boot process and took a long time on the sprint boot animation, but it did continue to boot into android. THANKS...my heart beat and blood pressure are now back to normal. LOL

If you still want to unlock the hotspot, you will find the correct files for the MK2 software in post 337 of the hot spot mod thread in the android development section. If you use a version that doesn't match your current software version you will get another bootloop.
