I have this razr m xt907 that i bought. It was updated to kit kat 4.4.2, i want to put it on prepay ( page plus) but i cant flash kit kat on the M. I used rsd lite to downgrade back to JB 4.1.2..... of course, it failed. then it got stuck in fastboot mode. I didn't know why. The bootloader is locked btw, don't know if that matters, I have done this before and the downgrade went through fine. wtf happened
I used moto razr m utility by Dan Rosenburg to get it to recover.... it rebooted to bp tools mode and now i am stuck in it. tried saferoot and moto fail 2 go afterwards and all the programs say successful, but i cant tell, I cant recover the normal 4.4.2 mode and cant downgrade back to 4.1.2
plz help
You can't downgrade on a locked boot loader. Flashback yo stock KitKat using RSD. Root with towelroot and unlock with Motocopalypse. Downgrade using house of moto universal script. Search google for house of moto.

thanks so much, one question... rsd lite keeps killing my flashes, even the kitkat one, i got it from: sbf.droid-developers(dot)org
keeps failing on this one.
DO you know where i can get the stock 4.4.2, or if itll even let me, if bootloader is still locked...?
I personally prefer house of moto over RSD. You may have to do a full data wipe when you do it. That website gives good fxz files... Read through the house of moto thread. You can use it to go back to stock 4.4.2.

When I used house of moto, I did it successfully without wiping my data.

Is it possible to root 4.2 without data loss?
Thanks
nexus 7, rezound, RAZR maxx, evo
That classic answer: it depends (but should be able to)
What are you on now? Stock, stock but rooted and unlocked? A custom 4.1.2 ROM? What do you want to get to? Stock, stock & rooted. . .
That will help you get a better answer.

I am on stock 4.2. I ultimately want to be able to freeze apps to gain back control of my data useage. Too many apps are running wild.
nexus 7, rezound, RAZR maxx, evo
I read there was a hack to root without data loss in 4.1.1 (there's a thread on that somewhere) but it was fixed as of 4.1.2
I'm on 4.2 stock as well, but wished I rooted from the get-go so if there is a way I'd like to know.
I just got 4.2 running and from the looks of it I have root access . Updated from 4.1.2 and installed root keeper and no data loss at all
Unlocking boot loader is unneeded for me, I just want to freeze apps.
Thanks

Do it in the right way, i.e. unlock your boot loader. You can also backup your data first and restore it later. Just my 2¢ ...

I gave in and unlocked the boot loader and all data lost but I am now rooted

okay so i updated to jellybean when it released and never rooted so today i rooted and installed safestrap and i deleted the verizon apps i dont use and i heard that if you dont have the exact apps you cant update to the latest version of android... so if our phones get an update how will i update???? i am nervous i wont be able to update my phone
Just download rsd lite 6.14.x. then get a few .sbf files for the droid m. Get more than one just to be sure you get your phone back in less than 30 min. Also download Motorola device manager. Its about 32mb or so. You know its installed correctly when it recognizes your phone by name ie xt907 or whatever you have plugged in. This particular program works with only Motorola in the same way that Odin works for samsung. If you have root then use Any reboot program (I use ROM toolbox) and reboot into boot loader. If your phone is borked then press volupanddown at the same time and that gets boot loader too. That combo only works when its broken, there are other instructions if its not but just use an app if its working. Plug it in search for file(on RSS litre next to the large empty rectangular white box, decompress and begin flashing. Goes fast until it gets to ext.4 or some such. That takes about 15 min. Then it keeps going 22.22(you will know what that means if you are doing this!) and then reboots into ICS. There is a .sbf fast boot file on here that is the jellybean factory rom too but I never used it. I know this works and if you need to you can pm me at any time. As soon as I see it I will get back with you. This sounds a lot more complicated than it is. I learned everything I know about android from XDA. I'm itchin to pay that back.

Omg thank you so much this helps so much even If I could go back to ICS that's fine but where do I get these .sbf files and the jellybean one

I don't know about the sbf files but you can get the stock jellybean firmware from here

It contains all the Verizon and amazon bloatware goodness. I did some searching around Google and as far as I know, a update is likely to happen in a few months. Not 100% sure on it though.
Thank you but I flashed back to stock and I am back to my bloated glory

You can install Titanuim Backup and freeze all bloat
That's crazy. The Australian Razr M has NO BLOAT. It's pretty much a vanilla ICS (with JB on the way). Our bloat consisted of 1 app.
You can debloat your phone with an app called p3droid toolbox for razr m

I just froze the bloat apps with stock settings cause its pretty much the same thing as freezing

Flash a XT905 specific firmware? http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=20
I've got an M with unlocked BL, and rooted. I only like the root so I can use Adfree, I don't get into the deeper stuff. I paid someone $50 to flash the phone to PagePlus, and I don't want to have to do that again after a RSD.
I've got the KK nag screen bugging me twice a day everyday to do it's thing. From what I've read, this is not possible till I RSD.
I really wanted a XT1080M, but no one can flash them to PP yet.
Sooooo..... do I stick with JB/root/adfree and live with the nag, or do I RSD to 412 and let the OTA do it's thing? I see on the RSD files page, there's 442 on there... is it possible to RSD straight to 442 or do I have to go 412 then OTA to 442?
I realize there's no root, but I do have the unlocked BL, so there's hope for the future I guess... but I really want/need the bigger phone and like moto hardware. So I guess its' fix the M up, or go razr Maxx HD.
what do you guys think?
If you are unlocked, you can flash in RSD whatever you want. And you can root in KK too, of course. Just flash SuperSU package in custom recivery

For Pageplus users don't upgrade to KitKat
Do not update to KitKat it will not work with Pageplus.
In order to get pageplus to work on the Razr M/Maxx HD the radios on the phones are down versioned to ICS so that the changes to NV_ONLY to stick. This hack will not work with the phone running KitKat. As of yet I have not seen any work around for this problem.
Since you are rooted you can stop the OTA nag screen by freezing the Verizon updater app.
Check out this threat for all things about flashing Razr M to pageplus

Wow.. am I glad I asked before pulling the trigger! That's what I love about this community. Thank you laspero, I had no idea the update would render my device useless. Any recommendations for what app to freeze with or what that app is called?
I use 'App Quarantine' and froze 'Updater'
Ok, here we go....
This past November, I rooted my wife's XT907, unlocked the bootloader, unlocked the GSM, and flashed a custom rom to the phone. I bought my wife a new phone today, and the XT907 is now going to be my daily driver.
I have been browsing the forum here trying to gather some information about getting CM11 on this jewel safely. It seems that I have to put the official KK bootloader on it??? Some things have changed since I last tried to do anything on this phone, and I'm not sure I understand what needs to be done. It looks as though the information is scattered everywhere =/
Could anyone list me the steps on getting CM11 flashed to this phone without bricking it? Will I have to unlock the GSM again as well?
Here is what is currently on the phone:
Bootloader - Unlocked
GSM - Unlocked
TWRP 2.6.3.0
Rom - Unofficial SlimKat 4.4.2.beta.2-UNOFFICIAL-20131230-1146
Thanks!
According to the CM 11 thread you can flash a few of them on the jb kernel... But if you want the kk kernel download the official 4.4.2 and rsd 6.1.6 just boot your phone to fastboot menu then on your PC open rsd plug your phone into the PC with in rsd select the 4.4.2 zip and flash it...then flash TWRP 2.7.1 either by fastboot or root it and use rashr to flash it... As far as gsm I don't know I don't keep up on gsm capabilities of our device sorry...

Ok, thanks. I have this phone on Straight Talk, so I'm not comfortable flashing anything from Verizon on it.
You not comfortable flashing something from Verizon on a Verizon phone...especially when your just going to flash cm... Best of luck... Your may have to update eventually ROM support for the jb kernel may stop soon...

Yes, it was a pain in the ass to unlock the GSM on the original Verizon Rom, so I will keep it as it is. So KitKat via Slim Roms will have to do.
Thanks again.
