What did you do to get it in this condition? Have you tried a different battery and/or charger?

I was flashing the unified kk firmware that JasmineRom has put out and during the flash I knocked the usb cable out and the phone will no longer turn on.
Yes I have tried multiple chargers and one other battery to be sure.
I have ordered a usb jib in hopes that will work, I'll find that out on tuesday if you don't have any other suggestions.
And if worse comes to worse, I'll be forced to send it to a JTAG place and spend 70 or so bucks to have them fix it...

I have no other suggestions other than maybe getting Verizon to swap it out or reflash it.

Anybody ever hear of this?
Started intermittently charge/stop charging.. Then just stopped.
Rebooted? Nothing.
I have an extra battery...tried that....same thing!
Finally I wiped everything and it charged again...all night (thank God... I was at 15%)
BUT....checked just a bit ago and it was intemittently charging and stopping again...now I'm back to no charging. WTF....lol.
Only other info I can offer is the that at times I've used a second nonNote android charger (meant for my hotspot device...that does output to 1.2 but I don't think that would do anything..I used it on my Galaxy 2 Touch for months.
If anyone can give any insights I'd greatly appreciate.
I cannot charge my Note at all rights now.
Have you tried a different charger and/or USB cable?
Regards,
Dave
Thanks...yeah 2 different chargers. USB...you mean charging via PC right? You know i haven't tried it believe it or not!
I'm sure i could wipe everything again and it'd work again..but...big pain!
Right now I have to wall charge the battery itself.
Hey OP, any updates on this??
After I flashed Abyss 2.5 on top of Cassie's V3 on my Note a few days ago it started doing the charge/stop status and I could ONLY charge it while off and even sometimes it was awakening it self up!! And finally it gave up to no charge at all.
As from yesterday is officially "dead" since no recovery/download mode can be entered because of low battery. "Download" mode say's too low battery and it can't download.
Hey guys I really need some help on this. NO external battery chargers are available to try and no one I know has another Note to ask to charge my battery..
What do you thing? Faulty hardware/micro-usb port or something? I'm NOT blaming anyone since it's not a widespread issue but this DID happened ONLY after flashing Abyss 2.5 from CF KKA.
Thank you for your help guys in advance. Please let's try and resurrect my NOTE!
P.S: Also I forgot to add that immediately after flashing Abyss 2.5 I lost USB functionality in any way while power on.
I also tried:
3-4 different wall sockets.
2 different working cables. Original and one SE brand. Both working on other devices.
Tried removing battery MANY times.. left from 20sec to 1-5minutes etc(despair yeah).
PLEASE any info/help would be GREATLY appreciated..

And risk of having my 2year warranty thrown because of root or custom rom which they can blame for my problem? I think otherwise.
When I manage to charge the battery I might put everything back to stock and take it for a check if the problems continue.
Btw, you response: "...Instead of asking people here..." got me thinking a bit.. It should made you think a bit too.. Why?
Because 95% of your problems can be solve from online research. Relatively speaking of course. The ONLY times I couldn't fix something by my self(speaking for electronics, but can be applied on many other different occasions) was because of soldering needs which then I have a certified friend with good soldering skills and he does the job for me..
Example: One Acer 7736Z I was repairing had a blown/dead power ic chip. I ordered it, my friend soldered it since I never messed with soldering and all good. Done.
Another example: I have a Sammy 59D550. I had some problems.. Should I every time that I have a problem find a car to transfer it to the repair center/shop or do some research online which in the end I fixed my problem with a simple firmware update..? I prefer the latter.
Please excuse the comment, I meant it in a more generalized way, not directly to you, but that "...Instead of asking people here..." got me a bit going. No offense meant.

A little update on my "situation".. Phone is charging and ALL thanks to ephestione. Also I followed the video below and did exactly on my note and it's charging as we speak..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pYcgmLhUcQ
Procedure: As it might help future visitors.
I cut a mini usb since as I have many spare.
Attached only the red(positive)/black(negative) wires to the phone's corresponding battery pin.
Forced the battery in to secure a good grip between them.
Connected the other normal USB end plug to my Note's original Samsung USD charger.
Phone is successfully charging for now.
I believe what I did was wipe all and reflash, ...and all was well.
I have found my Note and SGS2 to be pretty sensitive to chargers. What do you mean outputs to 1.2? You need it to output at least 800mah, probably 1000mah. I would expect the Note to draw more power than the SGS2 but I'm not sure. I bought a Rocket Fish (good quality usually) charger from Best Buy. It didn't even say on the box but output only 600mah and the phone acted just like you are saying.
One charger I bought from Walmart, if I plug it in the TOUCH SCREEN STOPS WORKING!! Crazy!
I have had good luck with blackberry chargers. Make sure the USB cable you use is good also. I have had some that worked great with other phones and not with Galaxy phones, even some that worked great with my SGS2 don't work so good with my Note.
wipe battery stats
i reckon you hard reset and stick to OEM batteries, and buy an external charger on ebay!
I am also having a charging problem but it is because any charger that I plug in is loose in the phone and only having it in the right position works. I have tried many different chargers but my port on the phone is just too loose. How do I get it to a Samsung repair shop? I called samsung and they told me they only fix phones that are ment for the US and my phone is an international version.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not service international note in the states. They do not train as their product is not officially sold.

So am I just out of luck getting my charging port fixed?
My note did the same thing. I took some compressed air and sprayed the micro usb charge port with it a few times. Worked like a charm. Remember if any of the pins don't make contact then it wont charge.
Know this might sound goofy but same thing happen to me.
2 things that im pretty sure in some combo, was the issue
1. USB port got dirt/debris
2. The kernel I was running. Im 99% sure this was the issue all along. I was running abyss or something like that.
I just wonderding how many ppl here got red light issues?
had this problem just now. discharged battery and wont turn on.

i've tried all the power + volume combos...how did you get to bootloader?
If people just let their phones charge undisturbed overnight and tried the next day to boot, that number would be -80%..
I bricked my N4 by accidentally flashing a wrong bootloader - a simple error that proved fatal!

That would brick basically any phone. You don't play around with flashing the bootloader unless you're sure.
Got the red light once while doing benchmarks.. But i was able to get into bootloader mode reflash system img.And bam i was good to go..
Dang man, this same problem is happening to the LG Optimus G. There is a thread on xda for that phone and the op says to take the back cover off, disconnect the battery then reconnect it and that fixes it. Maybe worth a shot on the nexus.?? That is if you don't want to reflash the phone.

Why you want to do it the hard way that void the warranty than the easy way?

I plugged on my friend's car charger and suddenly my phone turned off and wont turn on.
When I plug on charger or USB and keep holding power, red led blinks many times, faster and faster.
My computer wont recognizes it.
Any solution?

Holy crap. It's literally IN THIS THREAD.
Leave it on your charger for several hours and see if it boots. If not, it's probably RMA time.
It's plugged for about 10 hours and nothing.
I live in Brazil, no sells here yet and it was bought on USA.

I was just mentioning other options just in case someone couldn't get into the bootloader. What if you send the phone to lg because you couldn't get into the bootloader to reflash and they can by disconnecting the battery and find out that you are unlocked and rooted when the phone boots back up, which would also void your warranty. Although I would not take the back cover off if the phone was stock, might as well send the phone back if you can't get it to boot.

Im wondering if what is posted Here may cause this issue?

You seem to know very little about how chargers, batteries and charging circuitry works. To put your mind at ease, a USB 2.0 port is rated at 5V DC, 500mA. That will charge a Nexus 4, albeit slowly. Your 0.7A charger isn't going to fry anything, as there are multiple safeties built in, unless something is SEVERELY wrong with it, meaning faulty construction.

So you are telling me that, unless there is any issue with the charger (faulty construction) there is no reason to worry about that it will lead to this "Red light of death" or any other issue (lowering battery lifetime for example)?
This is totally off topic but, Do you (personally) think it's true what people say that charging a cellphone with a lower output charger increases its battery service?
Quick question:
Does this red light issue appear when battery is drain to 0% (among other factors)

There is no reason to worry unless the charger or your phone is faulty, in other words, hardware failure on either side. Unfortunately there would be no easy to foresee that.
The charging circuitry will only use what it needs to do it's job. As long as the voltage is within range and the current is not too LOW, you're OK. The N4 is rated at 900 mA to perform a standard charge. It will accept as low as approx. 500 mA to charge in USB mode. That idea is rubbish.
Since I upgraded to 4.3, the charging time has incresed up to 8hrs. I flashed the latest rom 4.3Y but It didn't work. How can I fix this, please help. Thanks

I realize this isn't exactly a useful answer, but I've always noticed a slow charge with mine. Now on 4.3 it's even worse. Maybe it's just the norm.
Does anyone else think so?
Dont think so. Mine is charging w/o any issue. It should be the problem with the mini-usb socket on your N7 rather than 4.3.
what an usual charging time should be? I mean wall charger, all stock?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
mine is about 2h30'
here is around 6 hours.. regardless of the usb cable or ac outlet. I read some other post where resoldering the usb socket on device helped. I am thinking though of sending it back if doesn't work properly from the start, it's only 2 weeks ago I bought it
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Yes, it should be problem with mini usb socket.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Well maybe the ROM or the USB cable, try to charge with another cable.
Try to wipe Battery Stats (in recovery mode)
So Ive had my Nexus 4 since it came out with no problems until now, when i place it on charge it stays at 0% no matter how long its charging for with USB and AC. Is there anyway to fix it like elaving it charging for a few days in hope it eventually charges or is it just a fancy brick when not connected to power? Also my warranty is out so not able to exchange it.
Same problem, somebody help please. :/
Have you tried a different charger?
Does the phone actually turn on? Do you get any response at all from it?

You may have the dead battery problem that has been mentioned before in the forums, do a search for nexus 4 red light of death, there are a number of solutions, some might work, others might not, but that is my best guess

I suddenly woke up to my Note 3 saying it's charging, but it's not. Slowly the battery is decreasing, but it still says it's charging. I'm not using the factory Note 3 charger. I'm using my Motorola factory charger and it's been fine until now.
What sd card are you using? I am having issues with my note 3 that seem to be tied back to the SanDisk ultra card. Minor issues are still present with another brand and issues are absent with no sd card. "Battling" with Samsung support right now.

I know it's SanDisk, but that's all.
That could be your issue. My original note 3 cooked while charging with that sd card. Having major heat issue with replacement now too. Hopefully the new sd card solves this since Samsung is being no help. They want me to send in my phone so they can "evaluate" it for two weeks while I twiddle my thumbs with no phone.

It could be draining faster than it can charge. Try the N3 charger to see if it will charge faster... It will at least keep the phone going.

Ever since going to KK, my phone says it to use the factory charger. Says this even when I am using it. I went back to stock MJE and it stopped. Went back to KK and a week later the errors are back. I am going to go back to MJE and root it and see if they stop for good.

I think it's just not using the factory charger. It charged a couple percent if I left it on my computer, but it was extremely slow. I ordered an OEM off of eBay and hopefully it's here soon.
Okay so I got the new charger and still getting the same result. Any Ideas?

How did you get it to flash back to MJE?. I'm getting that same error message despite always using the factory charger; anyway- Odin won't recognize it when hooked up to the computer either.
In the meantime, I've ordered a wireless charger so I can at least keep using it.

Bad battery?
Make sure whatever AC adapter you're using can output at least 2/2.1amps, if it cant its gonna charge really slow. Thats the only reason, SD card wouldn't have anything to do with charging. If still not working you've damaged your battery and need a new one
Sounds like your usb port could have gone bad. You can buy a new one on ebay for cheap and do your own port swap which is simple. You can look it up on YouTube make sure you get port for your your device. Make sure to use the orginal charger for your device yoh could do damage to your battery, port, or device itself if you dont use original charger. It will happen damage over time if charger has similar specs. Faster if chargers specs are off.
