I got my S4 E300S (Korean version of S4). Does anyone know which custom ROM will work with it? I am not sure if I should look for I9500 or I9505 ROM. Any suggestions? or anyone had a try before?
you should have posted this in the questions thread, and the question isnt if any custom rom is compatible with it ,
the real question is if there is a Custom Recovery for it. if there was you would have seen people making custom roms for it

Hi
I wanted to know- is it possible to run the original I9505 firmware on the AT&T Galaxy S4?
Let's say i really don't care about LTE, and going to use only HSDPA data. Should there be any problems doing this?
Yes, I did a tmo stock on att no problem. So the i9505 will run on att also.
Good luck.

Could you provide more details? Did you use odin to flash, or some other way?
What i', asking is about full stock i9505 firmware, no modded kernels and whatnot.

You can only flash official firmware for your specific device with odin. If you want to flash a rom based on the firmware of the i905 or t-mo then you need to flash using a custom recovery. Twrp or cwm

I believe so because 9505 and 1337 have the same hardware configuration. I think you just need to make sure you have the right kernel/modem for your carrier... haven't done it yet though...
Just wondering about the safety of installing roms made for the i337 on the i337m or i9505. I recall reading a big thread on XDA talking about this earlier. Thanks.
I've got the i337m and I've never had a issue. On a i9505g Rom now. You can flash anything to anything as long as bootloader isn't locked

Hi friends: as you know a 4.4.2 leak for SGH-I337 is on XDA, thanks to designgears. Actually, there is a .tar version, odin flashable. Can anyone tell me if this is compatible with unlocked canadian I337M and can be safely flashed?

The leak won't work for you because it's a full ODIN package. It's signed for I337 and not the I337M, and is not in a flashable zip form. Even if you could use it, you'd have a locked bootloader afterwards and never have recovery again. You'll have to use some other 4.4.2 ROM, maybe check the i9505 development section for a recovery flashable one.

Thx so much. It's clearer now for me; it is indeed a tar file signed for I337 I was wrongly thinking that since I337M and I337 both share the same hardware rom compatibility might be possible, but I guess the AT&T factor plays the game otherwise. I'll check what's cooking in i9505 thread.
So, If I understand you correctly, an i9505 flashable zip, like wamalite for example, would work for i337m, is that so?

Yes. Any ROM in a flashable zip for any variant of the S4 except the i9500 (exynos model) will work on your device. I9505 are the easiest to get working, some other variant ROMs may need tweaking to work well. There's a thread about running other carrier ROMs in the general section.

last, would there be any knox issues if I flashed I9505 roms or do I have to simply remove knox? I also read that someone who flashed I9505 rom onto his I337m tulred his device to I9505 as well; is that "normal"

I don't know much about how knox affects custom recovery or if you can flash without tripping it. I know for sure it won't stop anything but would just simply void warranty. If you flash an I9505 ROM then because of the build.prop it will tell you it's an I9505, but it's still an I337M, you can't like use the i9505 ODIN files or anything just because you have an i9505 rom.

you've been extremely helpfull, thx a lot bro.
I've been trying to get either carbon Kitkat or aosb 1.2.7 on my i337, but when I try to flash the rom in twrp 2.6.3.1 it keeps giving me an error saying that the rom is only for jflte, jfltexx, i9505, gt-i9505. I don't know how to remedy this problem, am I stuck out?

Depends on what model s4 they have. Just look in the thread for you specific model on how to root and what ROMs are available

TextNow uses the L720T (TriBand) model. I know BC I have one lol. I rooted simply by flashing TWRP 3.0.2.0 for "jfltespr" off TeamWin's site via ODIN, then proceeding to flash the SuperSU zip inside recovery. However, word of the wise, if you're using TextNow Wireless, don't change the ROM!! You will lose the connection between TextNow and Sprint, meaning you'll have 2 different numbers and it messes stuff up. Fun fact in case you didn't know, TextNow S4s are SIM unlocked (GSM will not work in United States, CDMA will though):good:
