Samsung Keyboard double letters - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm facing the following problem when I'm typing an URL address in Chrome address bar. The 1st letter is doubled!!! Sometimes, when I delete the second letter and I type another one, both letters are doubled!!!! for example:
I type "i" it becomes "ii"
I delete second "i" and type "n" it becomes "inin"
it's very frustrating and I wouldn't like to go to Google's keyboard nor turn of predictive text or something.
On on 4.4.2 FNB8
Any solution?
thanks

Problems in SMS texts

Hi
I wonder if some one else has the same problem with SMS writing. When i write a sms message the courser is not adjacent with the words. example
" Abcd efgh ijk[l mnop " the courser appears behind the stream of writing. then when i want to correct a letter in the middle of a text i never get to the specific place for example if i want to correct the letter K i can not get to the exact spot the courser is on the k but it deletes another letter .
[---> is the courser.
Thanks
No problems with me. used Keypads and Letter recogniser, no problem. May be you can try re-aligning the screen again.
i re-alignind the screen but no change same problem.

Qwerty keyboard question?

HI,
I know the HD2 has predictive text, but does it have auto-corrective text, ie if you're typing and hit the wrong key, does the HD2 recognise what you were meant to type and automatically correct it?
Cheers
Hi,I don't think so , predictive text show only different words that all . If you type a wrong letter, the word will be different .
It's an option:
>Settings >Locale & Text > Text input > Spell correction
Stephen
Yes, it does have predictive text to a certain extent. If you hit incorrect keys next to correct keys it's still able to determine the word you intended to type.
While we're here, has anyone managed to call up the 'compact qwerty' keyboard as shown on page 116 of the .pdf manual?
spell correction is selected on my HD2 but it you type a wrong letter , the word you want first doesn't appear in the list .

[Q] url highighting on focus problem

Hi all,
I'm running Android 2.2 on my Galaxy S phone and recently I've noticed problem when trying to type new url in stock browser.
Following happens, when I have the browser in landscape mode and I press on the address bar then on the beginning whole old url string is highlighted but keyboard appears with some delay. When keyboard finally appears the selection is gone and the text cursor is placed at the end of old url, so I have to delete now whole old url to type new one.
In portrait mode there is no such problem, when I focus on the address bar the url is highlighted and as soon as I start typing old url is overwritten.
Have any of you ever encountered such problem?
cheers

Stop Underlining Letters when Typing

I too would like to disable whatever setting causes the letters to be underlined while typing words. I have a droid-pro. I have unchecked settings as follows: show suggestions, auto-correct errors, auto-puncturate, auto-capitalization, show suggestions, auto-correct errors, highlight words for the touch keyboard. And I have unchecked settings as follows: auto-replace, auto-cap, auto-punctuate for the device keyboard.
Yet as I type the letters are underlined until a word is formed and the space bar pressed.
Please help! Thanks,

[Q] Gingerbread SMS dictionary issues

Hello!
I have searched this and found little about it, so I'm gonna ask you about it.
I have LeeDroid HD running Android 2.3.3. I have 2 main issues regarding the sms app: the red dotted line that appears when using words not recognized by the phone (I write my messages in Romanian), and the fact that, when I tap a word in the message (say I typed a wrong character in the middle of it), instead of moving the cursor at that position and allowing me to edit freely, it moves it there, selects the entire word, and presents me options from an English dictionary to choose from as alternatives for the word. When I try to move the cursor back and forth, it navigates the suggestions, and the only way of getting out of them is to tap a white space, then navigating to the needed position with the arrow keys. All the options under Language and keyboard > Touch Input are unchecked (Spell correction, Prediction and Word completion). Am I doing anything wrong? Is it a way to bring back the behaviour of good old 2.2 sms app, or do I need to switch to a custom, less time consuming sms app?
Thank you!
