Boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset then try using Odin again.

I tried that and it did not work. I was on nc4, can you verify what i should be flashing via odin

I used Odin to install NC4, now when it restarts it sits at the Note 3 screen that says custom, forever. Is there a fix for this?

Boot into the stock recovery by holding down Volume Up, Home and Power then do a factory reset, it may work.

You may have a corrupted file.

Did you clear everything but the microsd card?

I fixed it already all you have to do is flash the stock firmware on odin but the stock fw from before it happened on pda and just in case flash the pit for the model and it should be fixed

[RESOLVED]Recovery help

RESOLVED:
- Flashed a stock firmwire image from Sammobile using Odin. (AMDL)
- Did a factory reset in the stock recovery TWICE to get it to finally boot.
- Rooted with motochopper
- Installed TWRP
- Back to Task650.
Okay, so I'm a bit stuck. I was running the newest Task650 rom and KT's 9/17 kernel.
I updated to the 10/20 kernel as soon as it was released and it bugged my phone. Blew up everything, glitched my DPI and colors. It was unusable, however the weirdest part is that my custom recovery was removed so I can't seem to flash the old kernel to get my device back to normal.
I tried using odin but it just keeps failing, so I really am unsure what to do now. If I could get the previous kernel back onto it, it would be fine.
Any help? I can't seem to find a .tar.md5 file for TWRP or clockworkmod to flash a new recovery in Odin. I tried Philz .tar.md5 files but it fails as well.

As long as your not MF3
try goo manager for TWRP
or
Try ROM manager just to flash CWM
Note: do not use ROM manager for nothing else if you didn't already know.

when you say you tried odin, are you saying you tried flashing the stock rom (MDL), tried flashing a custom recovery tar, or both? what error is it giving?
unfortunately i think kt accidentally uploaded a 4.2.2 kernel and thats what you downloaded. check out his thread and see what anyone else in your situation may have done already to remedy this. good luck
Can you reroot by flashing an autorooter through download mode? Doing so might enable you to flash kernels again.
Is factory reset an option?

I managed to get the latest stock firmwire (AMDL 4.2.2) off of Sammobile. I did successfully flash the stock .tar.md5 image through Odin, using the PDA slot. Phone seemed to restart and boot right up, but now gets stuck at the AT&T logo. It makes the boot sound and than BAM; frozen.
Now I am truly stuck. Seems flashing the stock image didn't work.. unless I did it wrong through Odin but I doubt it. These are the steps I took,
- Start Odin
- Connect phone in downloaded mode
- Click PDA (select the I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_ATT.tar.md5 file)
- Wait for it to confirm the firm, than hit start.
- After waiting about 5 minutes it's successful.
Am I doing ANYTHING wrong?

Do a factory reset in the stock recovery after you flash with Odin. It'll get you past the boot loop.

Did a Factory reset in the stock recovery, wiped all data etc. Still gets stuck at the AT&T logo.
EDIT: Did it twice and it worked!

How long have you given the boot? The first boot can take a long time. 5 minutes or more isn't unheard of.

Gave it about 2 hours the first time.. knew it was stuck. However I did the factory reset twice in a row, and it finally booted. Just did a quick root through Motochopper, installed TWRP and now I'm back and running on Task650 :good:

[Q] Can't go into recovery. May have softbricked.

Hi there. I think I soft-bricked my phone. I am running mf3 firmware on my i337 galaxy s4 and i tried to flash Graviton. I was using safestrap and I, like an idiot, didn't use a romslot and did it over my stock. Seemed to work fine until I actually booted the phone. It can't access wifi and therefore wont go past the find wifi screen. I try to enter recovery but it just keeps going to the download screen. After trying every way I could find I still cant either wipe my phone or flash the stock firmware. I have tried kies and odin but nothing works. Can anyone help me out or am I royally screwed?

as long as the phone can go into download mode, you can use odin to reflash the stock firmware (and factory recovery). Check samsungupdates for your model/region and stock/official firmware. You'd have to re-root after. I did the same thing a while back, lost my recovery and this is the method I used to bring my phone back to life, was just sitting at the samsung logo and had no recovery (but had download mode).

Does Odin recognize the phone? Also, when you say it won't go past the "find wifi" screen, does that mean it booted to the "Welcome" screen?

Sorry should have edited the first post. I actually fixed my original problem and am now having a different one. I got all the way through nd did a restore of my stock rom. I then tried to flash the graviton one to a different rom-slot in safestrap. So now there is a completely different partition in the storage and the flash didnt work so I'm now completely stuck in download mode. I have tried to flash the tar files in odin and it fails every time. I should have all of the necessary files for mf3.

If you have the 16GB Galaxy, try flashing this file in the PIT slot in Odin.. Don't put any other files in the PDA slot, etc. It's worked many times when phone would only boot to download..
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fptxnxsqevjhnt9/SGS-I337_16GB.pit
Hey Nerdyblonde, what does this pit file do?
I softbricked my phone when trying to flip from CWM to TWRP. (Thought I could just wipe phone and odin flash on top of CWM... VERY WRONG). Now I can't get into recovery and my phone is telling me to use kies recovery *shudder*. So I tried kies when I couldn't Odin flash to stock rom and still nothing.

Sorry it took a few days to answer.. The Kies screen was the same thing that happened to me... I have the MF3 version, so I can't install custom recovery, but I couldn't boot into recovery period. I flashed that pit file in the pit box on Odin, it restored my recovery.
Do you have MDL or MF3? If you have MDL, I would be really careful not to flash MF3 unless you want to stick with basically stock until one of the geniuses here figures out how to unlock the bootloader.

Bricked during updating

I was performing the Lillipop update and accidentally restored the system and cache partitions after flashing the new ROM. I now am in a Bricked position where I cannot get past the black & white Samsunug Custom screen. I have tried to ODIN NCG & NK2 with no avail. If any one can point me in the right direction to at least get access to using my phone again, that would be awesome. Thanks.

You would need the NK2 ROM and Kernel, and both would have to be flashed via Odin.

OK, thanks. I have the kernel. What about the ROM? That is Zip file, how is that flashed in ODIN? Im only used to doing them in safe strap via the SD card.

@kprice8, do you know if there is a way to then restore data either after re-installing the NK2 firmware, Rom or Lillipop? When i tried with NK2 SafeStrap said it worked, but it hangs on Red Verizon logo. When I restored Data in Lollipop, it says it failed.

How long does it hang at the logo, it can take time.
also if it hangs really pot a couple time. That had worked for me.

[Q] Soft Bricked after Flashing Back

After I updated my Verizon Galaxy S5 to Lollipop, I tried to flash a lower version official .tar through Odin, and got stuck in a bootloop I can still flash .tars through Odin, but I cannot actually use my phone. How do I get my phone working again? Can I?

Can you be more specific? What TAR did you flash? Did you flash an older corresponding kernel?
What is your ultimate goal?
Thanks

I figured out how to restore on my own. Turns out I can only restore to NCG. I fixed my own problem. Thanks for helping though!
To any users who visit this form in the future, you can only flash back to NCG after updating to OTA Stock Lollipop.

This is not true. You can restore back to whatever version you want. If you get stuck in a bootloop just hold down the home, volume down and power buttons for about 10 seconds and the phone will boot in to a maintenance menu. From there select factory data reset with the volume down key and then press the home button to execute the option. It should boot normally after that. To avoid this just enter the stock recovery after flashing the tar in Odin and factory data reset from there.
I think I know what you did

If you downgraded the kernal it won't let you so you have to go back to a lower verison of android or flash the lollipop kernel
