ZOMG. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
I'm going to contact the developer and find out if I can get the code to the lockscreen disable portion of the app. Would love to see if I (or someone with actual Android programming experience) could tweak that into something that disables the swipe lock but can keep the pattern lock enabled.
-edit-
Email sent, though BIP's developer is out of town this weekend. If anyone knows of any other apps that accomplish this, I'd be interested to know.
lock 2.0 disables it, as well as the app "no-lock".
problem is, even with the new version of battery indicator, every app ive tried the stock slider still manages to come back someway somehow , battery indicator seems to be the best solution so far, and im wondering if its lock 2.0 that somehow brings back the stock slider.

Hey have you ever been able to receive a response from the dev?
If you are seeking a "new" lock screen, or the "no slider" look.
I highly recommend Widget Locker.
It has a root bypass of the lock screen "5 second rule" which starts up the "old" lock screen.
I bought the app, used the root bypass option, and i havent seen my old lock screen yet.
They even have a keypress unlock, if you want a very simple lock screen, and you can hold your back button down for .5-2sec or so to unlock.
Though, I dont use the pattern lock, so i have no idea if it works in combination with this or not?
Edit: Disregard, I didn't realize the age of this thread D:
Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread. Funny thing is that I actually did start using WidgetLocker and I DO sometimes get the stock lock screen before it starts, so I was looking for a way to completely disable the stock lock. There are some apps out there that remove the stock lock but it causes every hardware button to wake the device up, which is no good. (This includes battery indicator as I just found out)
Yea, thats no good, it kinda defeats the purpose of having some sort of alternative lock screen when it wakes up on key press like that
I'm not sure why, but i have never got the lock screen to pop up again, unless i kill widgetlocker myself.
Well, if you indeed find out how to get rid of that lockscreen, i would love to know, it would be nice to not have a app constantly running pretending to be an alternate lockscreen, you know?
I am using the Extended Controls app from the market.
With it you can enable & disable just about everything the X10 uses (including the lock screen).
Please help me...
I just bought the htc legend. I love the pattern lock screen which I set, so that i have to make a combination to unlock the screen, but as it is, the standard "slide lock sreen" is also there!!! How can I remove the slide screen lock so ONLY my pattern unlock screen is activated??
Please advice........
You can't. Sorry (It really annoyed me too)
Have you tried app called Nolock ? it works perfectly - removing the lock screen.. not sure about the patern lock though.

It removes pattern lock too
I guess it's needed to allow the "Lock phone after" x mins of inactivity.
I've however replaced HTC's with the AOSP one, have the sound button to mute the ringer
If you replace the HTC lock screen by another, that means we can disable it I guess...
When I was on CM 6.1, I just got the pattern code directly when I woke up the phone, no lockscreen !
You replace it so you can delete it right ?
I Guess I'm not helping, but i'm on one of the last ROM's (CM7 B2) and I only get the pattern unlock...
I don't understand why you would want no lockscreens at all (if that's what you're after)...
no just the pattern. So you don't have to slide down the lock screen and then make your code. It's an habit and it doesn't bother me much, but it's just a bit more quick without the slide lockscreen.
What ROM are you running now? Or is it the standard version of android?
I'm using BlaY0 B.07, sense based (otherwise there would be an option to remove the lockscreen).
What I don't understand though, is why can I replace my lockscreen, but can't remove it and keep the pattern code.
Or maybe the lockscreen I flashed (cryshop's, for sense only) is including the pattern code...
how to make the unlock screen not vibrate each time? i use android 2.3
but i dont want vibrate when i open my screen and unlock it ..
what i must to do ? how can disable it ?
One of my most hated function on Android. What's worse is that there's not an easy OFF switch anywhere in the settings. The only thing you can do is get a new lock widget or disable the unlock screen.
Hi there,
I have search the forum and the internet and couldn't find an answer or someone with the similar problem. Here is is;
If I set Face Locker to unlock my screen it only work once then revert back to my previous lock setting (I usually use swipe so it revert back to swipe). I do the all shebang to set it and even improve it with a few more pictures but no matter what I do after I use it once (and it works) it revert back to the old Lock Screen scheme.
Anyone has the same problem or it the standard feature???
TIA!
MrDouf
did you change the lock timeout settings? i think the default setting is to relock every 5 minutes and in between then do the normal swipe unlock. change the setting to lock instantly and it should work. at least thats what i remember but i havent used it since ics

BTW, V4.2.1
Hi there again,
Even with the 4.2.2 update, whenever I choose the Face Unlock as the LockScreen it works once then revert to the previous LockScreen that was selected before (swipe in my case).
Anyone is having the same issue?
TIA
