I have a Sansung Galaxy Nexus 4 (Verizon), it tells me the build is JDQ39. I want to set it up to dualboot, before I do I'd like to have the stock ROM on hand. I've downloaded ROMs for the JDQ39 build, but they expect the board to be 'Toro' not 'Tuna'. In looking at the list for factory ROMs it dosen't show a ROM for Tunq. It also appears that Toro, Mako, Magura, are linked to the Tuna board, what's going.
The reason I know my board is 'Tuna" , is the error msg when I try to flash a JDQ39 build ROM. The system - phone info only displays a build number.

Hi Larry. Pls double check which phone you have. Tuna is Samsung. The Nexus 4 is made by LG.

the nexus 4 was never made for verizon, because of their galaxy nexus disrespect. you have a galaxy nexus, which is a dual core samsung made device. the nexus 4 is a quad core lg device.

The phone was sold to me as a "Samsung I515 Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE" are saying it is not a Nexus. Did Samsung have some license agreement to use the Nexus name, or is this some public misconception the Samsung is a Nexus.
There we go, that's the correct name. You have the toro. You should go to the Samsung galaxy nexus. Here's the link for the stock ROMs https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

I downloaded the Mysid image for the JDQ39 build, I'll verify in the morn. I'll have to continue when necessary in the galaxy forum. Thanks for you support.

Occam is the board number/model
Mako is the product model

Does that mean some Mako's are not "Occam" ?

Does no one have the answer to this? People were obsessed over teh 4.2.2 bootloader for the Nexus 4. I guess this is what we get for a low popularity device... no one cares.
No there is no new bootloader, and there wasnt a new bootloader going from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 on the Galaxy Nexus either. There wasnt even a bootloader changing from from 4.1.2 to 4.2, I didnt know any Nexus brand devices had a new one. Shoot, not even my Galaxy Tab 2 had a bootloader update between the versions.
I love AOSP roms like PA and Cyanogenmod . I hate touchwiz So I was very disappointed when I didn't find any roms AOSP for my galaxy s4 I9500 . I've noticed that the i9505 version is already enjoying the vanilla . So why is this ? I though the international version is the most important version just like the galaxy s3 i9300.
Can someone give more detail on this issue?

CM devs said it's a no go for the exynos chip which is in OCTA core i9500. The snapdragon i9505 will have official CM. I'm sure exynos may just as well.
There will be some one able to do in coming days just have to wait
I've saw this article http://androidfannetwork.com/2013/0...laxy-s4-i9500-is-not-getting-custom-rom-love/
According to the article it's very unlikely we gonna see AOSP roms for i9500 because Samsung will never release the octa 5 sources for the developers.
After reading about it I guess I'll sell my s4 i9500 for the i9505 ....

You obviously didn't notice that the article links to files from XDA. This is a ported ROM. The Google Edition is the GT-I9505, not the 9500. Samsung will likely never release properly functioning userspace drivers, etc. for the Exynos, so anything that CM devs do to get things working will be, at best, polishing the turd that Samsung leaves the AOSP community.
Do you guys know of any Kitkat Roms that will work with safestrap? I am on mf3 but using a 4.2.2 Google edition ROM.
My Phones: Samsung Galaxy S4 (MF3 ugh)
iPhone 4 (retired)
HTC Inspire (retired)
My Tablets: Google Nexus 7(2012)
Google Nexus 7(2013) Screen Cracked + broken LCD
Hackintosh with Core i7 3770k and Nvidia GTX 770 running Mavericks, Windows 7, and Ubuntu
There is none. As stated in both the SS development thread and QA Thread, only 4.2.2 ROMs can be used. Please read before posting.

Not sure how many of you use galaxy s4 google play edition.... But I am interested if the kitkat update brings the same phone dialer as that in nexus phone? Also can someone tell what is missing in Kitkat 4.4.2 that's running on S4 vs. nexus 5.
You may get more replies in the international s4 forum. I believe that is where the gpe is officially supported. Running an att version with gpe software... I assume nothing missing if you are willing (i am) you can use the google experience launcher with no issues. Imo the only con to the s4 gpe is its price tag. Other than that its my favorite.
