Not heard of one for xbox but six axis controller worked lovely with sgs 2/3 and ps3 controllers.
I have it installed on here but not tested it yet (titanium and all that ?)

Hey, thanks for your answers. I am still waiting for my OTG cable, so i can't test it. And i read a lot of posts that you need to root to enable wireless controller (like here: se7ensins.com/forums/threads/how-to-use-xbox-controllers-on-your-android-device.882265/). But today i found this: youtube.com/watch?v=wIV0qLJL5QY So i hope it will work on S5 too! Will let you know!

Just received my OTG cable and i can confirm. Wireless XBOX 360 controller WORKS on galaxy s5! Woohoo!

Ok, not everything is good. When i launched GTA SA, the camera was spinning. This is a well known but still not fixed bug... No idea why. I mean all you need to do is just copy and paste a few files. Why android devs don't fix this?
Anyway... On my s5 only Vendor_045e_Product_028e.kl file existed in "/system/usr/keylayout/". All i did was just copied and pasted this file couple of times and then renamed them to "Vendor_045e_Product_0291.kl" and "Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kl". Then just rebooted the device and the controller worked as expected.
P.S You need root for this. You can root your S5 with Towelroot. Just google it.
P.P.S I used "Root Browser" to browse, copy and rename system files.
P.P.P.S If you did what i said and still see spinning cam then you need to dig deeper:
1. Download Android Terminal Emulator
2. Run "su" then "dmesg" commands and then look for a message similar to this: "<6>[ 1489.104652] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=045e, idProduct=0291".
3. Remember or copy idProduct number and place it at the end of your copied file in "/system/usr/keylayout". For example if you find "...idProduct=0458a" then you should rename your copied .kl file to "Vendor_045e_Product_0458a.kl"

sorry if this seems cluttered im at work and typed this out as fast as possible.
hope this helps some of you.
If I am not mistaken, is root required?
That method for pairing with Sixaxis is not required, can all be done on the tablet itself with a USB OTG cable.
Root is required however.

Simultaneously connect to a bluetooth headset?
I got to pair my N7 and PS3 controller thru Sixaxis just fine. But it prevents me to simultaneously connect to a bluetooth headset. So I have to disconnect my bluetooth headset and connect my PS3 controller. Does anyone know which bluetooth headset would work simultaneously with the PS3 controller?
I can not get mine to pair. Keeps saying there is no controller found on the n7. I installed both version as stated on the website.
I changed the address from the n7 and put that on the program. Not really sure what is wrong
Got it working, just had to unplug the ps3 controller then start it up.

Dualshock 3 refuses to work via OTG

Morning.
Last week or so I've been trying to get my PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller working with my Nexus 7 via the Micro USB port, and I'm about to give up completely.
I've googled enough to make my head spin, so this is pretty much my last hope for a solution. I've tried with 4.1.1, 4.1.2 & 4.2.2.
I've mailed the developers of the apps mentioned below, but have yet to recieve any response. This was done more than just 1-2 days ago.
I've tried with & without rooting.
The controller works fine when connecting it to my computer & Transformer Prime. It's been close to fully charged all the time.
The Gameklip cable & the OTG-cable works. I can access HDD's, flashdrives & even the SD-card on my PSP.
While using the OTG-cable, I've tried with different USB - Mini USB cables.
Sixaxis Controller using Bluetooth works fine, not a single problem there. I can also add my Nexus 7's MAC-address to the controller via the app without any trouble.
USB/BT Joystick Center 8 finds the controller, but refuses to accept any input from it. The same developer has released a joystick analyzer, and it recognizes the correct vendor & product ID of the controller.
The keylayout file exists & is correctly mapped in my usr/keylayout directory. I've also tried using the Transformers keylayout on the Nexus 7.
And here's the kicker, the spare Gamestop Xbox 360 controller I've got laying around works without a problem. Which almost led to me frisbeeing this ****ing thing out the window. And even though it works, it's not a viable alternative for me since it doesn't fit in the Gameklip.
At this point I'm up for crazy ideas, so any help, no matter how far out there, is appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read through this, and if you have any ideas that might help, thanks in advance!

Sorry for the thread resurrection here but I have searched high and low on the internet and this is the only thing that I find that comes close to the same exact problem I am having. The only difference is I have a galaxy s3 running cyanogenmod 10.2. Same issue on 10.1. I can get a wired 360 controller to work just fine and even a Wii classic controller with a USB adapter to work. No Dualshock 3 though. You ever able to fix this?

PS3 Controller on Galaxy S5

I have a rooted verizon galaxy S5 (towelroot) and cant get my ps3 controller to work with sixaxis controller app. I dont have the usb wire(USB OTG) that connects from the phone to the controller so i used the sixaxis pair tool that you download from there website. Has anyone tried and succeeded? Thanks.

does it say that the pairing tool should allow you to play with a Wireless PS3 controller if paired?

the compatibility checker says it should work.. i think hes just havin trouble since he cant figure out the pairing tool (is required step) which you plug ps3 to pc run the tool n change the address to the one the sixaccess apk tells you to set it to on phone and then you pair them up wirelessly via bluetooth..

Yes...I'm using the correct wire to pair(change bluetooth address) on my pc to the controller but you can also use your phone to do the same thing by using a special wire(USB OTG) just in case you don't have a pc. There's tutorials on you tube that I followed and they talk about doing both ways just in case you don't have the right stuff. I'm using the pair tool correctly, that's the easy part, it's the sixaxis app that is giving me trouble. I'm just thinking that the touch wiz on the S5's or somewhere along those lines is giving the app problems. It would be cool if someone can try it on there S5 then reply the results. Thanks.
This is the error
No controller found-please connect it via USB cable
I'm having the same problems. Emailed the Dev without reply so far. I read others are having the issue with the S5 as well but that it works on 4.4 on other devices.
Ok cool thanks for the reply. I emailed the dev also with no reply.
I had this same problem and solved it by flashing the XtreStoLite rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732110
Now Sixaxis controller connects to PS3 controllers and recognizes the input.
I had the same issue with my att gs5 active. What I've found to work is reboot the phone. As soon as it boots go into the sixaxis app and hit start and hit the sync button on the controller. If it connects things are looking good but your not done yet. Wait about a minute or two and chances are the controller will disconnect. Then I hit stop and wait for it to finish (while your waiting hit the PS sync button on the controller) then as soon as you can hit start go ahead and hit it within a couple seconds. The controller should sync again and stay synced this time. I've even hit start then hit sync and that worked too. If you disconnect the app or do a step wrong you just have to restart and start over. I've played for an hour or two straight.

WHY DOES THAT WORK?
I allways want to find out why things dont work, but this is just laughable: restart phone, connect, get disconnected, stop server, start server, connect again.
If somebody could explain why that works id be really happy.
Also thank you SO much to give me (and all the others) that solution!

Looks like USB storage is indeed supported [Updated]

Phil Nickinson from AndroidCentral has posted that USB storage doesn't show up properly on the Nexus Player:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+PhilNickinson/posts/MiyoNJmtGK8
Of course, it looks like he tried to directly plug in a USB key into the micro USB slot instead of using an OTG cable, if I'm not mistaken. If anyone who gets their shipment today could verify one way or the other that'd be very useful for those of us who can still cancel our pre-orders if USB storage is a no go.
Update: it is indeed supported but needs root for better visibility across apps.
The ADT-1 has a full USB port and a USB Key is unreadable in that as well. It doesn't mount.

Interesting! I wonder what he's got it formatted as. . . time to start some testing (note: I tested this on the original OOB firmware, but haven't tested it since updating to 13D).
Update: Just used a jump drive and tried Fat32, ExFat, and ext4. . . no dice.
I've just opened a USB stick and installed an APK off it with my Nexus Player. I used OTG Disk Explorer Lite, which I had to sideload. I imagine StickMount will work great once we've got root, and any app could also do the same USB mounting probably.
USB drive was formatted FAT from Windows 7.
Good to hear the OTG cable works. Now I wonder if it'll take a keyboard or ethernet adapter.

I'll be damned. So, I never bothered to root my ADT-1 (silly me). So, I just spend 2 minutes doing that, pushed the USB OTG apk over, and voila. I now have external storage. Holy hell. Let's see if my 1TB HDD works. . .

Keyboard, mouse, and Ethernet all work. Some new gigabit Ethernet adapters won't work though; you have to get one that was supported as of Linux kernel 3.10.

Question for you. Have you tried navigating to the external storage using Root Explorer or anything similar? The only way I can seem to access the content on my drive is through the OTG app, which is kind of a bummer for what I have in mind.

So far I've only got it working through the OTG app. I think if I got StickMount working, that would enable it to work through other apps.
Interestingly, I installed XBMC (Kodi 14 Beta 1) and then used the OTG app to select an MKV file off the USB stick. It then opened it with XBMC and played. But when I tried to navigate storage with XBMC, it couldn't find the USB stick by itself.

Problem solved. So, the rooting and installing an OTG app was only half of it. You also need to disable SELinux. This app did the trick. After installing it, setting permissive, and rebooting, I'm in business.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.selinux
Note: This is on the ADT-1, but I would think the implementation should be nearly identical once the NP gets root.
hi can you please add instructions on how to sideload applications because I'm getting mine shipped next week and would like to sideload xbmc thanks in advance to however helps this site has helped me alot in the past. I don't plan on using my player for games just tv

For me it does

Using the DS4 on the Nvidia Shield [NO ROOT]

Alright I finally found a way to use the dualshock 4 controller with my shield tablet k1 running Android 6.0.
The problem I faced was that when I wanted to pair the controller and tablet it became stuck on the "pairing with..." part.
And since the sixaxis controller app doesn't work on marshmallow I started trying somethings and searched for a solution online.
So maybe there are people that are facing this issue aswell This is how I got it working.
1. First download and install the Sixaxis Pair Tool from the dev's website :
Sixaxis Pair Tool
2. Connect the DS4 controller with a USB cable to the pc and start the Sixaxis Pair Tool you just installed.
3. In the box "Change Master" you want to type the Bluetooth MAC address of your tablet, you can look this up when you go to Settings > About tablet > Status > Bluetooth address
* if you don't see a mac address make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
4. After you filled in the Tablets MAC in the "Change Master" box you hit apply and double check if the new "Current Master" MAC address is the same as the MAC address from the tablet.
Now that the DS4 knows for what MAC address to look for you want to install the following application on the tablet aswell.
* Look for the following app : Bluetooth Auto Connect
The reason we need this app is that for some reason the controllers input starts to lagg after about 30sec after pairing it with the tablet, the only solution I found was using this application.
5. So now that we have the bluetooth application installed aswell we can open the app.
*If the app asks you to turn on Bluetooth just hit OK.
6. Now scroll down to the bottom and tap on "Advanced Options" in here you want to change the following settings:
Rety Count = 1
Rety After(Sec) = 1
Device Timeout(Sec) = 5
Continuous Connect = 2
7. When you changed these settings you can turn on the DS4 controller by pressing on the PS button.
8. Now press on the "Connect Now" button at the bottom of the Advanced Options page.
After 2-3 seconds you will be asked if it is oke to pair the controller with the tablet, select yes and tadaaaaa you have a working DS4 controller on the Nvidia Shield Tablet
So for everything works for me, even the button mapper that can be accessed by holding the Options button on the DS4.
I hope this helps a couple of people !
*If you want to use the DS4 with the PS4 again you need to plug it in the PS4 with the usb cable to pair it again.
Going to try this right now!
EDIT: It works great, able to play donkey kong 64 again hah.
Question
When doing this, if I have a MacBook as my pc but a shield tab, when going to dl the sixaxis pair tool from the dev website do I dl the one for Mac OS X or the one for Windows? Also if you go to the page there's two links for the Windows now which of those two did you use?
Hi great guide
I don't suppose you know if this would work with the Xbox one controller or maybe the Xbox 360 controller ?

Hi !
If you use a MacBook that means you need to download the Mac OS X version they provide, I don't have a Mac so I have no idea how that works. I did a quick google and found this orikad.com/sixpair_instructions.html I suggest you follow that and it should work.

I'm afraid this won't work for the xbox controllers since they don't use bluetooth, however you can get a 360 controller working if you connect a usb adapter for windows with a usb otg cable.
There is at the moment no way to use a Xbox One controller with any device other can Windows 7,8(.1) and 10 since the wireless adapter only supports these versions of windows.
Great guide Dusty!! I am expecting my nvidia k1 next week and i try to collect info about anything!
One question i have...if you have root, the way to pair the tablet and the ds4 is easier??

If you root the tablet you can use this app play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller and connect the DS4 to your tablet with a usb otg cable so you can pair it on your tablet, this is done with 1 press so you don't have to look up the MAC adress etc. However, the app is having problems with newer versions of android 5.1.1+ so I decided to skip the rooting for now and go with this method
Awesome. Thank you.
