Hello
I was just wondering, Is it possible to swap 2 motherboards from two exact S4 ? (both from Verizon) ?
The reason I'm asking this is that I have broken my current Verizon S4 glass ...
BUT I have an my old S4 (also from verizon) that had a motherboard problem (that's why I changed phone in the firs place) and this one is in perfect state (no broken glass etc...)
SO I was wondering maybe I can take out the motherboard of my broken Glass S4 and put it in my old non broken glass S4?
Is this going to work ?
Thanks!!!
Yes it should probably work.

Hello XDA developers
For all who got experience and information about digitizera and screen especially for Galaxy S4
I got a SPRINT Galaxy S4 which unfortunately i cracked its screen and got confused about what is compatible and what is not in terms of cable length or any other compatible parts , fitting correctly etc..
So my question is
Does this phone requires only Sprint Galaxy s4 screen and digitizer or any common galaxy s4 screen can be replaced ?
Any further information can really help.
Please help, googled it but have not got a crystal clear answer, so i refered to XDA forums
( what i mean by screen is: digitizer + outer screen)
Special thanks for all repliers

For me, it would work if you got any US variant version of the part, I have replaced my tmobile variant screen with a at&t part, but if you cant find the US version of the part, try finding the i9505 parts, that model mirrors the US variant of the phone

I have no heard if anyone has tried with different variant parts on a sprint s4, i would recommend asking some local phone shops or doing some research on google for the answer.
I have a Verizon N900V with a cracked and broken digitizer. I've been watching on eBay for a compatible donor phone for parts. I've seen that Verizon and Sprint motherboards are interchangeable but I'm not sure about other models. The other models I've looked at are N900T, N900A and N9006. I know the Digitizer itself is the same for all models but I'm watching for a complete phone with bad ESN or one with just the motherboard and possibly USB board removed. My concern is that the N900V motherboard will not work with these models.

I would be 99.9% sure the only difference between the various models is the motherboard thus...all the motherboards are interchangeable. Obviously...putting a new motherboard makes the total phone now whatever model version the motherboard came from.

Did you have any luck?
Hello all!
So, my S4 has been having some problems lately. I'm pretty sure my motherboard is bad, it's been heating up a lot and randomly telling me I have no SIM card, or that my SD card has been unmounted unexpectedly.
So, I was planning on buying an S4 on eBay or Craigslist that has a broken screen/digitizer, because people sell them cheap and I'll be able to swap the motherboard and SIM/SD card slots from it to my current S4.
My only question - if I buy one with a bad ESN, is that stored on the motherboard? Will it affect my current S4 in any negative ways if I swap the motherboard in?
Thanks!
Are you sure it isn't just a module fault? (The sd and sim tray are in the same cheap module)

I'm not exactly sure, it could be now that you mention it. Where would I buy a new module at?
Oh, I forgot to mention, occasionally the phone also sits at the AT&T logo when booting without continuing, and I have to hold down the power button and restart it to get it to boot.
I think there esn will go with the motherboard, but not 100% sure about that.
I realise this is a hardware question, but someone here might be able to answer or perhaps has the ability to check the Samsung part numbers.
I have an I9502 Duos which was sourced from HK.
The LCD has cracked and getting one from HK is a long and laborious process.
The i9500 shares the Exynos chipset with the i9502 and it occurred to me that it's possible if I hunt down an I9500 the screen from that may work.
I've got data on my I9502 and currently no way to get at it unless I can get the screen working again.
Ideas?

Anyone?
In general, the actual display of the various S4 models is identical. The sticking point is that the midframes on all of them are different. So you should be able to buy a I9505 screen and replace your I9502 screen with it. The I9505 screen however must NOT be bonded to a midframe, and you'll need to peel the broken screen off the I9502 midframe to do the switch. When you remove the broken screen, you need to keep as much of the old adhesive you can, as the replacement screens don't include replacement adhesive to bond the new screen to the midframe. To be on the safe side, you might want to purchase some of that adhesive off Amazon or a similar site.
Hi,
I've got Note 4 Live Demo Unit. I have just upgraded the software, so it displays now, that the version of smartphone is not SM-N910X but SM-N910F. I consider of changing the display and motherboard. And there is the question - what I must look for? Is there specific displays for different types (like N910C, N910V...) or it is univesal?
Will the calling function work after replacing motherboard? Which motherboard is compatible with N910X? Is it N910F? What about IMEI? Or it is much more better to buy another broken phone and replace components from it - there wouldn't be any problem with IMEI?
Thanks very much for your advice.
