Hello
I'm using LMT because I hate navbar that takes up my screen. Stock sony launcher unfortunately leaves a gap if you get rid of navbar. I fixed it. Thanks @dipesh1502 for this tutorial. It really helped me.
Now the launcher uses the entire screen. I also added another row to the desktop.

He mentioned they used LMT, so this can be used like alternative soft key.
That's right. I'm using LMT instead of softkeys and gravitybox to remove the navbar.

I personally prefer mods that are not being hacked by anything in the runtime, but I might try to do that as an xposed module if you could point me to a guide of some kind.

still have a gap issue...
OK.. So I have installed your modified home.apk into my system folder.. I've deleted my original home.apk and home.odex files... The launcher does remove the bottom gap.. but now the gap is at the top...
Very saddened by this.. I wanted a complete gapless xperia home launcher.. Without using anything else like nova or blinkfeed or anything
Any idea as to how I can now remove the top gap??
If needed I'll post a screenshot

i also have various Xposed modules installed, Xperia Xposed, GravityBox, Xperia V Mods, Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons, SEMCPhone Patcher, Screen Off Animation, GServiceFix, HeadsUp Notifications, GEM Xperia Xposed, Cyber-Shot Xposed, BootManager, BlinkChanger, BlackList, AppOps, Advanced Power Menu...
all of which are enabled with various tweaks amongst them enabled also
im running Stock KK 4.4.2, locked bootloader, dual recovery, SuperUserMod, rooted, SuperSU
If you require anymore info, please dont hesitate to PM me or reply here, maybe its something in my modules or something that im over looking
Tnap1979
Well, it has to be something in your modules as they're definitely modding Home.apk which is already modded. You'll have to check one-by-one which one is doing that.
Will update this home apk to the latest .108 firmware really soon.

Thanks, now it worked.
I hate the quick settings in the notification panel of my Galaxy S5.
I'd like to disable it. I've searched for an Xposed module to do the work, but the closes I got was a "Xposed G-Touchwiz" tha helped me to hide the S-finder and Quick Connect buttons.
So I was wondering... Is it possible (or will it work if) to replace the SystemUI.apk with a version from, let say, CM? I'm not sure what else the SystemUI do, but I've crazy seen people replacing it to get the S5 quick settings buttons.
I would appreciate if anyone knows how to get rid of the quick settings in notification shade of the stock Galaxy S5.
Thanks.

It won't work with a cm systemui.apk. will most likely give you a ton of force closes. There are many custom Roms though with it either turned off or the option of turning the bar off. Just pull the systemui.apk from these Roms and replace yours.

I've replaced the SystemUI,apk from the AOKP rom, but I'm missing something.
What I did:
In folder /system/priv-app
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.old
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.odex.old
Copy the new SystemUI.apk to the folder /system/priv-app
Changed permissions of the new file, so it match the permission of the original file (rw-r--r--).
Reboot
It didn't work. One time I got the same notification shade as if I haven't done anything. Other time the notification area was completely gone.
The problem, I think, is that I don't have the SystemUI.odex file, nor could I find it on the AOKP rom.
Can you please enlighten me?

Its an option in my rom. The aim of the rom is to make people realise that they dont HAVE to use xposed. There are still people doing things the old way and modding the base files. The one in the screenshot is part of Kitkat style and you can switch to it or a whole bunch of other styles in one click.
For example you could have S5 style but then turn toggles off....
And then maybe sfinder off....
Or have a carbon look with toggles at the bottom...
If you like to change stuff to suit your taste you should try it!

Hi! You just sold me your fish! (Its a Brazilian expression!)
I installed Alliance ROM and I'm pretty much satisfied. Nice work you've done!
But it would be nice to have those features on a Xposed module too.
One thing that I dind't realize how to do is how to get rid of the second page toggles (the page on notification shade that shows all the toggles). As a suggestion, it would be nice to have a way to hide some of those useless icons/toggles.
Just for future reference (for those who tried), do NOT attempt to use SystemUIs from other devices/roms especially on an odexed rom. Thats recipe for FC's and bootlooops.
Xposed happens to be my only option at the moment.
Goldie, I would love an allianceRom version for sprint! Until then, how did you do it? I tried pulling the systemui.apk but couldn't find an editable xml. Any pointer would be awesome.

I just got information that confirms thing I asked Sony months ago...
"The question was - why don't you add navigation bar settings to your firmwares?
Just the basic ones - size and number of buttons/icons."
I received a answer - we are working on something similar.
(That's not exact words but it was something like that)
Now we have this (in latest firmware)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

}
If we get changeable navigation bar in stock ROMs I won't (maybe) even need to root my device.
We have enough space for apps so I just hide those I don't need or don't want them in app drawer.
Maybe they add options to hide app icons in drawer...
Obviously, they are listening community (I don't think they listened me only of course) and working on great and important things and features in firmwares...
If we find a way to root LBL devices it'll be really interesting to build new themes which could be changed and adapted by end user simply going to settings....
Awesome...
Sorry because I opened new thread but I'm so excited they add this and can't wait to build new theme with few nav bar icons set you'll be able to choose from.

Obviously, you didn't get what I wanna say.
All those option could be, and most likely will be, changed by user.
Just like we could make a theme that will "aks you " which wallpaper would you like yo use (I built many themes that way) we'll be able to choose nav bar, colors and other elements.
We themers could add five different navigation bar icons in theme so end user will pick one of those icon set.
Now you can build theme to ask for a wallpaper
You'll (probably) have similar window to choose navigation bar icons.

This guide will help you activate "Round Icons" on your android device. Take note that round icon isn't provided by launcher but the app itself. Every app that supports round icon will provide two type of icons (normal and rounded), so what will we do is enabling it using the round icons provided by different OEMs by changing the framework-res.apk in our devices.

Requirements:
- OxygenOS Open Beta 3 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1
- Custom ROM based on Android Nougat 7.1.1
- Must be rooted!
- Root Explorer
Navigate to this location: \root\system\framework\
Replace the current framework-res.apk file to the modified framework-res.apk which can be downloaded here.
Note: It is recommended to copy it from recovery, but you can also copy it directy via root explorer but your device will restart instantly
Last is clear the pixel launcher data
App Info -> Storage -> Clear Data
What I only did is I edited the \framework-res\res\values\bools.xml and change the value from
<bool name="config_useRoundIcon">false</bool>
to
<bool name="config_useRoundIcon">true</bool>
This will trigger the launcher to use the round icon of any apps that are supported.

I did this mod some days ago on LineageOS. It applies everywhere except inside the Play Store.
For example, you will see the regular square like icon of Gmail on the app's page, but the circular icon will be displayed everywhere else once it's installed. Recents and all.
After do it.. some app can't open, such as facebook, messeger, telegram,...

Good luck on that! Installing a third-party launcher and app when you can easily enable it in a snap. Provided that you are rooted, of course!

Yes, it is quite an easy mod, I made it for Echoerom.
I edited four .pio files that must be replaced into systemUI.apk, so that they can be easily seen both when the navbar background is black or white (just some gimp and paint).
If any of you can share the systemUI.apk from Ambasadi's rom (the dev wrote that anybody is free to use his work) I'll mod it and eventually open a separate thread, though it's not real modding, just little tricks.
As a rule of thumb, any nougat systemUI.apk should work.
This mod requires you to use a different launcher (I modded a pixel launcher that works fine with navbar Btw).

Sorry, where does it come from and is it from a deodexed rom? I tried it on my nougat rom, after replacing the .pio files, and it FCs.

It is from Ambasadi's rom v11 odex
Sorry, I need a systemui from a deodexed rom to replace the inner resources.
If you use "Custom navigation bar", you can change the layout and button images easily. And if you want to change the background, "Navbar Apps" will change it.
I can't use English well. Sorry for my bad English...
