I'm having trouble finding a mod/rom that is compatible with the verizon samsung galaxy note 3, Anyone know what is?
Really don't understand you ? There several roms with galaxy note 3 ..but the question is are you rooted ..do you have safestrap installed ..which version of android are you on 4.3mje / 4.4.2 NC4 ...are you rooted you would get better results with all of that included in your question ...

Sorry, i'm kind of new. My phone is rooted, i have checked but i don't have safestrap installed. It is 4.4.2.
Well to flash Rom you have to have safestrap implemented so please install safestrap download the apk and run it except supersu and install boot into safestrap first make a backup of your current Rom check the Verizon note 3 android development thread for available roms download the one you want and boot back into safestrap wipe data factory reset / system and flash to the stock slot ...ooh if you towel rooted your Rom there a fix in the beans nc4 thread with instructions on how to proceed with that good luck !!

I've decided to unroot, do i have to do that fix before i install a recovery (Cwm or Twrp)?
From my understanding you have to be rooted to place a recovery on your device (Cwm or Twrp)...

you unroot by flashing the stock Odin file, or using your root method to unroot.
there is no recovery available. safestrap is our wonderfully built recovery alternative due to a locked bootloader on the 900v. do not try and flash cwm or twrp.

on top of stock rom, my stock rom was JeallyBean 4.2.2 i337 mf3 not mdl and i read there are no mf3 files for odin
So i managed to fix this problem just by downloading stock rom for my phone and flashing with safestrap: Galaxy S4 rooted Stock ROM AT&T SGH-i337 MF3 (i found that on google)
The rom i downloader is rooted. and it said to install Loki after finishing flashing rom but i managed not to.
after you finished flashing you need to install also: jflteatt-MF3-modules(attachment) : this will make your wifi to work.
Every thing i just said, worked for me! do this at your own risk! im not responsible for any damages!!!
Wait what if you flash MDL with safestrap, and use goo.im for TWRP? It could possibly brick but just an idea.

It wouldn't. The bootloader is still MF3 no matter what you do to the system, and so it will still be locked with no way to bypass it.
I want to update my i9505 to the latest android 4.3 through Odin but I don't want the new Knox bootloader, could someone please give me any instructions of how I could achieve this? I don't want to install the "custom" stock roms.
*EDIT*: Could someone also give me instructions on how to compile the edited firmware.
I tried to Google it but to no avail.
I shall be grateful to anyone who helps.

In order to remain on your old bootloader you will need to root. Any reason why you don't want to? Root, install a custom recovery then flash the pre rooted rom. They are stock based.

Thank you for your reply, I'm rooted with custom recovery. However I wish to create myself a Odin copy for emergency purposes, I currently have the official MGA firmware update for Odin. I want to create a Odin flash-able firmware update without the new bootloader,
EDIT: After going through the thread all the firmware files include the new know bootloader ;(
As far as I know you can't flash via odin. I suggest you flash the CWM version this has no bootloader. As your already rooted using the knox free cwm version is the safest bet at the moment.

No modem, you can install that separately via Odin as we can't flash modems using CWM. It contains stock rom and stock kernel.

I did the same thing, no recovery whatsoever. Looks like there's no other choice but to reflash the stock firmware again and start all over again. Hopefully get back stock recovery, Cfroot, Philz this time.
I'll report my results.

What is the baseband version and your boot loader is locked, correct?

What you have experienced is due to the restrictions put by the locked bootloader. If you check the baseband version in settings->about phone, it would end with MF3 or MK2 or NB1.
The firmware with these version have locked bootloader which prevents us from flashing any custom kernel or recovery.
The way to flash custom roms is using a different kind of recovery called Safestrap
There are some restrictions with Safestrap though. With MF3, you have to use safestrap v3.65 and you can only flash 4.2.2 based roms. You can also flash Goople play edition 4.2.2 roms. With google play edition, your PC will not recognize the phone though.
With MK2, you have to use safestrap v3.71 and you can flash 4.3 based Roms. You cannot flash google play edition 4.3 based roms though. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221 has lot of useful information for you.
If you are on NB1, you have to follow Deadly Venom Kitkat Magic Tool to downgrade to MK2 first and then install 4.4.2 based Roms.
If you are on MK2, Deadly Venom Kitkat magic tool has a way to install 4.4.2 (Kitkat) roms.
I have a pre_MF3 phone but my gf has this device with NC1 Bl, I was able to use geohot's root method to acquire root access. I have supersu installed but can't update binaries. I tried using goo.im to install a recovery but that seems to have failed (it says it installed successful). Each to I try to reboot recovery it boots into DL mode and will continue doing that until I pull battery and force a it into the "booting a custom software" screen to which then I can push vol down and restart it normal but cannot in anyway get it into recovery mode. I'm assuming this may have to deal with it being a "loki'd" recovery? Does this seem like a plausible issue? If it is what's the chances of say, since we can install I9505 roms that we could install the un- "loki'd" I9505 custom recoveries? Also, this isn't packaged with a recovery so, I'm assuming the best method of installing a recovery may be odin? Any feedback would be nice, Thanks in advance

Bootloader is locked. You can't have recovery besides Safestrap on any version past MDL 4.2.2. You'll have to reflash it with ODIN to fix the recovery issue and use Safestrap to flash ROMs.

Do you understand what I'm talking about ? Geohots newest root method that works on the s5 and everything? If so I guess what you're telling me is this isn't a true root method but merely a way to get a ss installed?

Root is not the same as a bootloader unlock. Older phones only needed root, now that we have complicated locked bootloaders with checks we need more than just root to install a custom recovery and ROMs.

It seems like BajaROM doesn't work (failed for me and apparently others). Was planning on trying JasmineROM next.
None of the current roms worked for me. (Stock TW KK 4.4.2 NC4 OTA) Rooted /w busybox, safestrap, and super su binary installed.

No I was on NC 2. Downloaded and flashed jasmin rom and rebooted into Odin (download mode) and loaded nc4 firmware thru Odin 3.09
I was on NC4, no luck finding anything that is working (including Jasmine). Install seems to go OK, but when I reboot the screen stays off.

You can download & install SuperSU from playstore...
Open SuperSU it will prompt you that the binary needs to be installed, click ok! It will then say failed and give the option to install it via cmw or twrp click ok! The system will now reboot to the stock recovery, exit out and reboot to safestrap. Once in safestrap choose install and go to "/cache/recovery" and select "update.zip" swipe to flash then reboot to system. Open SuperSU and now it should be working.
Lmk if this works for you...

ALL, Please DON NOT try and flash any ROM if you are coming from the Verizon OTA NC4 4.4.2 build (rooted via Towelroot)...until the ROM Developer states in the OP that it is okay to do so.
EDIT: Please refer to this thread if you are on the VZW OTA 4.4.2 or NC4 kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787627

Yes, it will work for stock NC4. However, chainfire just released an update for Super SU via the playstore... try that first! If the binary still fails to install then try my method.

Has any one ran safestrap and check the size of the rom slot? When I do it says 0 mb available. If I am not wrong which I could be that means there is zero space to flash the rom to.

Right now SafeStrap won't let us use slot for ROM, so we can't flash anything to it

Just flash the NC2 kernel in Odin and install a rom. Just tried it out and it works!
