[Q] KK how to open camera from lock screen - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

on stock KK the lock screen no longer has different apps to be opened directly like it did in JB
i have searched the forums and see references to openign the camera directly from the lock screen.
how do i get it back like it used to be?

Mine does on the bottom right corner although I have no security set up

that's amazing. what version are you running. i have tried all the different lockscreens with widgets enabled -- i cannot get any widgets to the lock screen. ive just decided to forgoe on a lockscreen completely in the meantime
your notifications are green and you have the arrow at the bottom.
i cannot get that to appear - is it for lockscreen widgets?

Stock 4.4.2 (182.46.10.xt907) the arrow is Google now and xposed gravity box for the green..

You can't use some lock screen widgets if you have a security lock screen thanks to Samsung being weird and annoying. Plus they removed the quick launch camera lock screen with their silly app matrix.
If you just use the slide to unlock feature then slide your finger from the top down and then left or right and you'll have the option of adding more.
You first have to enable them in the settings. Also you can enable quick camera instead of using the app matrix, you'll find that in the same place.... Main settings---> lockscreen ---> check the multiple widgets box. Tap the next box down to configure the quick launch camera as default instead of the app matrix should you choose.

Question on lock screen

Buddy of mine got the S4, when he swipes down on the lock screen the widgets come down, the little pad lock and circle to actually unlock the phone never move, often it takes multiple attempts to finally unlock the phone. When I had my S4 I remember the lock and circle moving around? Is there some setting he had active or deactivated that is causing that?

I've noticed this too. If you grab the bottom of the widget box around the clock you can resize it. If you drag it all the way up, as tight around the clock as possible, then the unlock screen works as you would expect, but when you have expanded the widget box, you get this issue with the lock you are describing. I hope this helps.
Ps if you swipe on the clock from left or right you will see the border of the widget. It's kinda hard to grab and resize. If you expand it all the way down it shows a button to edit the widget.

[Q] Removing the Carrier Info on Lockscreen

I've got a rooted G2 and I'd like the Dashclock widget to take up the whole screen instead of being truncated so heavily at the top third of the screen. The whole bottom 2/3rds of the screen is devoted to an empty text bos that just says "Verizon Wireless". Is there some way, either rooted or unrooted, to get rid of that so that I can have way more functionality?
Thanks.
+1
+2!
Anyone have any luck with this? This is my last major annoyance with this sexy phone. Having full use of the lockscreen for dashclock.

You can change back to the AOSP Lockscreen and then download an Xposed Module to Maximize Widgets on the lockscreen - will this work for you?

Lock screen icons

Hi
I'm unrooted, on stock 4.4.2 and using Nova Prime.
I'm trying to change my lock screen shortcut icons (remove label, change theme). I'm using Lumos but it doesn't change the shortcuts. I've tried changing the theme of the stock home but that didn't apply to the lock screen either.
The pic shows what I'm currently stuck with.
Am I flogging a dead horse here or is this impossible without rooting?
Cheers

Nova doesn't actually handle the lockscreens, that's still stock G2. You'd have to get a lockscreen replacement app in order to have any control over the lockscreen icon placement and possibly the labels. I used to use one called WidgetLocker; however, lately I have preferred having no shortcuts on my lockscreen so I have been going without.
Cheers, I'll check it out.
