Hi
I'm unrooted, on stock 4.4.2 and using Nova Prime.
I'm trying to change my lock screen shortcut icons (remove label, change theme). I'm using Lumos but it doesn't change the shortcuts. I've tried changing the theme of the stock home but that didn't apply to the lock screen either.
The pic shows what I'm currently stuck with.
Am I flogging a dead horse here or is this impossible without rooting?
Cheers

Nova doesn't actually handle the lockscreens, that's still stock G2. You'd have to get a lockscreen replacement app in order to have any control over the lockscreen icon placement and possibly the labels. I used to use one called WidgetLocker; however, lately I have preferred having no shortcuts on my lockscreen so I have been going without.
Cheers, I'll check it out.

In what way do you want to change the lock screen sliders? Sorry, your question is just kinda open in terms of interpretation. If you could suggest what you would like to do, or what you are looking for, and maybe myself or anyone else that reads this thread can provide you some more help!
Thanks
P.S. not sure if it is what you are looking for at all, but check out the application called widget-locker on the Market. This allows customization with image edits, and allows you to customize your entire lock screen as well.
Sorry about the open ended question, I meant just the sliders without using Widget Locker, so lets say I wanted to make the unlock a pacman and the silent/vibrate a ghost. Is it possible to change the icons without Widget Locker?

Use NinjaMorph to get into your framework-res.apk under system/framework. Then go to res/drawable-hdpi and it should be near the very bottom of the pics under zz_moto_jog_tab... or you could only change the centers of the sliders to pacman and a ghost, that would be ic_jog_dial_...
I was curious if there was anyway to use a lockscreen other than the ones provided with CM7 (which is what I'm currently using). And where would I go about finding them?

There are but first learn to post in the general area if you have a question.
There is widget locker in the market as well as extracting the framework-res.apk and chamging lockscreen images and make a flashable zip.
Signatures are fancy.
Check out the WidgetLocker app. Its really awesome and well worth the price. When you buy it you will then be able to customize it and make the lockscreen change with themes other have made.
Heres a thread with some of the widgetlocker themes people are creating

Ill give it a look. Thanks for the quick reply.

Whenever I used widgetlocker, my cm7 lockscreen and the widgetlocker lockscreen would always interfere with each other...how did you get around that?
works ok for me, running CM7(RC2)
agree with others, Widget Locker is the best... and only $2

Thats why I stopped using it. Would get a hesitation using widget locker as it doesnt actually replace the stock lockscreen. It just seems to overlay it. What it appeared to be to me was that widget locker, being an app, had to load. So if it dropped out of Memory the phone had to reload it and it caused this stutter/hesitation between it and the actual lockscreen. Not that big a deal, but it gave the appearance that the phone was glitchy which I didnt like (i do everything i can to make the phone super smooth, no sense in installing an app that counters that, no matter how slight).
Now I just go with no sliders and use a gesture to unlock the phone and have another gesture to toggle sound. Super clean and confusing to whoever picks up the phone trying to be sneaky.

With default stuff, you can't.
So then which launcher should i use in order to modify only the lockscreen?
Is this possible? Am used to default launcher, i dont mind some change to fix my lockscreen but i'd like to keep the rest of my phone/home/buttons as default as possible.
Thanks again for your help

In cm10.1, for example , you can change the lockscreen options, and get rid of the clock widget.

Sure you can. If you actually mean luck screen and not status bar. Expand to full size, long press that "frame" and drag it to the trash.

I've got a rooted G2 and I'd like the Dashclock widget to take up the whole screen instead of being truncated so heavily at the top third of the screen. The whole bottom 2/3rds of the screen is devoted to an empty text bos that just says "Verizon Wireless". Is there some way, either rooted or unrooted, to get rid of that so that I can have way more functionality?
Thanks.

+2!
Anyone have any luck with this? This is my last major annoyance with this sexy phone. Having full use of the lockscreen for dashclock.

You can change back to the AOSP Lockscreen and then download an Xposed Module to Maximize Widgets on the lockscreen - will this work for you?

Hello everyone. I seem to have a bit of a problem regarding live wallpapers with the new 7.0 Nougat update. I am currently using the Galaxy Pack app from Play Store as my live wallpaper and I was using it on both my home screen and lock screen. Now here's the problem, after the update I tested out some stuff (including changing the wallpapers) and now I cannot put the live wallpaper back on the lock screen. On the home screen it works fine. When I try to select a static picture as my wallpaper, after I select it, it asks me (Do you want this on your home screen, lock screen, or both?), but when I select the Galaxy Pack wallpaper it just sends me on the app's menu where I click set wallpaper and only the home screen one applies. I have tried different launchers including Nova launcher (The one I currently use) and Google Now Launcher, but nothing lets me put the Galaxy Pack LW as a lock screen wallpaper. Please help.
Also on a side note, does anyone know how to set the settings, quick settings tab, etc. on dark(black) theme? I hate all the white of it. Is it possible to do this at all? (without rooting)
Just downloaded planety of live wallpapers. None of them is working on the lockscreen, nothing really can be done here. But changing theme to any other colour is simple, just open the Samsung themes app and set the dark one.

All right. Thank you for responding. I hope they fix the live wallpaper problem soon. And many thanks for the dark theme. Cheers.
