Hello ,i realized this phone has a 24bit sound chip embedded within which to me is amazing being a musician i was wondering if there is any possible way of enabling this phone which is a lg d802 international to be used as a usb audio device on a pc just like those normal plug n play usb audio devices .the phone has amazing power and capabilities all i wish is to plug in my usb lead on a pc an use the phone as a usb audio device hear and play all thru it like a normal usb audio device ..can it be done with a application or hardware modification? i dont mind either way as the main purpose of me having the phone was for 4g capabilities. but since customising it and messing around with it if someone can help me do this i would very much appreciate it and many others like myself im sure would enjoy such a project or method to do so ..im currently using a creative soundblaster 24bit usb audio which only hits 96hhz this phone can handle up to 192!!!
i hope this new thread willl shed some light on the subject

Hey guys, new to the Rooting community, but I would first off like to thank each and every person that has put time into these projects. The possibilities that have been unlocked on different devices has been enormous and its all thanks to the dev community.
I do however have a question, I recently took my NC and installed Ginger Bread and then Ice Cream Sandwich onto it with no troubles. However upon reading everything that has to do with Bluetooth Audio Input and USB Hosting, theres something that doesn't quite add up.
I can successfully connect to my Bluetooth headset with both the built in Bluetooth and a Rocket Fish dongle that I used through USB Hosting. However I get no audio input, I know that this is a known problem and it has to do with a possible lack of audio codecs and some other ideas that I have seen thrown around.
What doesn't add up though, is that when I connect my Logitech USB Microphone using USB Hosting it works perfect and gets picked up by every app. So my question is, what is the difference between the USB built in drivers and the Bluetooth driver that was unlocked?
From my understanding the Audio input file, driver or whatever it may be sits as a separate file. So with that in mind wouldn't that mean that the file exists, because the USB Microphone is using, so why exactly doesnt the Bluetooth connection pick up the Bluetooth ear piece as a microphone and refer it to the same audio input file?
Once again this is basically me spit balling and asking some questions. I was looking through the source code for the Nook Tablet (Trying to find its internal mic driver) and noticed that there was an audio C file and was wondering if that is what is being used by the USB devices to recognize Audio Input.
Anyways, any response would be great, one of the last tweaks that I would love to help get worked out as I planned on making myself a lovely Voice Control app to run on my Nook Color, and a Huge USB headset is rather illogical.

Since you're apparently asking a question about a Nook Tablet, not a Nook Color, you should probably redirect it to that forum.
Audio on Linux and therefore Android is a huge can of worms that even most developers can't figure out. Bluetooth is yet another very difficult library and has its own way of dealing with audio in and out. A2DP media audio out protocol has no audio in capability. As far as I know, no one has ever sorted out or enabled hands-free protocol for the NC, which is what it would take to do a headset with mic.
I have a Musiland Monitor 01 US portable DAC/Amp hooked up to an Outlaw preamp that I connect via USB port to a Windows computer. I use Foobar2000 as my music player. I can't figure out how to do the same with my A500 via the USB port. Kinda limited in Android know-how....I tried using Clear-Fi to perform what Foobar does, it does play it on the A500 but won't output it to my preamp. Any suggestions???

Actually Android wasn't able to output audio through usb until JellyBean.
And I still haven't been able to find any driver (for A500 or for my Galaxy Nexus) that can achieve that even on JB.
Some devices from Samsung (I think GS2 and GS3) have such a driver, but afaik nobody has ported yet.
So basically I just connect the audio minijack out to my analog amp, considering A500 analog output isn't that bad.
A bit of random info
The hardware can do it. As it works on the A500 running Netham45 Linux Kernel dual booted.
I use my Logitech G35 USB headset and the sound is great.
Just no one has written the programs to activate USB sound cards and shut of the internal one in Android.
Looks like the Android community hasn't standardized how they handle sound.
Some Android devices have been got working by developers doing hacks but it seems to be device specific so far.
To top it of it looks like the manufacturers are coming up with Android specific USB sound stuff, so complications will be even worse if they go that route.
Your normal USB sound stuff won't work it has to be Android compatible (read probably not compatible to PC or Apple)
I for one will not be buying any of that crap!
I dislike proprietary anything and avoid it when possible.
It is pretty sad that I can plug this headset into a PC or Apple (Mac or IPad) and A500 running Linux and it works and the same Tablet chokes on Android. Mind you Apple blocks it out on the I touch.
So maybe your USB sound rig will work but it will be complicated. You would have to Install Linux setup on your tablet just to try. Ouch!:crying:
Does anyone know of a kernel allowing users to "hot plug" a USB DAC to get audio out?
Poitee and Trinity seems to support at least USB audio after a reboot, but so far I have had no luck identifying something that will simply allow me to place my Nexus 7 in my dock (with OTG USB DAC connected) and have the audio automatically routed through the external USB DAC.
Therefore, does anyone know of a rom/kernel allowing this (since my Samsung Galaxy S3 can do this)?
No one out there who knows? :crying:
I'll second this. I am installing my Nexus 7 semi-permanent in my Car, and i'd like to take it out and use internal sound without rebooting it every single time.
// Per.
Yeah, I was keen on making a car install too, but this is for a dock I am building.
I can tell you it involves B&O design and pure awesomeness, guess I cannot post images or give links until I reach 10 posts though.
Hotplug USB audio is indeed possible on the Nexus 7, it seems that a few of us all have similar plans for our Nexus's
Give this a try -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029728
If you have any issues try and reply in that thread so we keep them all in the same place.
Hi, I can't see any way to plug an external condensor mic into my new nexus 4, pretty bummed if that is the case.
I would like to use my phone as a portable recorder that can record sounds in at least cd quality and use some sort of mic I will have to buy.
Much like everyone is doing with their iphones and garageband, maybe the nexus isn't able to do it, there is no hardware problem, my 1st ibook with a 512 mb memory could do this without a single issue, I imagine this device can do it but maybe it isn't made with any thought of getting external audio into it ?
Makes me thing I need an iphone after all.

USB OTG (On the go) is not supported in this phone by stock. None of the developers have been able to figure it out as of now but it may be possible. Another limitation is the voltage the USB hardware is able to provide which we do not know for sure yet. If it is lower than usb spec (and hence USB OTG is not supported stock) then you won't be able to power your mic with the phone.
TL;DR No this phone won't accept your usb microphone, maybe in the future with further research by devs.

That really sucks, lol.. and it did say this phone has "OTG" usb on the google page for the specs for the phone, no ?
Now i see why i need an iphone, i can't even find a note taking program i can manually sync between mac and android (like I did with my blackberry for 10 years) without using cloud storage and stuff, I don't want my stuff on a cloud.
Yes the original marketing material referred to the device having USB OTG. It was removed sometime near release and the rumor we have is that the device can't provide the full 5V required by USB specifications.
As far as no cloud solutions, I'm not really sure what your apprehensions are. Apple is going to sync your notes the same way Google/Evernote would. The days of using a cable to sync your device have passed.
he's trolling...he knows this phone doesnt have OTG

Hi, This is actually incredible. Before upgrading to Lollipop on Galaxy S5 I was able to plug my DAC (a Dragonfly 1.2) via USB OTG cable into my Galaxy S5 and enjoy pristine usb audio without a single hint of a problem - all apps working - MX Player, Inbuilt Music App, Poweramp etc - all working perfectly.
Then I upgrade to Lollipop, which is supposed to be great for USB Audio, and it doesn't work any more. At all. I am now back to using an app called USB Audio Player Pro, which allows you to use DAC audio devices to connect to headphones and (thank god!) this still works awesomely, but I was really enjoying all my apps making use of my USB audio device and now that has just been screwed over by the update.
There was so much pleasure in just plugging in a usb audio device into the phone via an OTG cable and everything working great, but now I just fall on my knees and shake my fists in the air bellowing "WWWHHHHYYYYYYY??!!!!"
Has this affected anyone else ? I've restarted, factory reset since the update and googled the crap outta this and all I can find are people saying "Yay! USB Audio functionality has been added with Lollipop".
From my perspective, this appears to be balls.
I'll happily downgrade back to the older android OS if its possible just to get this one happy function back.
