[Q] All but one encryption option are disabled/turned off. - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running Omega ROM v16, and in Settings, Security, Encrypt Device, all but the Password option is grayed out and disabled. It says: Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credentials storage. Under device administrators, there are 3 apps, but none of them are checked. Clear Credentials is grayed out too (I think because I don't have any non-system certificates). I don't have any VPN set up.
Any ideas?
Possible theories:
Hola - which uses VPN to work because Root mode doesn't work for some reason
SEAndroid is permissive, due to ROM settings
Help, please?

Remove or edit exchange account on Fresh 1.1 ROM?

I am trying to change my exchange server in my data sync settings on my htc hero. However I can't seem to edit anything except my password. All the settings are grayed out. Can anybody help me?
After you enter your password, choose "manual settings" and this should give you your greyed out options

[Q] APP's administrator rights block lock screen options after uninstall

Hi,
I've been using this app for a couple of days (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=joel.sternet.se.full2) but decided I wanted to uninstall it again.
Now I followed the instructions by the author, so that the device administrator rights would be removed and I could remove the app.
However the 3 top options for the type of lock screen (the 3 that don't require a password) are still greyed out, and right below it says that these options are disabled by a device administrator.
I've checked the device administrator menu under security, and I only have ADM and Cerberus active, and those two were active before I tried the new app.
Help, what can I do to remove this? Is a factory reset the only solution?
Kind regards
had this problem, finded solution another place so i just write here:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Security which under "General" tab
3. Under Credential Storage -> Clear Credentials

[Q] Removing password for credential storage

Hi, I want to install a certain certificate, however I keep getting asked to enter password for credential storage (same issue when I go to VPN settings). Obviously, I tried all the possible passwords and pins I know, but no luck so far. I also tried some stuff suggested on this forum such as changing lock-screen security and wiping credential storage (it's grayed out for me), all to no avail.
Is there a way for me to remove this PW without doing something as radical as factory reset? I'm running original GT-I9505 S4 Android 4.4.2 Kit-kat.
One week has passed, still having the same problem. Anyone?

Is Encryption Broken on Android 6.0?

I received my Nexus 6P today, which is running Android 6.0.
By default, the device is encrypted. But it seems most apps that I try to run that require encryption don't realize that my device is encrypted and I'm getting errors and loops: Gmail, Sunrise, Mailwise, Outlook.
Is there something I can do to get these apps to work?
I don't seem to be able to disable and re enable encryption.
Is this happening to anybody else?
6P has hardware encryption. You need to encrypt it through software also.

Thank you. That seems to fix it. For those people googling this you get there from Settings > Security > PIN Lock > Secure Start-up
Not a very intuitive fix and should probably be bundled with the encryption settings.
I skipped through the startup to unlock and root the phone immediately when I got it and I didn't get the option for secure startup afterwords, took me forever to find that setting.

SM T280 administration question

Some of the items in settings are greyed out, turned off by administration encryption policy or credential storage. How can I get administration privileges? I just installed the stock ROM to remove "root".
