Updated Qualcomm Binaries.. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone try this yet? It seemed to make a difference in the M8 when I had it, after replacing the files manually. Not sure if it will work on the Snapdragon 800 tho.

I'm using nexus version...only dalvik though as cm already has its own bionic optimization... I have the original version as well as the final version for cm 11 branch...they work just fine on g2 with cm 11...haven't tried anything else as I just got my g2 last week...I can post dropbox links if you want the dalvik files

Replace them manually through a root browser and change to the correct permissions. When I had the M8, I flashed through recovery and the device seemed laggy. It was better when I replaced them manually. Also, in that thread, I think someone mentioned that flashing through recovery may cause the old ones to stick - or something along those lines.

dalvik optimisation only improves functions on Java/dalvik code...dalvik libraries incompatibility often causes non booting/bootloops
bionic is more of a total core optimisation and optimises all c/c++ or native ect code too.. bionic libraries rarely, if ever?, give incompatibility problems resulting in non booting/bootloops

Granted, I did use Safestrap. But the M hasn't ever had working HW-accelerated 4.2 due to framebuffer issues with the QHD panel. Those issues will hopefully be resolved with Pinter, Hash, and dhacker's work on a custom kernel.

Currently running CM10 with unlocked bootloader on TWRP. Booted in to recovery, wiped dalvik and cache, flashed your AOKP build along with the 4.2.2 gapps, wiped dalvik and cache again and rebooted. Upon reboot my screen went white (somewhat pixelated) went to boot screen and hung there. Then when I tried to restore a backup of my CM10 it would bootloop as well. Had to reflash CM10 and 4.0.x gapps then restore in order to get back to my CM10 build.

You need to make sure you follow the instructions exactly as they are in the thread as well as install the proper drivers.

[REQUEST] Eclipse ROM Port

Got my Galaxy Gear Watch today and couldn't get it working on my AOSP ROM so I moved over to a TW ROM. However, I hate the TW look. It's too big and clunky so I went looking for some TW ROMs and found this one:
http://www.elementalxdesigns.com/ec...-0-(08-27-13)-Touchwiz-stability-AOSP-Styling!!
I would love to see this ROM ported to the Sprint S4!
What do you guys think?
Of course it would just be a lot easier to just get Galaxy Gear working with AOSP, but TW generally is more stable with better battery life.

As long as it's TW ROM. I've never tried AOSP.
BTW the way to install is to wipe data and caches the install ROM. Then wipe data once again then absprint kernel.

Not much to say at this point. Its bootable with a little updater.script editing and flashing the ktkernel with aroma and instantly rebooting recovery and flashing an older 4.3 ktkernel. No data as of yet. I guess if I can get a stable data through either network or WiFi I'll make a download for ya. Or just some good links and a tut.

None.. sorry. Very busy atm and have no time..

No Pure Google?

Sorry for the silly question but I've been curious. Any particular reason that we haven't seen any AOSP/AOKP ROMs for our device yet? Is it lack of development or is there something a bit more technical that is preventing that from happening? I usually love to tinker and they offer quite a bit more options. Again, just curious....

ART and Dalvik runtime

I see that cm 11 has to option to change from Dalvik to ART.
Any precautions or special instructions one should take before switching?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
Basically I wouldn't do it unless you full data wipe, in fact I'd wipe everything, install cm, boot, flip the switch, wipe system and caches, flash ROM, flash gapps and cross my fingers. Seems to break every app (wiping caches no help) and essentially force me into a full data wipe / restore to get a phone back if I try without a wipe.
Hint: always nandroid, Hint: there is a Nexus 5 art to dalvik flashable zip which I knows works too. (Google the same), Hint: its been awhile since I used ART.

Well if you have newly installed the CM rom, switch to ART right after you set up the ROM initially that way the system will have less apps to convert to ART runtime but one can do it even after installing all the apps on their phone would just take longer that's all. Just be sure not to install any non ART runtime supported app cause if you do and when you reboot it will switch back to DALVIK. that's the only precaution you need to take
only one drawback i see in A.R.T. is, its not compatible with Xposed framework
ART made my old nexus 7 feel like a new device. Apps open up faster. Scrolling is overall smoother everywhere and stuttering is greatly reduced.
Haven't had any issues with it whatsoever.
And yes I did use the option in the developer settings to switch.
