Plz, enter on Google Play and read the full app description and you 'll have the answer to make it work. It's not a Google Play Services issue, is that you have to activate Live Streaming on your Youtube account. Hope this could help.

A sneak peek at the next version of Android Market and Music app
Posted Apr 5th 2011 6:00AM by Sebastian Anthony
In what is probably a bit of a big-G whoopsie, the folks at Tech From 10 woke up to find a new, test version of Android Market installed on their Galaxy S.
Visually, the new version is almost identical. The carousel of featured apps has been updated slightly, and apps now have a 'Content rating,' but that's it (image after the break). The interesting bit, however, is the inclusion of alpha and beta apps -- most notably, there's a new version of the Music app, which looks like a scaled-down version of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb Music app (see right).
Also available from the test Android Market is 'Google Gallery 3D New 10.2', 'Google - Camera v12' and 'Google Desk Clock 10' -- but, curiously, all of the apps refused to launch on Tech From 10's Galaxy S (Vibrant) smartphone. Are they Honeycomb apps? Or, more likely, are they destined for the next Android smartphone OS, Ice Cream?
If you want to try out the new Honeycombish Music app, Tech From 10 has made the APK available for download. You can also download the three Google apps, if you want to have a poke around.
Link here: http://i.downloadsquad.switched.com...next-version-of-android-market-and-music-app/
The link seems to be down, but I posted the music app.
Maybe the devs can tweak and add these in...

It is setup for google music cloud, so that you can stream. the cloud is not setup as of yet.
Are you able to upload music to the Google cloud and stream it? If so, can you tell if it uses up your gmail/picasa available space? I paid for extra storage for picasa and I assume the music service would share from the same space.
Thanks.

If it's a Google cloud music service, it would need access to your account for syncing, etc.
If its for the gallery it has to do with permissions dealing with your Picasa albums.

I wonder what is different in the camera. Anyone get it to work? i am at work now, so can't try...
I have only installed the music app. Since then I have had some weird things happen on my phone. The YouTube login started to fail several times even though I didn't open YouTube. The phone locked up and needed a battery pull. 2 pictures I took never saved. Up until now i haven't had a single issue with this phone and that is the only thing I have installed recently. Might just be a strange coincidence...

Anyone get the Clock app working? looks like it might be like the Honeycomb clock from the way the Icon looks after its installed. It just fc's on me each time i try to run it.
Music works fine though
I remember that with enabling live wallpapers on 2.0.1, someone changed the sdk number to the one of 2.0.1. Anyone care to try?

It's probably a wakelock. Use BetterBatteryStats to check what cause it.
Maps is continuously using 10% battery power on my s4 and I haven't even started maps yet, Google now probably uses it but don't know how to turn it off
edit: as I'm looking at the screen shot that I just uploaded I notice that the information about the battery life is incorrect i usualy last a day on a charge like this.

I think it might be the google play. Since the new version 4.0.25 I've seen drain like this when I left the app open in the memory. Maybe this is the problem.
Click the blue google icon
open it
click settings
and you can switch Google Now off from within there
Interestingly enough, I've heard a lot of iPhone users complaining about battery drainage with the Google Now as well!
There are a few gremlins at the moment, I've had a 32 minute audio wake lock despite the phone being silent on my desk and my cpu got stuck at 1350mhz for over an hour.
Both problems solved by clearing the apps via the task manager so maybe it's an app doing similar.

Quite simply maps is running or you have Google now tracking you. Probably have locating settings to use your phone and Wi-Fi to determine where you are. Turn them off
Sent from the mind of Galactus
I had google services kill my battery. It only happened once but on that day it took 63% of my battery
if maps keeps draining you battery try this:
maps->settings->locations settings-> and take off "report from this device"
i had this problem on GS3
Got the problem now too, all sync and location based stuff are off and it still happens. Android really sucks when these things happen.. will report back If I solve it.
I had the same problem but now i don't get the battery drain anymore. I deactivated google now by holding the "settings" button(the left softkey). There you can deactivate google now
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
I updated Google Services to the latest update through the play store and the drain has stopped.
Google Now/Maps causes huge wakelocks, as every so often it checks where you are to give you location based information, or record your location history.
If you don't need this information, turn all the options off in Map settings like someone above suggeste.

Find the folders involved, and put a file named ".nomedia" in them. Then download "Rescan Media" (or other app) from the play store, or clear data for the gallery and let it rescan.
Should clean it up.

They seem to be connected to one of your accounts. I'm not sure why they did this but lets say if you sign in to facebook, or dropbox, all your pictures from those accounts will show up in your gallery. Its stupid and it does make the phone lag when opening the gallery app

I don't know how it happened but I just deleted 1406 folders and gallery was still slow so I also went into app management and cleared cache and 69 gb of data which is weird because I only have a 16 internal 32gb mem card, but that seems to have done the trick

Hello guys. I am having a problem with Google now in my nexus 4. I had a galaxy nexus where I could say to Google now play/listen to queen and it will appear the option to play songs on my phone from queen. And if I don't have any it just opens the YouTube app to play the songs. So I tried it now but it just appear a Google search. All other actions work fine like directions, set alarms, ask about stuff, but for songs is not working anymore. I have all three apps updated to the last version. So anyone is having the same problem?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. And entered again and made all that initial setup. And tried to play a song but nothing happened, just a Google search. Is it working to you? I saw some people with this problem.

Try doing "Play [Song Here]".
It works fine here.
You have to type the name of the song not the artist and then it will appear in the search area in the other half of the screen or after searching.

It was working fine for me too a while ago and then suddenly stopped working after one of last updates. Maybe it's only working for US residents?
Not really one to talk to my phone, but just tested and it works here -- US.
Don't get the option for youtube but I do get play music, play store, and pandora.
Hmm, mine stopped working too. I don't use this often but I remember when Google Now first got released it was working for me.
You're using an older command. If you say "listen to" then the song, it may start working.
I had the same issue and switching commands seems to have worked.

You need to be in the right country
My work's wifi IP looks like it comes from the US. "Listen to x" works there, but not at home. I think that may be the issue.
Edit: I just tried it with my VPN service, and it started working again. It really looks like it filters by IP.
It took me a while to figure out what was going on. But, this solution worked for me. Check it out at http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1rislc/how_do_i_make_google_now_play_music_on_nexus_5/
Google should make it more noticeable about what we needed to do to set Play Music as the default action for this.
What's up all! I've tried to find answers on the internet, to no avail , so I just want to know if anyone else have the option to view 60fps video on the youtube app on their galaxy edge plus. My previous galaxy S6 Edge, did it with no problem, can't figure it out. Just want to know if I am alone in this dilemma. Thanks!
You sure you are watching 60fps content? Maybe check google play for youtube update. That shouldn't be a problem for this phone for sure.

dammit! That means I might have a defective software somehow or the phone itself. Well, time to hard reset and start over.:crying:

Are you on data or WiFi. There is a setting in the YouTube app to allow hd on data

Very odd then mate. I can play them on both no problem. Keep trying and asking. Have you tried tubemate?

Good idea! I'll try tube mate, I can view 60fps videos if I download them, but not stream them from youtube. I'm also have the T-Mobile variant.

I think you'll find tubemate will do the trick until you can sort it out

This has been a common issue throughout history with new phone releases, and the problem is that Google hasn't updated YouTube server side to enable the option for 60FPS for Note 5 and S6e+ models.
The solution is EASY, but it NEEDS ROOT:
Simply edit your model ID in build.prop from SM-G928x to SM-G925F or 920F etc. Reboot and you're good to go D
Unfortunately, the build.prop edit is the only way to fix this... No non-root way. Be sure to always MAKE A BUILD.PROP.BAK though!!
Thanks for the information! I kinda new about that way, but I'm not rooted, "using Samsung pay and Android pay". First time in a while I didn't feel the need for root.

Sucks I'm seeing this problem as well. Not planning on root. Hopefully they sort it out soon.
I just played a video and it looked super smooth for me so I checked and it was 60 fps! Youtube finally works nice!
Yeeeeessss! Finally! Thanks for the heads up!
