It's unfortunately not possible because of the difference in the kernel.

can i go back to 4.2.2 from 4.3?

hey guys... im on 4.3 MK2 rooted, can i install a 4.2.2 rom stock or custom ?? with 4.2.2 modem and bootloader.
thanks.
If you updated by keeping the MF9 bootloader you can go back to stock. If you took the OTA however, you can only downgrade to 4.2 with a custom ROM.

but i can downgrade to 4.2 (100% 4.2) using a custom rom?? or i will be on 4.2 but with the same new bootloader?
what custom rom would work in my case? if you can give me a link to one.. there are so many here.
If you're on the MJA or MK2 bootloader, you're stuck with it.
And why would you want to go back to 4.2? Any ROM would work, but seems kind of pointless.

i downgraded the modem to mdc and did the unlock process. it worked, i can make and receive calls but when the phone is going to 3g i get a error message "LTE esm 29 emm-x cannot establish wireless data connection" nobody else had that issue.. i dont know if hte fact that my phone is not activated on spring is relevant.. it shouldn't be, because im using the phone outside the US.
i dont know what to do to make this thing work.. i have flashed from mdc to mk2 or mja like 5 times and i always get the same message.

Are you rooted?
If so, what rom are you running?
This is the exact issue the UnKnownforce is trying to fix in his thread.
Go HERE and search the thread for lockscreen. You'll find many posts concerning this issue. There is no 100% fix yet. Works fine for some and not for others.

That's what I'm guessing he did. Someone said that if you flash with cwm not Philz or Twrp that it works.

Well that makes absolutely no sense. You took the OTA then rooted and flashed the NAE modem??? If you took the OTA why would you have to flash the NAE modem. Something is fishy here. Are you on the NAE upgrade or are you a piece meal install with mismatched bootloader, modem, and software. If you are on stock NAE then the lock screen should work as mine works with all options. If you are on a custom rom, that is where the problem is. Post a screenshot of your about phone info page or list the specifics of what you have so we can further help you.
Yea i took the Ota everything was nae but my baseband then I flashed the nea modem is

You might be screwed until the stock tar comes out. If your baseband hadn't changed with the ota, then the update didn't complete. You may still be on the mk2 bootloader. There is suppose to be an app that can tell you what bootloader your on, but I don't know what it is called. You can try to Odin the mk2 tar file. If it completes your golden and then can redo the update. If it fails then you have the NAE bootloader. you can try installing a custom kernel to get wifi back, or see if you can find a copy of the stock NAE kernel.

[Q] how to remove root files after nb1 update

I was rooted on 4.3 and then I unrooted abd did it a update to nb1. Now when I try to use ISIS it says phone has been rooted. I know there is a work around but you have to be rooted for it. Is there a way I can remove whatever file ISIS is seeing that is making it think three phone is rooted when it's not.
Are you sure you're on NB1?If you're not, you will have to get pure stock 4.3 and flash via Odin

Yea I am on NB1, I was thinking of going back to MK2 doing a full unroot with removal of the backed up superuser. Then upgrading back to NB1. I will try it tonight to see if that will work.
You won't be able to downgrade to MK2

how do i return to out of the box stock?
so i can have a clean slate to work on.
You search for how to Odin a stock image on your device. Hint: the general section has many posts on this.

Yes, but as an fyi, there is no direct root method for nb1. So if you're looking for root you might want to consider mk2

Then you're going to want this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49687770
Use saferoot to root. You can Google it
Edit, look in the general forum and read up on mk2 and nb1. You can get a rooted nb1 rom on your phone with safestrap. But do some homework before you decide doing it.
