G900S/K/L (Korea Model) Custom Rom - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just flashed some of custom roms..
If I modify boot.img/csc files, it works in Korea Model, too.
However, like CM based rom, we can't flash it because cm has their own kernel.
Are there no plans of supporting Korea Model?

Hi H,
Can you let me know what exact changes you are doing to get other roms working on the g900s? Also aren't the other roms messing with your partition (assuming u have the 32gb model)?
Buying this shortly so the knowledge wld help as I love flashing custom stuff.

If I change boot partition and some csc files, most of custom roms will work fine. I am now making Rom Enabler for KOR models.
However, CM Rom has their own kernel, unless someone ports, it is impossible to use.

I am an average user who likes to have the best custom bits for his rom. Can you let me know if it would be easy for you to share the details on how to do it?
Or should I wait for your enabler? Will it be windows executable? Any possible estimate on release time lines?
The enabler would be an awesome idea for unifying development.

Hmm... Can I know your device's name? For example, klteskt or G900S.
The Enabler is very simple. You can flash the file with Recovery. I'll make a file only for G900 Korea Model. I may upload in Android Development on this Friday. Thanks.

It's G900S the 32gb one. If this is a flashable zip then do we flash the enabler before flashing an non G900S rom? I thought the enabler would work on the non G900S rom before flashing it, hence asked if it was windows executable or not.

I have the G900S and unable to flash a recovery. It keeps looping to download mode after flash. Can someone plz help me out here?

[Q] How do I know what custom roms are compatible with my phone.

how do i know which custom roms are compatible with my phone i have the samsung galaxy note 3 and i want to know if i download a zip file for a custom rom does the baseband version have to be the same as mine. Or does it only have to have the same Android version. I would be grateful if anyone can help me. Thanks.

Can't tell you exactly but it depends on custom rom.
The safe approach is getting to know the correct info about your device (using 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app), and then search for a right rom or you can ask in the developer's thread if it is compatible for your device.

Easy.
1) Where did you download your rom?
2) At what thread?
3) Does it mention for your phone model ex N9005 or others?
4) At the thread you downloaded the rom again, there are search button and use it to find either it can be use on your phone or not.

No. You are wrong.
Whilst you may be able to flash certain things, doesn't mean that it will be without errors, warnings in logs. Mismatch errors/warnings in logs due to mismatch bootloader, modem, kernel images etc. they can also lead to panic. Missing permissions and file/entries from kernel ramdisk == UN-optimised device.
There are many differences in kernel source, so using a different a N920C kernel will have issues with missing and wrong drivers compiled.
For N920 Korean variant user, I advise not to flash what's not designed for your variant. I can't stop you, but if you flash my SkyHigh kernel, please do not post in my thread. I DO NOT SUPPORT (or intend) KOREAN VARIANT. You will be on your own. Thanks.
Hello everyone. I baught note 7 in my country exynos Model completely safe in my opinion and Samsung made me returned for total unsuport of device. So I bought note 5 with are very rarely also in my country. N 920S Korean variant. Coming from note 7 was decently a big downgrade a ll aspect but in the end with root grenify a custom Rom port note 7 thing begin to work well. I use minotaurus v5 port n7. Work very well all note 7 feature except hardware iris, panorama in camera and aod. Battery was awefoll at beginning but after root grenify and a few tricks I was able to have 3 or 4 hours sot. I rea my can't find a stock kernel for 6.0.1. I hear that is best to use a stock kernel in the Rom that I have by can't find it. Please share any link for stock or custom kernel 6.0.1. That works or you try for 920s model. Thanks in advance.

Hello. I am new here and sorry if broke any rules.
I have note 5 n920L. Bought it used. Received update 7.0. After it, it worked for 2 days and than started working slowly. Restarted and after restart I saw blue screen - "installing system updates". The same screen was for 10 hours. It could not load into recovery mode for wiping. It could not install firmware from download mode. Cannot add here photos because do not have 10 posts.
When trying installing firmware, odin stops on system.img.
When trying recovery mode, it does not enters there.
I see recovery mode after hours trying installing system updates. When I click on wipe data or cache, I have errors:
supported api: 3
dm-verify verification failed
e: failed to mount cache (invalid argument)
e: cannot mount cache recovery last install and many other similar errors
FRP IS LOCKED. STATUS IS CUSTOM (do not know how and why, if it was custom could not receive update..)

Snapdragons ROM

Can I install any Snapdragon ROM on my G935T?
I don't think that will work for us on Tmobile because of the boot loader not being released issue.
It has been screamed that the S7 Edge will not be able to use any kernels or TWRP because of the Bootloaders not being released by T-mobile like that with AT&T or Verizon.
You may flash a rom, but there may be lag issues because the rom will not function correctly as intended with it's accompanying released kernel.
You may not be able to tweak the prop build either.
If I am incorrect, please chime in anyone . . .
Good Question because I am too waiting for an update & a tweaked rom to flash.

Yes - on a rooted 935T you can install an Echoe MM ROM below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...g930-echoerom-multicarrierusa-t3458535/page44
That is basically it.

That is the only one for S7E. There is also an earlier mod that was applied to the rooted stock MM ROM.
What I am curious about is whether we could get an exynos MM ROM to run on it after it is rooted. It would have to be based on a signed Samsung TW based ROM.
The bootloader and modem would stay as is on TMobile, so the question is would it run with its exynos kernel, and if not, would it work with the eng snapdragon kernel ODIN'd if it will not boot up?
I have used international ROMs for years on my S4, but it was rooted the traditional way and the bootloader was never locked.

SM-N910W8 to SM-N910F possible ?

Hello
My Galaxy Note 4 is SM-N910W8 (canadian)
I heard that N910w8 and N910F have same hardware, thats why N910w8 can be flashed to N910F right ?
Will be there any problems ?
What do you think guys?
Why I want to flash it to N910F ?
because the N910w8 have only a few system languages, what I need is a russian langue and I know the N910F has it

You can only flash custom rom from n910f with datafix and custom kernel supported for your model in order to do this you have to root your device and it will trigger knox 0×1.
If you flash through odin n910f firmware it will fail because models are different.
Maybe there is a way to only add a Russian language pack for the system ?
The version I have is 6.0.1

No you cannot add languages that easy there is lot of work to do.
If you have rooted phone with xposed framework installed you can Try "language enabler" module from xposed downloads maybe it will work.
Or you can try any N910F rom with datafix and kernel for your model it will work very well with all languages supported.
I am running dr.ketan m6 s7edge rom on N910T T- mobile note 4 with datafix and kernel and it has all the languages.
Yes , the device is rooted and I tried the app Language Enabler, and it didn't worked, it seems like I just don't have the languages pre installed.
If the only way is to flash for a n910F + datafix
Can you please give me an advice which ROM to download? There are a lot, Dr ketans seems to be nice.
But I'm.not sure which one is good for me.
I use a lot the S Pen , and the applications for the S Pen are very useful for me.
Thanks

Dr ketan m6 s7 port and m12 note 7 port are best it depends which 1 you like note 7 or s7 look they both support s.pen and all languages but fingerprint reader on lockscreen will not work.
In download section you will find a datafix file for all models.
Thank you very much, you helped me a lot ! Have a good day!

Unable to load Custom rom due to hltecan

Very frustrated!
I currently have a SM-N900w8 note 3 (canada) on android 5.0 that I am trying to install CM14 on.
I have TWRP 3.1.0-0 installed.
Whenever i try to flash the rom I get an error saying "this package is for hltexx...; this device is hltecan"
then gives me error: 7
What am I missing here?? There doesnt seem to be any CM or lineage file for hltecan.
Anyone else have same problems and has resolved?
Thanks

Many devs uses "assert" function in updater-script file located in "/META-INF/com/google/android" in rom zip.
You can unpack the zip, edit this file to remove the whole function or to add your device model then repack and flash.
Yeah, he's going to do exactly that.
Logic says you start by reading the custom roms instructions .
If your model is supported only then can you flash that rom .

Thanks for the insight. We cannot all be blessed by this higher level of logic you possess.
All the roms I've checked dont seem to have hltecan model explicitly stated as compatible.
I can't imagine my canadian version is so rare that there is no support. I would think there would be a method to flash the hlte version and then update my modem?
