[Q] [Urgent Help Needed] [How?] How to update to 2.3.6 DDKL1?

I need to update my Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 to 2.3.6 DDKL1.
I once tried to update, but I did something wrong and the phone didn't want to start. I gave it to my technician and he told me that I removed the reboot system or something and he got me 2.3.6 XXKL8. So, this is the question, Is there a SAFE way for me, not to loose my data, messages and other items and updating to 2.3.6 DDKL1?
And I got another question. I installed a Font with Font Installer and only the keypad changed the font. The other text didn't change. Any Help?

Hey, I think there's an official update for it so no need to take tension just go to settings > about phone > and software update ,,, either this or u can do it via ur pc just connect ur phone to pc(via usb data cable) and run kies just search for an available update ( else the kies will automatically tell u about an update) and just update ur phone officially no need to actually mess with odin............... but if u wan't to explore new things then try the odin method it's fun for the first time........ good luck:good:

Well, I am trying to update to that because I have the SD Card has Unexpectedly been removed problem and people are saying that if I update to the version I told you, the problem would been resolved. If you have another solution for this problem, please tell me. The technician i have isn't that nice, he just wants money, so thats why he did that version, he found that first and did it. Can I have the official version back? I am from Malta.

And download the European version.. xxle3 xxlg3 xxlf3 one.. it doesn't have any problem as you mentioned..
Ans you are not able to update through kies.. because you are not having your region firmware currently.. if you have any friend who as same duos phone.. you can check in his phone for firmware for confirmation.. just make cwm backup before flashing through Odin..
After flashing.. go to cwm.. backup and restore option .. advanced restore option... restore data only.. reboot.. if you get force close for any apps.. clear data/cache of that app in manage application setting menu..

I gave it to my service centre, they have fixed it and they said that the problem for the white screen was that I had water in the mobile... sooo strange...

I give up
my phone is from official poland samsung branch
everything was good but after install some Custom Rom I got boot loop
I did full wipe and tought it will help but didnt
I downloaded official 3files old(first) samsung rom and installed via odin with PIT
phone get up but no wifi and network GSM signal and back of my phone was very hot and after couple od seconds reboot itself
I have chacekd my CSC and I got CYO (greece) , one again I have downloaded official by this time one file rom for CYO region and install by odin v3.07. again no network, very hot phone and reboot after 40seconds ...
I have no idea what is going on ..
any help ?
just inform :
I can boot into recovery , and download mode
I can install CWM,TWRP

I have the same problem

I noticed that in download mode there are two new rows like bootloader enabaled something like that which was not there befor... can any body check. So may be this is the real problem for flashing stock rom by odin as bootloder is modified. So we should see bootloader for effected member and non effected member.

Yes. Kies (android 4.2.2 or older) and Kies 3 (android 4.3 and newer) :highfive:
*EDIT: About OTA verify ur phone is OFFICIAL state. You have an update for ur phone to android 4.4.2 -> I9500XXUFNB3. You can find this update in SamMobile too

On latest version of kies that is 2.6 im getting ur device not support initialising.........on kies 2.3 it say firmware update available bt crashes on clicking upgrade now..........on trying for ota it says latest updates have been installled while ins has got 4.3 nd 4.4.2 also

Go to DOWNLOAD MODE and take a look if ur phone is OFFICIAL or CUSTOM :highfive:

No. If u update ur phone via ODIN, you will receive the updates anyway via OTA and Kies 3 too :good:

I flashed 4.4.2 bt now also kies 3 on clicking upgrade and initialising under tools .......says galaxy s4 i9500 doesnt supprt initialising .....

You are very wrong. The updates appears in same moment u open Kies 3 and you dont need select TOOLS - FIRMWARE UPGRADE AND INITIALISATION. When you will have an update u will see it (Pic attached)

[NEED HELP] Why there is NO LTE in i9505 Black Edition.

Recently I bought unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 Black Edition from Romania Region. I flashed 4.4.2 with Odin, But I can't see LTE option in it. Can someone tell me the reason why there is NO LTE, If its firmware problem so how can I solve it. Which ROM is exactly made for i9505 LTE.

1. Make a factory reset. Settings > Accounts > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All/Erase Everything.
(Please remember to back up any data you want to keep first! In the Factory reset screen you also have the option to Backup My Data and Auto Restore. These are good options to tick before you Factory Reset if you're not too sure how to do this on your own.)
2. Install Kies 3 and conect ur phone to the pc
3. You will see there CSC (....). Remember this 3 letters btw parenthesis close CSC. This will be ur zone code. Maybe u bought ur phone in ROMANIA but this doesnt mean ur phone is from there.
4. Go to Sammobile.com and download the correct firmware with that 3 letters. (Remember download always BLACK EDITION firmware, no others.)
5. Flash it through ODIN.
6. Enjoy LTE now

Hi,
I think your code you are looking for is "XXX" or "NC4". I'm not quite sure...
May be the best to proceed with step 4 and check that download page whether there is a firmware with one code guess. As far as there is no match with the other, I think you can safely proceed.

Ok one more question, IF I don't have 4G enable network then still my device have to show that LTE option...? Because rightnow I don't have 4G network in this area.

I don't have LTE in my area either but a quick check of my settings showed that I indeed have this option.

go to kies 3, click on tools->Firmware update and initialization->write your Model I9505-> then your S/N

Pakistan, 3G n 4G launched last week but I my area I have only 2G Networks.
PS. Its unbranded, and factory unlocked.

I think the reason is, why you dont have LTE, is that samsung didn't build pakistan firmware for i9505.

Same problem here, and don't seem to find any original firmware online so I can flash costum one to check if 4G/LTE will turn on.
PS: Phone Info on PlayStore indicates me Product Model : ROM for my romanian i9505 black edition.

If the APN is locked out, then usually it's because you have a carrier branded ROM installed and they disabled changing it to stop you using other networks. Flash a universal ROM without any branding. What's your current CSC?

SMA is the firmware CSC Code

Ok you're currently on Phillipines (Smart). There no unbranded ROM for that region, only 3 other networks - Sun Cellular, Open Line and Globe. So if you're using one of those networks you can flash one of those or there's a unbranded ROM available for the Malaysia region.

Well that's an XTE ROM which is for the Sun Cellular network. So if you're using that network it will work but if not, they may have also locked out the APN settings.

oh that's great! I'm using sun simcard.. Can you teach me how to do it?

Grab that ROM then. The instructions to flash it are in the thread you posted - using Odin to flash the firmware
