[Q] Trouble viewing videos - Windows 8 General

I have trouble viewing YouTube videos in full screen mode in more locations
This image problem
This video image in this site
But there is no problem in the official website of YouTube
This problem is only in google chrome browser and there is no such problem in Firefox browser
"System Information"
minecraft windows xp professional
google chrome version 35.0.1916.153 m
Adobe Flash Player version 14,0,0,125

This forum is for problems to do with windows 8. It is not for problems with certain applications such as chrome. Also I'd highly advise migrating away from XP. Should be noted that several newer applications now have issues running on XP, it is entirely possible that this is the cause of the issue (I cannot duplicate it in chrome on 64 bit windows 8 or on 32 bit debian).

Can't play any flash videos

Hi,
I've just installed the latest WM6 rom on my 8525 and also installed Flash player 7 along with the java addons. I've tried viewing videos from youtube and mtv from both internet explorer and opera mini 4 beta 3 but any video i click it always says flash player not installed and click here to go to adobe etc.... Can someone help me configure it so I can play flash videos? thanks
cmon, somebody has to have an answer for this. I can't load any videos on standard pages for myspace, mtv, youtube, etc. it says javascript is either turned off or you dont have the right player. I downloaded flashplayer 7. Running mini opera 4 beta 3 and pocket IE as well as picsel browser.
Mobile browsers not designed for video
Neither of the browsers you are trying are capable of displaying flash based videos. The Opera Mini will probably never support them because it is a Java based browser for use on most any phone. There is a Windows Mobile Opera that is in beta, last I heard, that claims to support flash based videos, however the only thing I could get it to do was crash my 8525, forcing me to soft reset, at which time I then uninstalled it completely. As you will see in the instructions at one of the links below, there is one more file you can download that will play the videos, which seems to be accomplished through the link from internet explorer triggering the thirdparty app to open and strat trying to play the video.
You could try the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326225, however I have not tried them and can not confirm for you if they work.
The way I currently play these type files is using a program called AvotMV. AvotMV has a internet browser type feel to it, and when you play the videos it will automatically play them "full" screen (in portrait mode). If you want to try AvotMV, you can download it for free from the developers here here http://www.avotmedia.com/
the tcpmp and flashbundle works beautifuly. especially on a highspd connection. the newest version givesthe choice dowloading or streaming it. You will have to unistall flash7 as it will clash with flashbundle plugin. I posted awhile back if some could figure out how to get them to work together or at least independently on different browsers because the tmpcp flash plugin will only play videos not other flash content.
That explains it...
I have the official flash 2.1 from adobe for WM5/6 which allows me to use one of the spinning cube flash controllers. Would be nice if someone could figure it out because this does not look like it will work for me until a fix is made.

[SOLVED] Unable to watch videos or download files with Opera browser

Hi, got a problem with browser Opera: while trying to watch a video on youtube fro exemple, it doesn't start, it says " not supported: the used protocol in vnd.youtube ******* vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch&vnddnc=1 is not supported.
More than that got also problem while trying to download files from web pages: th download doesn't start, saying "transfert not possible"
does someone knows what's the problem?
For info I allready got flash player 11 installed and enabled flash on opera's settings
just use dolphin hd browser - much better in my opinion
I'll give it a try. btw I tried ninesky also and video works. for the downloads the only problem was sdcard space.
But why opera doesn't work for videos?
Hmm,
I might be wrong, but as far as I know, opera uses its own servers (like a proxy) to reduce the traffic used. They pack the pages in a special way, and on your device, opera browser unpack it. This kinda tricky solution has a side-effect, that video-steam after being packed at server can't be decoded at your device (I suscect the same concerns downloads, as they are saved as is).
BTW there is no reason to use opera, as your kindle fire supports only wifi so no expensive mobile traffic
because opera seems faster than other breowsers to me. btw I've fixed the problem by setting desktop mode on opera's settings.

Flash Player crashing

Hello XDA,
I'm running Windows 8 CP on my Dell L502X Laptop. Ever since 10.3 I've been having issues with Flash Player. The plugin didn't work correctly previously, and every flash video I played look like crap because it would do some really weird flickering (it flickered from one frame to an older frame). If I tried to skip forward in the video it would become un-viewable and I would see random bars on the video (audio worked).
I updated to a newer version of Flash Player, and now nothing works. In Firefox, flash player immediately crashes upon video loading. In Google Chrome, the video does not play either. I can hear the audio for about one second, and then the video freezes the webpage.
I would like to avoid having to upgrade to Windows 8 RP because Microsoft are ****ers, and wont let me keep my files when I upgrade from CP to RP.
I have uninstalled Flash Player and then reinstalled, and it didn't work. I also tried uninstalling both Firefox and Chrome to solve it - didn't work.
Anyways, I'm sure XDA will solve this as they do for most issues I have.
Thanks ahead of time!
Robert

Nexus 7 Can't Play/Stream online video..

Hello everyone. I am having an issue with my Nexus 7 using Google Chrome Browser where it will not stream most online video from a lot of websites. If I go to the verge, or Engadget and try to stream there video reviews I get either an error or the video just freezes. I tried switching user agents to iPad, desktop, etc and still no luck.
When I use my iPad 2 to play the video on those websites it loads up and plays with no issues. I am also having this issue ona lot of other websites I come across.
Is this am android limitation or am I just missing a plug in or something.
Flash isn't supported on Chrome. You need to install latest flash apk and use either AOSP Browser ( you need to sideload this, serach the fourms you will get how to do that) or Firefox Beta , both these browser support flash videos. I have had smooth experience with AOSP browser so would recommend that. If you cant find it let me know.
The iPad doesn't support flash either and plays the videos with no issues. So I don't think flash is the issue. The videos are not flash but I'm not sure what format they are.
Did you try any other browser like Firefox or AOSP Browser whether you are facing same issue?
can you post the website? maybe we can try the site n see if its your device, or something we can help with.
Unless the site supports HTML 5 video you will need to use a different browser and install flash.
Sent from my Paranoid Nexus 7
I tried it with the stock browser and it does not work with it either (fyi im using cm10.. here are the links)
http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/30/apple-ipad-mini-review/
http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/30/3576178/apple-ipad-mini-review
Its the videos that are embedded with the page.
I looked at those and also found the videos did not play. This is strange because I can stream flas from other sites (flash apk in Maxthon browser).
The videos played fine for me ( it takes a half a minute before it starts playing ) on both AOSP browser and Firefox beta.
I am using Team EOS nightly 37 + franco kernel r25.

Well is an Atom n270 Netbook so don't expect it to play video without any lag, you could try to lower all effects on windows 7, or install a light linux distro on it, like lubuntu, then it will be a bit better.
PS: This forum is for Firefox OS and not Mozilla Firefox Browser
