Well is an Atom n270 Netbook so don't expect it to play video without any lag, you could try to lower all effects on windows 7, or install a light linux distro on it, like lubuntu, then it will be a bit better.
PS: This forum is for Firefox OS and not Mozilla Firefox Browser

hi everyone. i am wondering how many of you are able to view
http://www.youtube.com
content on your athena using opera or t'internet explorer?
I am presuming that most people at the moment are using t-mobile
devices and roms which come with bult in opera like mine. I saw a post for a new version of flash player for ppc so i updated expecting to be
able to view youtube movies.......
I have tried to update opera as well to 8.65b but this hasnt helped me.
Does anyone else have any luck?

This is what I found on the topic...

Based on my research...there are mixed results - some can play YouTube while others can't. Someone reported that there seems to be a compatibility issue between the Flash available for PocketPC's and the Flash used to encode the video on YouTube. Another article above mentions installing the latest Opera AND Flash Player 7 for PPC. Apparently YouTube uses the latest Flash while the latest version of PocketPC Flash is equivalent to 7.x. Since 7.x isn't forward compatible then you can't watch the video's on your PPC until they come out with an updated version. This is what i found based on my Google searches. There is also a report that YouTube is making their site PocketPC compatible in May. If I find otherwise, I'll post it for you guys.
well you can play youtube vids with the new opera beta and latest flash player...at least on the jasjar
the only prob being that it is way to choppy at the moment

When you said it is choppy, could you also clarify what network were you using? Is is UMTS or HSDPA? What download speed was it when you made that observation?
Thanks for the info.

it was wifi...
the problem is that even after being completely downloaded the vids are choppy (as in 1-2 fps) during playback
as hd2 have snappy 1ghz capable to emulate psx i think its not a problem to force it to record movies in 720p quality. built in camera is also capable to do that so.
so, is it possible?

In a word, no.
ok ! but can you explain why ?
is that the fault of windows mobile 6 ?
7 mobile can do a thing for make it work or not ?
Thanx...
I think the true power of the HD2 won't be revealed with the Win Mo 6.5, my guess is that when Win Mo 7.0 comes out we might see what the HD2 is capable of and maybe a few tweaks here and there.
It simply doesn't have the drivers.
That has nothing to do with the version of Windows Mobile. For whatever reason (probably time or money), HTC decided not to put the necessary drivers on the HD2.
It's as simple as that.
I managed to install CoolCamera for HiRes Video-Recordings!
I managed to install my old CoolCamera version from my magician.
As you know, this software is able to record high resolution up to
1280x960 Pixel in MJPEG format. On my magician it works with the
highest resolution, unfortunately the device is so slow to record
a adequate framerate. (http://www.ateksoft.com/features.html)
Well on HD2 it starts and shows the camera preview, but I cant
access the settings because hd2 has no hardware pd-keys.
Problems:
- Preview is upside-down
- autofocus seems not working
- Cant control it without hardware pad-keys
Maybe a beginning..
Why don't you try SOTI PocketController (do not pirate, will almost certainly contain trojan) or MobileMe (freeware, preferred) and use your keyboard arrow keys ?

There's simply no point. You won't see any difference in quality between 720p and 640x480 due to the quality of the camera which is... mediocre.
If the processor is up to the job you will see a difference.. We are talking pixels here... The more the better..
Ey guys...to many days i've tried to watch youtube's video, but nothin..with m.youtube the videos were really in low quality such as from Internet Explorer and Opera..anybody know other way to see it in HQ or in other resolution that is not low resolution? Yea i've tried it...but the quality of video is very low...i intend a way to watch youtube videos with all or a part of features that there are in the desktop version.. i dont want believe that there isn't a way to do it or anything like this, on a unbelievable smartphone like this..
Mvu mobile viewer. Search for this application on xda. This program in combination with tcmp or core player will fulfill your needs
i've resolved using mVu player + Core Player( in tool-->preferences-->file associations-->select all...in network "page" set YouTube Format H264( i've put it in this mode) in video "page" at Video Output set DirectDraw...) ^^ thnx riotman!!
Is there a way for the transformer to play 1080p without stuttering? I know the hardware is pretty capable yet how come it cant even play 1080p without stuttering? The blackberry playbook plays 1080p flawlessly.
Click on the search box, type in flash video and read any of the dozens of threads on the subject.
If you would like short answers though - No and because it's a new OS with unoptimized software for the hardware in question which MAY eventually be up to the task of playing 1080p.
Also... you know there aren't that many dots on your screen right?

Hi
I have been on here a few times complaining about flash performance. Through the You Tube Application I did manage to stream both the Lord of the Rings and Batman Dark Knight trailers at 1080p with smooth performance. Looks brilliant.
Through the web browser I cant even stream 720p. Somtimes the You tube application struggles and buffers even with my 30 mb connection. Wonder if this is somthing to do with the network speed rather than it being the hardware and if somthing is off slightly be it with your wireless connection speed or the you tube network it falls over?

Adobe has this in their flash player 10.3 description, this should answer your question.
"For optimal performance and the most immersive experience on Android 3.1 tablets, view Flash Player delivered content in full screen by using the menu buttons provided by content providers, or by tapping content once followed by a long tap to bring down a button in the upper left corner which can be tapped to enable full screen mode."
What don't I know about this?
I just played several 1080p HD vids on my TF without stuttering...no problem.
Hi Guys,
I have an android mini pc dongle and i want to use it as a mediaplayer.
The native videoplayer of android plays everything flawless, even 3d movies.
Now i want to use XBMC but is lags very much when playing 1080p movies. I have read that it is possible to use XBMC now with external players like MX player. I tried that but it still lags.
My question is if it is possible to combine the android native videoplayer with XBMC. In case it does i think i will solve the 1080p issues.
Hope you can help me
Cheers

Hi..
The issue has nothing to do with the videoplayer lagging. XBMC on android is sh*t at the minute.. Even on PC it's not that good.
Seems the devs are more focused on implementing new features over stability and bug fixing.
And it's been like that for years now. Don't expect much from XBMC on android..
Cheers..
Thx for ur reply!
Which app do you recommend to manage movies on android?

XBMC on android depends on the device you are running.
XBMC runs flawlessly on my Nexus 7, 1080p, 10bit video with no problem.
Have you tried one of the builds from XBMCAndroid.com?
They have several builds available and one that is targeted to set top/USB android devices.

Hi, Yes i tried several versions. Also with the mx player but even with the mx player it still lags a bit.
The best solution would be the native android videoplayer with XBMC.
The device i use is a android mini pc cx803
