Hello
I have a nook color and I installed CyanogenMod 10.1, it worked for a couple of days and then it wouldn't boot up. I recently redid all of my steps and i was able to do all of them up to the Cyanoboot Screen, this is where I would have to go into the "Internal eMMc Recovery". But all it does when I click on it is says "Loading Recovery from EMMC" it just stays on the same screen until I reboot it. Can anyone help?
I took a picture of what is happening below.

There is nothing in your picture. I suggest you make a bootable CWM SD and try that.

I have the same problem. I'm running Mirage CyanogenMod 7.2 (custom rom), the July 2013 build.
On that night, I was on 27% of battery, then my Nook Color suddenly turned off without showing message about low battery.
Then I plugged my Nook into the power, it booted, showed Cyanoboot screen, then turned off into black screen (there wasn't any light in the background) after 10 seconds. I left my Nook there.
After 3 hours thinking that it was charged, I checked my Nook. Still black screen. I tried to press the 'n' button and hold the power, but it didn't respond. Then I took it out of the power, and plugged again. It booted, showed Cyanoboot screen, and then turned off into black screen after 10 seconds. I know the problem is the low battery. If I was in the stock rom, it would show message "Battery to low to power on" and would turn into black screen (with light in the background) to be charged, but in this CyanogenMod rom, it tries to boot even when the battery is low, causing infinite boot loop.
My suggestion is running dual boot: original emmc, and CM rom on SD card.
P/s: Luckily my Nook Color booted ok after I plugged it into my laptop via USB cable, but it turned off very fast, so when it shows up the launcher, I must quickly press the power to make it go to sleep. This makes my Nook being charged.

What do you mean that method does not work? You mean you can't make the bootable SD or the SD does not boot?

You still did not answer the question. "Didn't work" is not a good enough answer. You mean it would not boot or that when you booted to it, it did not do what you wanted?

Are you selecting that option or is it trying to going there automatically? It should be trying to boot to SD card recovery.

Don't select that option. That option obviously is not working. That is why I had you make the SD version to use. Select the SD card recovery option. Then you can install the new recovery zip with it. Or you can use it to re-install the CM10.1 zip.

I would suggest boot to CWM again and factory resetting and rebooting fresh. Then when the cyanogenmod account comes up, skip then.

I've been waiting for this new recovery to come out ever since I got my Kindle Fire(we're a bit limited with only 1 physical button). This was just released a few minutes ago, but it's been in development for a year or so.
I have no affiliation with the team, but I thought others would be interested in trying this out. Luckily, the Atrix was included in the initial wave of supported devices. More pics below.
Video of it in action on a tablet. It really shows the potential for an XML-based recovery. Could mean some very nice ROM installs among other things.
TWRP 2.0 for Motorola Atrix 4G
TWRP 2.0 General Info
Themers, keep your eye on this page. Atrix is not listed, yet.
Install instructions with fastboot:
1. Place twrp-olympus-2.0.0RC0.img in fastboot folder.
2. Open command prompt and cd to directory from step 1
3. Put phone in fastboot mode and connect to computer.
4. fastboot devices
5. fastboot erase recovery
6. fastboot flash recovery twrp-olympus-2.0.0RC0.img
7. fastboot reboot
Note to CM7 users: It doesn't look like the internal storage naming (/emmc) used by CM7 is supported yet, so you will be limited to just using /sdcard.
*Edit*
Looks like there's an official thread over in development now.
This should go in development. But glad to see this recovery on atrix

Sorry, I wasn't sure if I should post it there since I wasn't the one to develop it. Mods, please feel free to move. Thanks.
Just flashed to my CM7 atrix, and tried flashing a .zip (radio update) and seemed to work just fine! Touchscreen recovery, the way it should be!
Just flashed it to mine, and I have to say its quite impressive. Methinks my volume buttons are going to see a lot less wear on them now.
Only issue is that it doesnt look like you can backup/restore your PDS partition, but thats not something you need to mess with often so you could probably just flash another recovery temporarily if needed.

I'm jealous! I can't flash it yet cuz I'm not at home.
The development has been pretty quick on this. I'm sure if it's not in there currently, it will be at some point.
I flashed it but couldn't install anything it gave me errors saying it couldn't read the SD cards and I couldn't see any of my files.

What ROM are you on currently? I'm on CM7 so I'm wondering if sdcard naming might be an issue for non-blur roms. I just wanted to prepare myself for possible issues once I get it flashed.

I'm on cm7 as well. I'm thinking the problem lies in the previous recovery image I had, I was using cwm prior to flashing this. Wonder if I wiped recovery in fastboot prior to flashing the new recovery if that'd fix it.

I am using CM7 Weekly 3, and i switched from RomRacers recovery. I used the fastboot erase recovery prior to flashing this, and it doesnt seem to have any problems in the limited testing I have done with it. In the log at the bottom of the screen it says error mounting sd-ext but it is able to flash .zip files from it, so...
Will try again tomorrow. I gotta hit the sack. Amazing job tho by the devs on this. Truly revolutionary work. Night all.

Ok, this is the first CWM zip I've ever tried putting together so please let me know if you have any problems. I took an existing .zip and edited the updater script. I just tried it coming from romracer's CWM, and it worked for me.
If it works for others I will add it to the OP. Happy flashing!
*Edit*
Btw, when using TWRP I tried to reboot into bootloader but it seemed to put me in fastboot mode. Just wanted to put that out there in case others get stuck on "Unlocked" screen.
I can't get this to work so frustrating. I flash with fastboot, it boots into recovery. Its a great touch screen interface. But there are no files populating. I can click the bottom middle button and see a bunch or errors about being able to mount my SD card and such. What step am I missing here.

So when you tap on "Install" it doesn't take you to the root of your external sdcard? For me, that is the only directory I have access to at the moment since I'm on CM7. All of the actions are defaulting to /sdcard.
What boxes are checked for you when you go into "Mount"? I was unable to check sdcard-ext from there, but everything else was selectable.

no it should not
Only boxes checked for mount are cache. I can't mount sd card or anything else. When I click install it takes me to the main / root folder. I can go to whatever folder I want but nothing shows up.

If you read my Tips thread you would know the 8 failed boot reset does not work unless you have stock recovery still installed.
And don't use Nook Tablet repart, it will mess up a nook color as the partition structure is very different.
Are you sure it is a Nook Color instead of a Nook Tablet?

When i was installing the new nightly of CM11 on the nook color, i ran into a funny glitch or something along the lines of that. After i installed the new ROM and the rebooted after the 1st screen splash instead of going on into the ROM like normal it takes me back to the recovery, i retried like rebooting 20-30 times but no luck, i tried choosing to boot the ROM but it took me to the recovery, i tried to reinstall the ROM but still the same problem is happening. and clue to whats going on?

What did it say before the status 7 error? Did it say assert failed? If so your p3 is corrupted. I may have to make you a custom repair zip. And it also means you cannot run stock anymore.

You said you tried to go back to stock. How did you try that?
That message of 'install failed' is stock recovery. Try doing the 8 failed boot reset. Interrupt the boot 8 times in a row by powering off before the cyanoboot logo finishes. Then on the 9th try, let it finish.

Lets say i boot into cwm/twrp using SD or emmc i cant do a creen install (u know formatting data, cache, ect) and then did its time to install the rom, it installs like normal, no problem whatsoever, then installing g apps, same as before not a single problem or error message, then i reboot, see the cyanboot then its says "loading Emmc" or something close to that then the screen goes black, and stays black. weather 5,10,30 mins, an hour goes by nothing else will show on the screen. i though maybe i didn't format my cache (sometimes that's the problem on other devices in the past from booting) so i boot back into cmw/twrp and format it again, reboot, then after the cyanboot screen complete black screen, but i can run roms off SD fine but i dont like too

Hi leapinlar,
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I just dusted off my Nook Colour and want to take it back to stock. I followed your tips and used CWM-6.0.1.2-bootable_SD to restore back to nookcolor_1_4_3_signed.
I followed another threads instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931720) where it told me to first format data and format system. I then chose the nookcolor_1_4_3_signed to install and rebooted.
I've rebooted a couple of times now and it is stuck on the screen with the n and "Contains reader mobile tech by adobe.."
I then went back into CWM and chose the restore function but i'm getting the same result.

Hi leapinlar,
I believe I already stated that I did use your files?
Edit: Sorry, now I see I missed the note about formatting with 5-6-7. I'm not sure what that really means, or how to do it, but i've downloaded it and I'll put it on the SD card and see what I can play around with in CWM.
Edit 2: Got it working! Thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to re-format the SD card so I can use it regularly again.

[quote name="leapinlar" post=53764858]If you had CM on your NC before trying to go back to stock, you must first use my format zips from my NC Tips thread linked in my signature. Using CWM to format is not enough. Read item A15.

You are not saying how you are trying to install it. To SD or internal memory? You mentioned trying 3 SDs so maybe you are trying to install to SD? If you are, use the guide linked in my signature. If you want to install to internal memory, use this guide:
