Before I get started I'd like to say I thought Straight Talk was the worst. But that was because the phone I had before, a Huawei Fusion 2. Take my advise and avoid getting a phone made by Huawei. You get what you pay for. With these APN settings I can talk, text, send pics and get on the internet just fine. Even with two bars the internet is pretty fast. The only downfall with Straight Talk is that you only get 3 GB ( 3072 MB ) for 30 days. That's alright with me for only $45 a month. Not even a year ago it was 1.5 GB before it was 2.5 and now it's 3. People are getting mad about that so now they boost there data limits. I've also heard that if you use over 100 MB's in one day they begin to throttle you. So don't setup a hotspot or tether your phone to a computer. I also advise you to get an app called "data lock lite". You can set a limit on how much data you would like to use. And it always tell's you how much data you have used from your status bar.

Ok excuse my ignorance cause I'm still working around on figuring out Samsung, Android, and Rooting for this as it's much different than my Nexus One.
Ok this may be stupid but I put in my SIM cards for my Nexus into the Galaxy Tab. The 3G wouldn't work. And it's because the APN is set for broadband. Ok, cool. I figured I would need a special SIM card dedicated to tablets. But I thought I could be slick and set up a new AT&T APN set up and set up the wap.cingular account. But it won't let me set it up because wap.cingular seems to be blocked out???
So anyways here's the weird thing, I was deleting the APN account, but now I notice I have 3g service..... Wow weird. How can I have access to 3g now w/o setting up the wap service? When I switch it back to the broadband APN setting the 3g goes away. I have a dummy APN set up with the name ATT wap
And I never notice that with a SIMS card in the download button in the Market is switch to an AT&T button. Guess it only shows the download button when there's no SIMS card in?
Anyhow I can now get my 3g service now. Sorry if this been explain previously. Tried search couldn't find info on it.
Speed test shows 3036 dl 333 ul so I guess that from previously reading that upload speed are capped ~ 300
Will flash to the Euro was I'm comfortable with the instructions and research on it. I never flashed a Samsung and seems a bit trickier than nexus since I'm so used to Rom Manager and Clockwork Mod.

Yes I'm familiar with this thread as I have been watching it closely for the EURO firmware, but my thing is more about how I can get the 3g to work when I have a dummy APN account set, but it won't work on the ATT Broadband APN account.
I not ready to flash this till I'm fully comfortable with being able to do back ups, restores and flashs.

Ok this is exactly what I did.
I went to Mobile settings and went in to APN
It already had the AT&T Broadband APN set up.
I selected to Add New APN thru the menu button
I named it ATT wap
I couldn't enter wap.cingular under APN. It would let me fill in the rest of the information like User, MMSC, etc, but not wap.cingular. I don't know how but it worked. Maybe it's a glitch within the firmware.
At that point I used the backed button and got the notification "The APN cannot be empty"
I selected exit and the 3G icon was at the top. Here's the pics show the 3G icon

No point. There's no info entered at all. That's the whole point. I never set up anything but for whatever reason when I select ATT wap 3G icon appears.
My work uses WPA2 and WPA2 enterprise WiFi network that is hidden, I could connect using my iPad, but since I liked the GTab 10.1 better I gave the iPad to wife and I bought one, now I do not see that option in adding a WiFi network. Does anyone know how to connect to WPA2 or WPA2 Enterprise as that option isn't available when adding it in the Wifi settings. I searched the forums and on Google but got different results but none of them have worked thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I seemed to find it ok... Make sure that you change "open" to "WPA2"

Okay I guess I overlooked that, duh! So that would work, but when connecting I need to provide a user name, on the iPad, I would select WPA2 or WPA2 Enterprise, guess it never mattered as they both worked. But on the iPad it had the following options:
1. Network Name
2. User Name
3. Password
Since connecting to our work address required a username just inputting the password wont allow you to connect. Any way i can add a user name so when it authenticates my user name will match the password on the network? thanks for all the help!
Well to tell you the truth im not too sure where you would put in a username... The closest thing that ive come across is my college... But they make me put in the username and my password in a browser window after i connect to the network... Sorry i cant help you there...
no worries, at least you were able to help me not overlook the setting, so thanks a million for helping! I am sure there is a way, but i guess until then my quest continues.

I have had AT&T for awhile, and I just swapped to an S4 from a One X, and I am on a 4GB Data plan. I was curious as to how much data I was using after having the phone for a couple days so I did the "check or data" code and I come back with something odd. I have never seen it show 2 different sections for data before on any device that I have had. I haven't touched wifi so far, I have been at work mostly and our wifi is pretty slow. I also checked on my account page on the AT&T website and it shows the same as the top line that I haven't used any data at all.

When my friend switched over to the S4 he also had the 4GB plan but they screwed up and gave him unlimited. That was months ago when the s4 first came out. Check under services online and see if it reads "data unlimited for smartphone LTE add on" or something like that.
Congrats if you have unlimited now. They don't really throttle anymore.
Well thats interesting. I actually started a new account under an ANR line and just went for the 4GB data because I tend to use more. If I log in on the site it tells me I have the 4gb and I have used zero of it. If I have unlimited then that is going to be awesome lol, I think I am going to try to go over to see if they charge me teh $10 per GB. This is what the MyAT&T app says

It looks to me like there are two data plans on your account. That might be where the error is. It would have to say XXXo of 4,096 deactivated and then your new unlimited plan, e.g, ... xxx of unlimited. Log onto your AT&T account and see if your feature for your data plan says what mine does.
Well for mine, it doesn't show anything as current. I can't edit anything on my account without it screwing up either. I have to talk to my account executive and they do it for me. ANR accounts are kinda weird.
You have two data plans on your account... Try to get the 4gb removed...
It should look like this :

This is no good. I popped in my T-Mobile SIM into my Verizon Moto X, and while the option to add an APN is there, it will NOT save. This happened after the KitKat update as on JB, I could manually add APNs and use T-Mo's service.
Disappointed. Any way to get around this?

Had the same issue on my ATT XT1058 - hard reset it and the problem was gone (just in case - power off, hold Vol- and Power buttons for few seconds, then choose Factory (with Vol-) and select (with Vol+))
Still no dice. Nothing saves. That means no MMS support and VERY limited data speeds.
Bummer.
EDIT: Here's what happens without an APN setup

Fixed it.
You can't leave MVNO type at 'None.' I selected IMSI, and the default value. Finally added the APN for T-Mobile. I might have to play with it a little more. I then put the MVNO back to None. Sometimes it'll take the APN out though, so I went back into the edit APN screen and saved it again while it was reconnecting to the HSPA+ network. Ugh. For now, it's staying put, but it might disappear.
Hmm, my data is still gimped with the APN setup. It's like there's something in the system preventing it from connecting at full speed.
Voice, SMS, and MMS work flawlessly though.
By gimped I mean my download speed is 0.05Mbps and upload is 1.0Mbps. It's like it's capped on my end. At one point I did get 0.5Mbps, but I know HSPA+ is capable of so much more.
So, Verizon may not SIM lock phones, but they're doing something to limit data.
I have the VZW APN permissions app and VZWAPNService disabled too.
So I updated to CM12 and really like it, aside from the fact that I can no longer connect to mobile data (sometimes it will get 1x for a few seconds). I looked around online a bit and sure enough it looks like my APN settings must have been changed. The problem is that I cannot find where to edit/add APN settings. I tried the usual settings>mobile networks>more> etc etc... I tried different dialer codes like the usual ##3282# but the dialer wouldn't open the data menu. So, does anyone know of how to get to APN on a Spring GS4 running CM12? I know there are threads on this already but they all suggested things I have already tried. I even tried using an APN editor app to no avail. Any help is very much appreciated, I really like CM12, plus I lost my daily driver backup (rookie mistake), so I would really like this to work

From what I've seen most people use flashable for their APNs. Dialer codes only work on Touchwiz.
