My work uses WPA2 and WPA2 enterprise WiFi network that is hidden, I could connect using my iPad, but since I liked the GTab 10.1 better I gave the iPad to wife and I bought one, now I do not see that option in adding a WiFi network. Does anyone know how to connect to WPA2 or WPA2 Enterprise as that option isn't available when adding it in the Wifi settings. I searched the forums and on Google but got different results but none of them have worked thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I seemed to find it ok... Make sure that you change "open" to "WPA2"

Okay I guess I overlooked that, duh! So that would work, but when connecting I need to provide a user name, on the iPad, I would select WPA2 or WPA2 Enterprise, guess it never mattered as they both worked. But on the iPad it had the following options:
1. Network Name
2. User Name
3. Password
Since connecting to our work address required a username just inputting the password wont allow you to connect. Any way i can add a user name so when it authenticates my user name will match the password on the network? thanks for all the help!
Well to tell you the truth im not too sure where you would put in a username... The closest thing that ive come across is my college... But they make me put in the username and my password in a browser window after i connect to the network... Sorry i cant help you there...
no worries, at least you were able to help me not overlook the setting, so thanks a million for helping! I am sure there is a way, but i guess until then my quest continues.

Hi everybody, been surfing the forum now as ive got an MDA Vario, unlocked it etc etc using the threads on board.
I've been trying to get my pc wi fi router to work with my phone, but have had no luck as of yet; however last night i came accross a broadband router which i thought was mine, i only used the connection to try pocket msn and look at googles layout on the phone. After a while i noticed i was not getting a 2mb speed and the signal strength was weak, therefore i noticed im using someone elses broadband.
My question is..
is it possible for the person to see my contact details on my pda .e.g my house address, and my home telephone number which is stored on the pda?
no phone has no network shares,
chances are they are ur next door nieghbour anyway lol
so they know where u live
:? so they wouldnt know any of my details?
well i only picked up a very weak signal
I think that the device does identify you with the first name and last name of whatever is set in the "Owner Information" properties. Can someone confirm? Is there a way to change that?
I would assume that rather than owner details, the PDA's "friendly name" would be used.
All moot as regardless of my best efforts I cannot get the thing to even ping, never mind show up on any networking kit I have. As someone has said they have no shares.
I am pretty paranoid about WLAN stuff as I run several and know how easily most are hacked - however, I am not in any form of panic re my Wizard.
It seems to me that PPC's are designed as a client side only system, which does seem sensible coming to think about it.
the only thing that they could trace is any logs on the router, with your IP and MAC address... i would not worry about it too much. the person is obviously stupid enough to NOT secure there network so i doubt they have the brains to trace you.
Thanks for the info guys
could be a honeynet.......
Odds are good that your neighbor can detect that you have been riding on his nickel. I am generalizing, but if they were bright enough to be watching their router logs and dhcp logs for rogue devices connecting then they would likely have also WEP'd their box.
I agree with VAP that the risk of the neighbor prying into your device over the 802.11 seems pretty small.
The "WM_Glenn" device is my TMO MDA

htc legend connects to particular kind of hotspot type in my university. The thing about this is tha , we have to enter login id and password given to us before we can actually start accessing the net.
So , my legend connects but it does not load anything not even the log in page, here are the screen shots

What ROM are you using and what WiFi is it? Look in your wireless settings. By the sound of it, it is 802.1X which I have trouble with on blay0's ROM.
Its this rom - Superuser,Keep It Simple ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811776
I dont really think its the problem with the ROM.
hmmm
i've noticed a week wifi signal after installing cyanogenmod 6.1 dunno why is like that..
before when i had stocked rom wifi was running better thougt
I dont think its with the signal range. Because ive stood under the router and the signal shows full. Its something else. Please help me out.
Try in settings / wireless / wi-fi parameters
select your hotspot and in the window select forget
select a new time your hotspot and it should open the log in page.
I had similar problem with my box: connected but no internet access and this trick solve it.
^ Tried that. It doesnt work. Erm, tell me how can i help you to get more details about the network ? Basically its a 802.11 g network.
Its not the problem with ONLY my legend. Its with all Legends. The BB Torch , for instance works with the wifi.
Its not the problem with the ROM coz another friend of mine faces the sane problem though he is on original 2.2
Com'on guys ! help me out !

Adhoc wifi connection means temporary wifi from your laptop or desktop PC which is wifi enabled.
In this connection you dont need to have a wifi router. Just make an Adhoc connection from your PC and connect phone with it. Share your PCs USB dongle internet connection to phone.
Thats it.

Hey everyone
I think I already configured this once, but I do not remember if it was on my old phone or on my beloved G2. Is there a possibility to set the wifi priority, so that my ssid A is chosen over ssid B? If not, which app would you recommend? Hope my english is good enough to let you understand my question i m very tired
Thx for the replies.
Settings -> WiFi -> Advanced Wi-Fi -> Manage networks
You can arrange priority in stock.

Can we bring this post up to life? has anyone an idea how to fix this?
So let me explain what I'm trying to do. I am trying to connect to a Barco Clickshare (CSE-200) via wifi using the clickshare app and then open chrome and go to a website.
The Clickshare for those that don't know is a wireless content sharing device for meeting rooms. It's like a wireless access point but with no internet. You connect to it on your phone by connecting to its wifi SSID and password and then use the clickshare app to share content from your phone to a TV or whatever display the clickshare access point is connected to.
So when I connect to the clickshare wifi (which has no internet) I am no longer able to go to a website or use internet. My phone doesn't seem to be able to use my LTE service while the wifi is on. I talked to a guy at Barco and he said thats not normal. My LTE service should still be usable. My coworker who has the iPhone 6 is able to connect to the clickshare wifi and still use the internet on his phone from his LTE service.
I should note I am using the MSL/dun trick for hotspot.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Enable developer mode by tapping the build number in the about menu a bunch of times, then go to the new developer options menu at the bottom of the settings screen and turn on the keep mobile data turned on setting.
It's still possible that in the routing table on the phone the cellular data will be associated with a higher cost, and therefore the data still won't go over it even though it's enabled, bit worth a try.

I did what you said pitcherj, but no luck. I do now have the LTE icon at the top above the cell bars which before I didn't, but still no internet. Anything else I could try? I did restart the phone as well.
Nope, no thoughts. Without root you can't recost the network interfaces AFAIK. Maybe someone else has an idea.
