Does there exist a Heimdall Firmware Package for the 9100?
I have the US AT&T phone, but I'd put any language into it at this point.
Hi,
U can use download the roms.
extract the files.
use the latest Heimdall to install the rom.
No need for packages.
Just read the readme doc and guide before using Heimdall.
Also first install the driver for your phone, and extract and download the pit file of your phone.
Then use the pit file to install the files from the rom.
Hope this helps.
Hi, please help! All the firmwares for galaxy s2 I have downloaded don't have a PIT included in the tar. I have downloaded them from this site both from the branded firmwares and the unbranded ones. Where do I get the PIT?
Thanks.

NEVER use a pit file PERIOD
Thanks for your reply. How do I get heimdall to flash without the PIT? Everything I have read says you need to browse for that in order to flash if you don't have a heimdall package.

First question before this post is moved is why do you want to flash via Heimdall .
Why not just flash using ODIN .

In my case: Because it means I have to reboot into windows just for that. Everything else is on Linux.

you can use heimdal to extract the current pit from your phone, save the file on your pc and use it for flashing kernels & stuff.
Hello, I have two questions:
If the bootloader Odin file and pit file are used should repartition be checked?
Is it safe to flash over the EC07 Miunia?
Thank you

No. Repartition doesn't NEED to be checked. And I would advise flashing ec07 leaked, first

Should the EB01 update still be applied if I am currently on EC07?

Yes. From what I've beenctold by imnuts, eb01 patches some apks that aren't outright replaced in ec09. So, assuming you dontvwindbup to revert to DL17 and get the ota, i would flash either ec07 leaked, or dl17 stock odex all in one, then flashing eb01 then ec09. That would be my personal advice. Others are more than welcome to jump in.

Sooo.. No more odin option?

You can use the Odin package for everything except the modem. I'll see if I can put a modem only CWM zip together then to go from DL17 to EC09

True. My brain wasn't functioning. The odin packages have the patched and replaced files where they are supposed to be, since they were pulled from OTA updated phones.
so the odin packages do not contain the new modem?
if yes, would there be issues flashing the odin before flashing the modem?

So I've searched around both in forums and google but cannot figure this out. Is there a way to determine which modem is currently running on the phone? I know I never flashed the EC09 modem but not sure if I'm on the DL17 either, and I've gone through all the phone properties I can think of with no luck.

alright well I'm confused then. My baseband version I'm running the EC09, but the odin packages don't contain that modem? Did flashing the odin only change what displays there and not actually flash the modem?

Not really. The ec09 modem seems to have slightly better tability, over ec07 or dl17, but no, it wont make your phone unusable. Question. Is there any reason you are reluctant to flash the modem?

Not at all. Just have to go back through CWM flashing and delete songs off sdcard to put zip file on. I noticed the DL17 modem is a md5 file, flash through odin in the PDA section?

Yes. For clarity, It's the EC09 modem. I know you know that, but some poor soul is gonna stumble in here and leave with his brain bleeding. But, yes it is an ODIN flash in PDA. No repartition (obviously) no PIT and reboot and f. reset are whatever.

So is there a reason that the DL17 modem can be flashed through an ODIN package but the EC09 could not be updated through the ODIN package?

No one has gotten their hands on the EC09 modem file yet, and it can't be dumped or pulled from the phone.

I need to correct myself. The EC09, is a cwm flash, not Odin. Sorry.

odin 3.07 always works for me
Odin3 V1.85 is the version I've always used, never missed a beat or ever had a flash fail.

3.09 seemed to be released for Galaxy Camera, but still works perfect for I9500.
Previous 3.0x versions took 5-6 minutes to flash an official KIES firmware release for I9500; with 3.09 the time decreased to less than 4 minutes.
For me Odin 3.04 is th most stable version.

Could you be more specific about what was bad about 3.07 and why 3.09 is worse?

AP = PDA
CP = modem
for me all 3.0? are the same with some added options
I found 3.04 loaded the .tar file 1st then did the MD5 check when you hit start and 3.07 checks the MD5 file before it accepts the .tar file.
Really only difference but if I want to start the flash then run to do something its easier to use 3.04 as it will accept the .tar file immediately. 3.07 tends to wait until the check is done which can take a minute or two but goes directly to the flash after start is pressed...
Odin 3.09
got Odin 3.09 now from
but the bunch of new features are unexplained.
Anyone has got contact to the devs perhaps a documentation for the various updated options would be helpful.
Thanks.
