Hi everyone, been using my S5 for about 2 months ago and have been having a swell time with it. Last night i was surfing the net and suddenly the screen went blank! phone didn't go off or anything like that. I have restarted it a million times and still having the blank screen. Everything works, i still recieve calls but can't use it for anything else:crying:. Anyone experienced this or any suggestions as to what to do will be appreciated. Also just to note i bought it in Australia and currently not there so cannot return it.

Hi all,
as my signature says... yes, I sent my X1 to repair (cracks, as always). When I got it back, it seems to be perfect. Outside. Switched it on and it seemed ok.
As soon as I came back home, I noticed that the lower part of the screen "vibrates" (I can not define it in a better way... I suppose the right verb is "to flick"). At sunlight I did not noticed it, but at home and in the dark it is really really visible (and annoying, on a 600€ brand new phone).
Does someone ever had the same issue? or does someone know how to solve it (apart from sending it again to repair).
Thanks!
P.S.: searched the thread and foud nothing. Searched in google and just came up with a "refresh" problem, that does not apply to our X1... or can we change the refresh rate?!
I did once experience what I believe was the same issue, the flickering screen. The problem was still there after a soft reset and power cycle, but then after leaving the phone for a few minutes it turned back to normal.
Unfortunately I don't think I be of much help here as I don't recall doing anything special to get the screen back to normal.

i received my Galaxy S4 I9505 a week ago and have been happily using it until today it turns on vibrates make notification sounds but the screen doesn't turn on i have taken the battery out and restarted it many times makes sounds and vibrates but still no picture and it doesnt have picture in recovery mode either.
i have never dropped the phone or scratched it its in perfect condition so i cannot see why it would stop working
i need help quick its like a child to me :crying:
pls no hate i am a noob
Screen seems to really be dead. If you've only had it for a week, you should be able to exchange it without any issue. I don't know where you live, but in Europe we have a 14 day exchange period covering us.

Try to take out the battery then put it back and press the volume down button without loose press also the power button.
Is anything on screen?
If no then service is the only way.

It may appear that your phone has suffered a hardware malfunction - You will either have to try and get it repaired or replaced.

Still go to a service center, seems like your screen is hardware damaged for whatever reason, never heard of this though.
Explain the situation and they might fix it for free, probably not.

Hello All!
I do have some problem with my Samsung Galaxy S4. I am not able to use my phone because it has irresponsible touch problem. Whenever I try to unlock my handset, the handset itself starts touching the number, even I didn't touch any of the number. Whether I lock the screen and unlock it again, the problem is same. Touch without my consent. If by luck, the screen is unlocked, then the notification bar comes down itself, contacts are opened, couldn't use the messaging app, and all the homescreens are seen. I am really getting crazy by this fault. I am using Kitkat 4.4.2. I have tried everything like removing the phone battery for half minute and then reinserting it. The device works properly for few minutes, and then again it starts irrelevant works.:crying:
Please guys, help me out. This thing is driving me crazy. I also can't contact the service center as it is not in our city. Will be grateful! Thank you!

I tried that too, but it didn't help me.
Yesterday, my screen turn off, or so i thought, there was a horizontal line on the top of the screen, and i saw it was the same color as the screen i was on. I immediately took off the battery and for a split second it worked before turning off. So i thought it was a low voltage problem, and let it charge overnight, and today it worked for 2 hours until it failed again. So.. if anyone knows how to repair this without replacing the entire screen, please let me know. i already checked if it was the conector, and it seems it isn't
If the screen itself is the problem then there is no way to fix it without replacing.

Hi,
It appears to me that it's some kind of problem with the screen as well, it doesn't seem to be changing the leds of the previous screen until it is out of power to keep them turned on. Unfortunately I'd guess the only solution is replacing screen.
All the best,
~Lord

You might try changing the software, but it might be hard to do if the screen doesn't display anything in recovery or download mode.

nope, it doesn't, i was hoping it was a software issue, but i noticed that it didn't display anything in recovery or download, so i opened the phone and checked if the display connector wasn't passed correctly or something, but to my surprise it was correctly connected, i went and disconnected and reconnected the pin, but it didn't helped at all
