That IR LED is also used for proximity detection I believe, which is something you cannot turn off.
Why do you want to turn it off so badly anyway? It will barely use power at all.
because i believe is not healthy for your head to receive continuity IR i am wrong?

If you start to fear your IR blaster, don't go out, stay at home. Because sun radiations are way much armful
Hello everyone, I recently got Note3.
Today, I looked at my phone through another phone camera and found a sensor which kept blinking all the time. (Please see attached clip)
To me, it seems like an infrared since human eyes could not see it.
Is this normal even I don't have air gesture ON?
Thank you

Very interesting. Mine too
That is the IR.
If you're using an IR remote app, and you press a key, that'll light up for human eyes to see.

How can it be the IR?
If you were using an IR remote app then you'd have to show the front face of the phone to the TV, which would make looking at the phone screen a bit of an issue.

You mistake my meaning. If you look at the top of the phone, you'll see a small dot next to the audiojack. That is the IR blaster. The blipping dot at the front is the indicator of the IR blaster. It lights up when the IR blaster is transmitting, to alert the user.
Hello,
i´m looking for a solution for my proximity sensor problem. After drop down and screen replacement, i recognized that the sensor doesn´t work anyomore like he normally should.
The problem is well known, but i didn´t want to tear my nexus down. With the app Proximity Screen Off Lite it was possible to disable the sensor, but now, after updating to 5.0 it doesn´t work anymore.
I tried lots of other proximity apps, but none of them are working.
So, can anyone help me? (Phone is rooted)
Greets
did you ever future anything out? i have a similar problem since installing 5
It's for my galaxy note 4 (910A, att version)
Recently, my daughter dropped note 4 on very hard surface (cracked the screen) and had slight water damage. So camera failed also.
So I have replaced the LCD and rear camera. Camera still didn't work, but after I unseated all the cable and seated again, then camera works. Pretty difficult experience.
But today when I checked, I found IR blaster doesn't work. IR LED works, but on mirror or camera, when I clicked the IR button (PEEL smart remote), there is no light coming out from a hole beside the headphone jack. So I am guessing, hardware failure.
To replace this, what part should I buy? It seems to me that this part is connected to proximity sensor and front camera. So I am looking at the eBay item like this: Replacement-Front-Camera-Proximity-Sensor-Flex-Cable-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-4
Sorry I can't post the link for this.
The seller doesn't respond whether this fix also IR blaster. Does any one know?
Could someone recommend the trouble shooting guide for IR blaster? *#0*# doesn't really test the IR blaster, just test IR LED. Am I looking at the right location for IR?
Hey,
since the skype app exists I have the problem that if I'm having a call within Skype an I'm using my headset the proximity sensor is still on.
So if I put my hand over it, and that happens way more often than you think, the screen turns off.
Is there any way to turn of the proximity sensor on our loved S7 edge?
Actually my S7 edge isn't rootet but I'm willing to root it if that would solve my problem.
